Entertainment Industry: I am a top-tier movie star

Chapter 45: Shall we go up and sit down?

Time flew by and it was February 20th, the day to return to school.

As the excitement and trivialities of winter break faded, Chen Nianbei embarked on her journey back to school once again.

Back at school, the dormitories were a bit more lively, but still deserted.

My roommates haven't returned to school yet.

Chen Nianbei quickly packed her luggage, took a shower, and washed away the fatigue of the journey.

My phone buzzed and vibrated; it was Nazar.

"Have you arrived at school yet?"

"Just arrived at the dorm. Are you in the apartment?"

Naza returned to school two days earlier than him, and Sister Li had already rented an apartment for her.

"Yeah! Come over when you're done packing? I'll send you my location."

The location was sent quickly; it was a mid-range residential area not far from the school.

Chen Nianbei changed her clothes and followed the navigation to find the place.

The neighborhood environment is indeed much better than the dormitory building; it's quiet and has nice greenery.

I rang the doorbell, and the door opened quickly.

Naza was wearing a light pink loungewear sweatshirt, her hair loosely tied back, revealing her fair neck. Her face looked fresh, as if she had just washed it. She seemed to have lost a little weight compared to before the winter break, but her eyes were bright and full of smiles.

"Come in quickly!" She stepped aside, her tone light and cheerful.

The apartment is small, with two bedrooms and a living room, but the decoration is simple and cozy, and the lighting is excellent.

The living room is furnished with a beige fabric sofa and a small coffee table, with a plush carpet on the floor and two potted green plants on the windowsill, exuding vitality.

"Not bad." Chen Nianbei looked around and changed into slippers at the door.

"Sister Li found it. She said this neighborhood has good security and is conveniently located near schools and workplaces."

Naza closed the door, his tone tinged with a hint of smugness, yet also with the excitement of sharing his "secret hideout" with the most important person in his life.

"The rent is a bit expensive, but the company pays for it."

She pulled Chen Nianbei to sit down on the sofa and went to the kitchen to pour him a glass of water.

Are you hungry?

As Naza asked the question, she sat down next to him. They were very close, and Chen Nianbei could smell the fragrance of her shower gel.

"A little, I didn't eat anything on the train." Chen Nianbei took the water cup.

"That's perfect, I haven't eaten either. Shall we go out to eat? There's a pretty good Hangzhou-style restaurant near the entrance of our complex, something light and simple."

Naza suggested, then suddenly remembered something, "Or... order takeout? I can't cook..."

Seeing her slightly embarrassed expression, Chen Nianbei smiled and said, "Let's eat out; it'll save you the trouble."

The Hangzhou-style restaurant at the entrance of the residential area has an elegant environment, and there aren't many people there at this time.

After ordering several signature dishes, while waiting for the food, Naza talked about her upcoming plans.

"Sister Li has a very full schedule for me. I have a magazine shoot in a few days, a brand event in the middle of the month, and I have to record a variety show at the end of the month... and I also have to squeeze in time to audition for roles."

She counted on her fingers, her tone a little complaining, but mostly filled with anticipation and a subtle sense of pressure for her new job.

"That's normal; having job opportunities is a good thing."

Chen Nianbei picked up a piece of shrimp for her. "It's just the beginning, so more exposure won't hurt. Just take care of your health and don't overwork yourself."

"Yes, I know."

Naza ate a shrimp, her eyes crinkling into a smile. "What about you? You joined the crew in early March? It shouldn't be cold in Hengdian, right?"

"Reporting in, number one. First, a group reading and makeup trial. It should be warmer than Beijing, but still not very warm."

Chen Nianbei said, "I've read almost all of the script. Ling Yue has a lot of scenes and a lot of action scenes. I estimate he'll be on set for two or three months."

"Does that mean we won't see each other for a long time?"

Naza put down his chopsticks, his tone clearly showing disappointment.

"That's how it is when filming. You're welcome to visit the set whenever you have time."

Chen Nianbei spoke casually.

"Really?" Naza's eyes lit up.

"The production crew didn't say we couldn't visit the set."

Chen Nianbei found it a bit funny to see her suddenly come back to life. "But it depends on your schedule. Don't let it interfere with important matters."

"Okay!"

Naza's mood improved again, and she started chattering about the fun things that happened at home during the winter vacation.

By the time we finished eating, it was already dark.

The two walked slowly back along the pebble path in the neighborhood.

When they arrived at the apartment building, Naza said, "It's still early, why don't you come up and sit for a while?"

Her eyes held a hint of shyness and anticipation.

Chen Nianbei found her expression amusing and nodded with a smile.

Back in the apartment, Naza closed the door and turned on the warm floor lamp in the living room.

The soft lighting enveloped the small space in a tranquil atmosphere.

Naza kicked off her slippers, curled up on the sofa, and looked at Chen Nianbei with bright eyes.

Chen Nianbei took off his coat and draped it over the back of the chair before sitting down next to her.

