Dragons begin with courage

Chapter 47 The Strength of Hybrids

The other man pulled the trigger in terror at Leo. "Bang!" The bullet struck Leo's specially made composite bulletproof arm guards, which he had bent to protect his head and chest, sending sparks flying. Leo's body swayed slightly, and he grinned, revealing white teeth. His large hand shot out with lightning speed, grabbing the still-smoking gun barrel. Before the other man's horrified eyes, he twisted the steel barrel like a rope! A heavy hook punch slammed into the man's soft abdomen. The man's eyes bulged, and he collapsed to his knees, clutching his stomach, vomiting bile.

"Devil! He's a devil!" The last two gangsters who were still standing witnessed the horrifying scene of the gun barrel being bent. Their mental defenses completely collapsed, and they let out inhuman screams. They threw down their weapons and scrambled away towards a pile of rocks not far away, wishing they had two more legs.

From the high rocky point, Juliet's sniper scope had its crosshairs firmly locked onto the fleeing man's back, and her finger was about to press the trigger.

"Wait," Susie's cool voice came, and she gently pressed Juliet's shoulder.

"Junior Brother Lu," Susie pressed a button on her earpiece, her voice coming through the channel to Lu Mingfei's earpiece, "the two who escaped are yours."

Lu Mingfei's body trembled slightly. He understood what Susie meant—an excellent, low-risk moving target, a real combat "opening shot".

Without hesitation or unnecessary words, Lu Mingfei took a deep breath, instantly suppressing all distracting thoughts. His movements were extremely swift; he drew his gun, raised it, and straightened his arm. Although his posture still showed some novice awkwardness despite brief training, it was exceptionally stable.

His gaze, aim, and target were aligned perfectly. His breathing became light and deep, as if everything else had been shut out at that moment, leaving only the silhouette swaying in the scope.

This feeling… is so familiar. It's like countless nights spent facing the hordes of Zerg swarming onto the computer screen, the mouse precisely gliding over each unit, the keyboard typing out the most concise and effective commands. It's not thinking; it's an instinctive, intuitive grasp of "timing" and "trajectory."

Pull the trigger.

"Pfft! Pfft!" Two sounds.

The faint sound was muffled. In the distance, a burst of bright red anesthetic blood suddenly erupted from the right shoulder blades of the two sprinting gangsters. Almost simultaneously, the two staggered forward two steps and fell straight to the sand like broken wooden stakes, motionless.

Throughout the entire shooting process, from raising the gun to hitting the target, Lu Mingfei's body hardly swayed, and his hand holding the gun was as steady as if it were welded to the rock.

"His arm is steady, like a marksman who has been trained for many years." Juliet put down her sniper rifle and witnessed the whole scene through the scope, a rare hint of clear surprise showing on her face.

"No, Juliet. Before enrolling in Kassel, Junior Brother Lu was just an ordinary Chinese high school student who had never even touched a real gun," Susie explained.

"What the?!" Juliet stared at Lu Mingfei in astonishment, her eyes wide as if she were looking at some rare dragon fossil. "Never touched a gun? How is that possible? Judging from the 'One Day of Freedom' video, he's at least a seasoned sniper. His breathing technique and stability are top-notch. How could he never have touched a gun?!"

Susie smiled wryly and said, "I was also surprised when I found out, but the truth is that it was Junior Brother Lu's first time firing a gun during 'A Day of Freedom.' But he accurately sniped me and Caesar with his first shot."

"Perhaps this is what 'S-class' is all about."

Lu Mingfei, meanwhile, let out a soft breath and put away his gun. His movements were so natural that it was as if he had just won a trivial ranking match on the interstellar ladder, rather than a real combat shooting exercise.

He jogged over to the two men who had been knocked down, crouched down to check their carotid arteries and pupils, and after confirming that the anesthetic had taken effect, he grabbed them by the back of their collars, one in each hand, and carried them like two sacks of potatoes, easily walking towards the overturned pickup truck, casually tossing them next to his accomplices who were already piled up together.

Chu Zihang had completely subdued the bald gang leader, handcuffing his hands behind his back with a pair of gleaming, clearly alchemical handcuffs, and tossing them onto the sand like trash. In less than two minutes, all seven armed gang members were incapacitated, lying sprawled on the ground. Faced with a mixed-race elite squad that completely outmatched them in equipment, skill, and intelligence, these seemingly fierce thugs couldn't even muster a semblance of resistance.

If Chu Zihang and his group wanted to, they could probably kidnap the president in an hour or two.

"I didn't expect that Chu Zihang, the ace of the Execution Department, would be so enthusiastic." Leo tried to imitate Chu Zihang's perpetually icy profile and cold tone, lowering his voice: "'Prioritize the mission above all else, and don't get involved unless absolutely necessary.' and things like that."

The still-shaken illegal immigrants helped each other climb out of the car. After confirming their safety, someone took the lead and they all knelt down in front of Chu Zihang, tears streaming down their faces. They expressed their gratitude and lingering fear in heavily accented Spanish and simple English, their voices choked with sobs.

The handcuffed bald leader spat out a mouthful of bloody saliva, glaring fiercely at Chu Zihang. Despite his gaping teeth, he still forced a threatening tone: "Who...who are you people?! How dare you touch 'Viper'! Do you know that we...have connections with the US military behind us! If you know what's good for you, release us immediately! If we don't get back before dark, it won't just be us coming! None of you will escape!"

"Bang!"

A muffled thud. Susie had appeared beside him unnoticed, her eyes icy cold. Without warning, she raised her tactical boot and kicked him precisely in his incessantly chattering mouth! The force was perfectly controlled, silencing him instantly as a mouthful of blood mixed with his two front teeth spurted out, yet without causing fatal damage.

"Enough with the nonsense." Susie flicked non-existent dust off the tips of her boots. "Juliet, use the Truth Potion to ask these guys if they know anything about the third generation."

"it is good."

Lu Mingfei watched this scene, understanding dawning on him. Brainwashing, hypnosis, truth serum… these things, found only in science fiction movies and novels, were merely common techniques applied through alchemy and the power of words in the world of Kassel College and the hybrid race. No wonder the college was so strict about secrecy, requiring the erasure of unrelated individuals' memories after a mission. If these things were to fall into the wrong hands, the chaos they would cause would far exceed ordinary people's imagination.

Lu Mingfei walked to Chu Zihang's side, looked at the illegal immigrants kneeling in front of Chu Zihang, and asked, "Senior brother, what should we do with these people?" Lu Mingfei silently took out a memory erasure device. His main task this time was to be a logistics person responsible for erasing the memories of irrelevant personnel.

Chu Zihang's golden eyes lit up slightly for a moment.

He spoke, his voice not loud, yet like a block of ice hitting the sand, clear and cold, reaching everyone's ears. Surprisingly, he spoke fluent and standard Spanish:

"There's no need to act anymore."

"You are not ordinary people."

His gaze was like a knife, piercing the middle-aged man and another young man beside him who had been silent all along but whose physique was unusual.

"You have the scent of blood on you."
