Chapter 11: Arrogance? Absolutely overwhelming strength!
"As expected, your chief's words still carry weight. I talked to Rod for ages last night, but that guy insisted I bombed the school and wouldn't transfer anyone to me."
Horn chuckled self-deprecatingly.
"Bombing the school?! Haha, that's something someone your age would do."
Natasha paused for a moment, then couldn't help but laugh out loud.
"You're laughing a little too loudly."
Horn rolled his eyes at her.
"You must be Mr. Hornstack?"
Just then, a burly soldier, over 1.8 meters tall, stepped out of the ranks and interrupted their conversation.
"Yes, it's me. And you are?"
Horn turned to look at him.
"Hello, my name is Black Hunter, captain of Cheetah Six. You can just call me Black."
Upon receiving confirmation, Blackhunter immediately gave a military salute.
This scene, however, caused an uproar among his teammates.
"What?! He's Hornstark?! So young?!"
"Seriously? The captain actually saluted him? Does he even deserve it?"
"Fuck, you expect us to take orders from this kid? What's the difference between that and sending us to our deaths?"
The whispers were made without any attempt to conceal them, and the looks they gave Horn were filled with hostility; their defiance was written all over their faces.
"Your team members seem to have a lot of issues with me?"
Horn smiled and stared at Captain Blackhunt in front of him.
"That's right, given your age and status, we're being told to obey your orders. To be honest, I'm also very resentful."
Blackhunter did not shy away from the topic and brought the issue to the forefront.
"I understand, I really like your frankness."
Horn wasn't surprised. Putting himself in the other person's shoes, he wouldn't agree to take orders from an inexperienced young man to go to the battlefield and rescue hostages.
The battlefield is not child's play; lives can be lost at any moment. They cannot entrust their lives to someone they don't know at all and have no trust in.
Gaining their trust was not difficult for Horn.
"How about we make a bet? Whoever can defeat me will have this mission canceled, and whoever can't will have to obey my orders. What do you say?"
After he finished speaking, his gaze fell on the crowd, and a calm smile remained on his face throughout.
"You said it yourself!"
Immediately, someone stepped forward, but before they could go any closer, their teammate pulled them back, saying, "Are you crazy! Look at his small frame, what if he gets seriously injured? Can you afford to pay for it?"
"Small build?"
Horn was stunned for a moment. He considered his body proportions to be perfect, especially after acquiring those skills and the [Basic Physique Enhancer]. His muscle lines had been optimized, becoming incredibly defined and symmetrical, making him practically a god-tier guy!
Besides, his height of 1.95 meters is quite impressive, making him the tallest person present, even more than 10 centimeters taller than most of the soldiers. Yet, in their eyes, he appears to be small.
"Don't worry, even if you manage to catch me, I'll consider it a loss. If you hurt me, it's my own fault, I won't blame you, is that alright?"
He couldn't help but chuckle, adding a couple of words to dispel their concerns.
"You think you can just accept defeat even if we catch you?! That's incredibly arrogant!"
"I'll do it!"
"Count me in!"
As soon as Horn finished speaking, seven or eight soldiers stepped forward.
Blackhunter, too, wanted to personally experience the skills of the second son of the Stark Group.
"No problem, all of you can come at me together."
Horn nodded and then beckoned to everyone with his finger.
"Come at me all at once? Looks like you're not only arrogant, you're downright conceited!"
Blackhunt was stunned, feeling insulted; he had actually been provoked by a child!
"Alex Weiss, captain of Team A, three-time California kickboxing champion, please advise!"
They didn't waste any words; a dark-skinned soldier stepped forward and introduced himself.
"bring it on."
Horn put down the weapon case in his hand and stepped forward. What angered everyone even more was that he actually put his hands behind his back!
"OMG Fuck!"
Alex Weiss cursed and immediately took action.
His posture was very standard; he used his legs to exert force, concentrating the power in his fist and smashing it straight at Horn's face.
The jab is a type of free fighting punch that emphasizes speed and accuracy. If you are not able to dodge it in time and get hit, you will be dizzy on the spot, followed by a whole set of combos!
"Go, Alec! Smash his face until it's a bloody mess!"
The soldiers standing behind him cheered him on.
Unexpectedly, the next second, a figure flew straight backward and crashed several meters away.
"Next."
Horn's calm voice followed.
"Alec got wiped out instantly?"
"What just happened? How did he fly out like that?"
The entire area was stunned for a full three seconds before the soldiers snapped out of their shock.
"Shit! Alec's fighting skills are among the top ten! How could he not even withstand a single move from his opponent?"
Their eyes showed disbelief; some couldn't accept this outcome.
"I refuse to believe it! This time it's my turn! Team B captain, Kiran Hall, national Sanda champion!"
The young white man with short blond hair, refusing to believe it, stepped forward.
However, less than three seconds later, the same scene happened again. He was kicked away by Horn like a ball.
Of course, Horn didn't use his full strength; he just gave them a minor, harmless lesson that wouldn't break them, only make them feel embarrassed.
"Was I seeing things? He only kicked once?"
Some people who watched the attack closely know how they were thrown out.
"This is too much of a waste of time. You should all come at me together."
Horn felt there was no challenge, so he beckoned to them again.
"This guy is really surprising."
Natasha, who was watching the show from a short distance away with her arms crossed, had a look of surprise in her eyes.
This was the first time she had a direct experience of Horn's skills. Judging from those two kicks, she could basically tell that even she wasn't confident she could beat him.
She controlled the speed, power, and accuracy of her shots perfectly, something she herself couldn't do.
And she could clearly sense that Horn was completely at ease throughout the process, looking relaxed, as if he hadn't even used 20% of his strength!
"Attack together!"
The soldiers dropped their disdainful expressions, no longer thinking the other party was arrogant, and subconsciously began to take them seriously.
When Horn saw this, the corners of his mouth turned up slightly; he had achieved the effect he wanted.
To deal with these soldiers, we need swift and decisive action, an absolute crushing victory!
Only by completely subduing them can we earn their respect.