The sofa was soft, and the two of them sank into it, instantly closing the distance between them.

The faint fragrance emanating from Naza mingled with the warm air in the room, spreading silently.

"I've missed you so much these past few days..."

Naza said in a low voice, her fingers unconsciously twirling the strap of her hoodie, her gaze falling on Chen Nianbei's profile, her ears turning slightly red.

"Yeah, me too."

Chen Nianbei replied, turning to look at her.

Under the light, her eyelashes were long and delicate, and her lips looked moist from having just drunk water.

The atmosphere quieted down subtly, with only the faint sound of the air conditioner running.

Naza suddenly moved, turned around, and faced him directly.

She reached out and lightly touched his chin with her fingertips, then slid down to his Adam's apple, a gesture that was both tentative and provocative.

Her fingertips were warm, and her movements were somewhat awkward.

How much do you miss me?

Chen Nianbei looked at her without moving, his Adam's apple bobbing slightly under her fingertips.

What do you think?

Encouraged, Naza became bolder.

She leaned closer, rested her head on his chest, tilted her face up, and breath brushed against his chin.

"I have no idea……"

As she spoke, her lips brushed lightly against his skin, and her hand moved down his chest, where she could feel the contours of his muscles through his thin sweater.

Her heart was beating so fast that it could be felt even through her clothes.

Chen Nianbei's breathing quickened slightly. He raised his hand and grasped her wandering wrist, looking at her with burning eyes:

"Nazar".

"Um?"

Naza stopped what she was doing, looking at him with a dreamy gaze, like a kitten waiting to be petted.

Chen Nianbei didn't say anything more. He looked at her and pulled her closer with a little force.

With his other hand, he stroked the back of her neck, his fingertips running through her loose hair.

Naza obediently closed her eyes, her long eyelashes trembling slightly.

Just as their lips touched.

"Ding-dong—Ding-dong—"

The doorbell rang out without warning.

Naza suddenly opened his eyes, his body stiffened, and a look of panic and annoyance at being interrupted flashed across his face.

Chen Nianbei paused for a moment, then released his grip, his expression returning to calm.

"Who is it...so late..."

Naza muttered under her breath, reluctantly getting up from Chen Nianbei, straightening the messy collar of her hoodie, stepping barefoot onto the carpet, walking to the door, and looking out through the peephole.

After just one glance, the expression on her face became quite interesting.

Panic and surprise, along with a little bit of guilt for being caught.

She turned around and mouthed to Chen Nianbei silently, "It's my assistant, Xiao Yang."

Then, she took a deep breath, adjusted her facial expression, and opened the door.

Standing outside the door was a round-faced girl in her early twenties, simply dressed, pulling a rather large suitcase and carrying a backpack on her back, looking travel-worn.

"Sister Naza!"

The girl saw her and immediately smiled, her voice clear and bright.

"Sister Li asked me to come and live with you so she can take care of you and help with your schedule. Why are you so surprised? Didn't Sister Li tell you?"

Naza paused for a moment, then opened her mouth, "Ah... Sister Li did mention it, but she didn't say it would be today..."

"Sister Li said she was worried that you wouldn't be used to living alone and that you might be too busy to eat, so she asked me to come over and take care of you as soon as possible."

Assistant Yang explained dutifully, glancing curiously into the room, where she saw Chen Nianbei standing up from the sofa.

Xiao Yang's smile faltered, and a hint of caution appeared in her eyes, because Sister Li had specifically instructed her to be wary of Na Zha's scheme.

Xiao Yang nodded politely to Chen Nianbei: "This must be Teacher Chen Nianbei, right?"

"Hello there."

Chen Nianbei nodded calmly, as if nothing had happened on the sofa.

Naza stood awkwardly at the door, glancing at Xiao Yang and then at Chen Nianbei, mentally "complaining" about Sister Li a hundred times over.

What do you mean by "convenient to take care of"? They were clearly sent to "monitor" us!

They even deliberately chose this time!

"Um... Xiao Yang, please come in first."

Naza stepped aside, his tone somewhat dejected.

Xiao Yang came in pulling his suitcase, and wisely didn't ask any questions, only saying:

"Sister Naza, which room do I need?"

"Oh, which room are you sleeping in?"

Naza pointed to the guest room.

Chen Nianbei had already picked up his coat and calmly said to Nazha:

"It's getting late. You have things to do tomorrow, and I need to go back and pack up so I can get some rest."

He nodded to Xiao Yang again, "You all settle in, I'll be going now."

Naza saw him to the door, her eyes filled with reluctance and frustration, and whispered:

"Sister Li is really something..."

"It's alright, there's plenty of time."

Chen Nianbei said softly, raising his hand to ruffle her hair, "Call me if you need anything."

"Hmm..." Naza pouted.

As Chen Nianbei walked into the elevator, the elevator doors slowly closed, and Na Zha dejectedly closed the door behind him.
