Doomsday Mechanic: My Train Can Be Modified Infinitely
Chapter 79 Wolf
"Let's go tomorrow," Wang Zhengyang said. "It's already three in the morning, almost dawn. And with such a big incident at the dock, the police have definitely cordoned off the area. Going now would be like walking into a trap."
He paused, then continued, "If your father were still alive, he wouldn't be foolish enough to show himself during a large-scale police search. The safest time is tomorrow during the day—after the police have finished their search and left, the security will be relaxed, but the Iron Hand gang might still be active in the area. Going then will allow you to avoid the police while also observing the Iron Hand gang's movements."
Natasha bit her lip. She knew Wang Zhengyang was right, but her worries made her restless.
"But...but my dad..."
"If he's already in trouble, it's too late for you to go now." Wang Zhengyang's tone was calm, even somewhat cold. "If he's still alive, then waiting until tomorrow during the day is the most sensible choice. You need to rest now and conserve your energy. There might be a battle tomorrow."
Natasha was silent for a few seconds, then finally nodded. Although she was worried about her father, she wasn't an unreasonable child. Wang Zhengyang was right; acting impulsively now would only make things worse.
"Chen Yishang," Wang Zhengyang called out.
"Here!" Chen Yishang ran over.
"Arrange a room for her, and get her some food and clean clothes," Wang Zhengyang instructed. "Keep an eye on her and don't let her wander off."
"Okay." Chen Yishang smiled at Natasha. "Come with me, little sister. There's hot water, clean clothes, and food here."
Natasha glanced at Wang Zhengyang, then at Chen Yishang, and finally nodded. She followed Chen Yishang toward the main building of the repair station, but when she reached the door, she suddenly turned around and bowed deeply to Wang Zhengyang.
"Thank you," she whispered. "Whether you find my father or not... I thank you for saving me."
Wang Zhengyang nodded without saying anything.
After Natasha left, Li Ming came over and handed Wang Zhengyang a bottle of water.
"That girl... is not simple," Li Ming said. "I just saw her moving ammunition boxes; her movements were very professional, like she had been trained."
"Her father is a former special forces soldier who trained her," Wang Zhengyang said. "Moreover, I saw her take action in the supermarket parking lot, where she beat down three thugs."
Li Ming raised an eyebrow: "What a coincidence?"
"It's not a coincidence." Wang Zhengyang shook his head. "Berlin isn't that big, but it's not that small either. People you're meant to meet will eventually meet."
He took a sip of water, his gaze fixed on the alloy plates and mortars in the garage, his eyes deep and thoughtful.
With these materials, the train's modifications can be accelerated. This heavy firepower will significantly enhance the train's defensive and offensive capabilities. And if Andrei's team can be recruited, the train will have a professional escort force.
Everything is going in a good direction.
Outside the window, it was still pitch black. There were still two or three hours until dawn.
As Wang Zhengyang's truck drove into the backyard of the repair shop, a storm was already brewing on the other side of Berlin.
Iron Hands headquarters, top-floor office of the "Obsidian" nightclub.
Wolf Schmidt stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, his back to the room. He was tall and wore a well-tailored dark gray suit, but the muscles beneath were still clearly visible—he was a man who had risen to the top through street fighting, and even as a boss, he hadn't lost his wolfish nature.
Outside the window lay the Berlin nightscape, neon lights flashing, traffic flowing like a river. But Wolf's eyes held no appreciation, only coldness.
The office door was gently pushed open, and a middle-aged man wearing a black leather jacket and with a scar on his face walked in. He was Marcus, the second-in-command of the Iron Hand Gang.
"Boss, we have news from the docks." Marcus's voice was soft, but it was exceptionally clear in the quiet office.
Wolf didn't turn around: "Speak."
"A gunfight broke out at Pier 17 East, resulting in eight deaths. Police initially determined it to be a gang shootout and have cordoned off the area. The identities of the deceased have been confirmed—four were Rajesh gang members from India, and the other four were Zhang Yiqiang's men."
"Zhang Yiqiang?" Wolf finally turned around, his brow furrowed slightly. "That Huaqing Gang's agent at the docks? How did he get involved?"
"I don't know," Marcus shook his head. "But the scene was very strange. Zhang Yiqiang, his subordinate Lao Han, and two other core members were all dead. The manner of their deaths was very professional; they were all shot in the head and killed instantly. Rajish's gang died even more horribly; one of them was riddled with bullets."
Wolf walked to his desk, picked up a cigar cutter, and slowly cut open a Cuban cigar: "How could that piece of trash Rajish run into Zhang Yiqiang's men?"
“We checked Rajish’s phone.” Marcus pulled a phone from his pocket and placed it on the table. “Before he died, he received an anonymous text message saying that Andrei Sokolov would be at Pier 17 tonight. Rajish probably wanted to take advantage of the situation, but…”
"In the end, he got himself killed." Wolf lit a cigar, took a deep drag, and slowly exhaled the smoke. "So, what about Andrei? Has he shown up?"
"No trace of Andrei was found. But..." Marcus paused, "there was another discovery at the scene. Zhang Yiqiang's warehouse had been emptied."
Wolf's eyes sharpened instantly: "Emptyed out?"
"Yes. According to our informant in the dock area, Zhang Yiqiang's warehouse originally contained a batch of weapons—heavy machine guns, assault rifles, ammunition, and eight automatic mortars that were supposedly brought from Eastern Europe. Now they're all gone. Only some empty boxes and bloodstains remain in the warehouse."
"Who did it?"
"I don't know." Marcus's tone carried a hint of barely perceptible apprehension. "My informant said that when the gunfight broke out, the fog was very thick, and visibility was extremely low. He only heard a barrage of gunfire, followed by explosions. When the gunfire stopped, he sneaked closer to investigate and found three trucks parked at the warehouse entrance, with people loading things onto them. But the fog was too thick to see who they were."
Wolf was silent for a few seconds, then tapped his fingers lightly on the table.
"Zhang Yiqiang's weapons were from Mr. Zhou's supply line," he said slowly. "Now the goods have been robbed, and the man is dead. Mr. Zhou won't let this go."
"Should we get involved?" Marcus asked.
"No," Wolf shook his head. "Let Mr. Zhou investigate himself. Our focus now is on Andrei."
He stood up, walked to the large map of Berlin on the wall, and his gaze fell on the location of Pier 17.
"Rajish received a text message saying Andrei would appear at the dock, but Rajish died, Zhang Yiqiang died, and the arms were stolen..." Wolf's voice grew colder and colder. "This is no coincidence. Someone is using Andrei as bait to clear out the small fry at the dock."
"You believe it was Andrei who did it?"
“Andrei has the capability,” Wolf said. “He and his band of former mercenary brothers are all from special forces; this kind of raid is a piece of cake for them. But… why steal weapons? They’re being chased by us, what do they need so much weaponry for?”
Marcus pondered for a moment: "Perhaps...they're planning a counterattack?"
"A counterattack?" Wolf sneered. "With just five or six men, they think they can fight the Iron Hand gang head-on? Andrei isn't stupid; he won't do something so foolish."
"So you mean...?"
