Chapter 19 As expected of Naruto

"Take a break, Sasuke."

Upon hearing Naruto's words, Sasuke's eyes lit up, even though he was already exhausted.

He looked at Naruto and asked excitedly, "Are we going to eat ramen?"

Upon hearing this, Naruto was speechless. He never expected that Sasuke would take his casual remark from a few days ago so seriously.

Seeing Sasuke's excited expression, Naruto covered his face and explained again.

"Listen, Sasuke, Ichiraku Ramen doesn't have any effect on boosting chakra. The warm feeling you experienced the first time you ate there was just the temperature of the ramen, and the flow of chakra was just because your tired body got some rest. Besides..."

At this point, Naruto's voice became incredibly serious: "What you felt like gushing out in the end wasn't chakra, it was just that you were too full and wanted to vomit, that's all!"

Upon hearing Naruto's explanation, Sasuke simply nodded, looking at Naruto with an expression that said, "Yes, yes, I know. I'm just a little hungry. Yes, I'm a little hungry."

Hearing Sasuke's words, Naruto couldn't say anything more. He could only sigh and disperse the surrounding shadow clones, then lead Sasuke into the village.

But the further Naruto walked, the more suffocated he felt. He couldn't understand why, after he had clearly explained things to Sasuke a few days ago and Sasuke had accepted the truth, he suddenly started to believe the rumors about Ichiraku Ramen that Sasuke had told him.

Thinking of this, Naruto asked directly, "Sasuke, why do you believe so much that Ichiraku Ramen can help you become stronger?"

Upon hearing this, Sasuke maintained his "I'll definitely keep this a secret" expression, feigning ignorance as he asked, "Why do you ask? Don't we already know that Ichiraku Ramen is just a regular ramen restaurant?"

Hearing Sasuke deliberately emphasize the word "ordinary," Naruto's face darkened, and he raised his hand to lightly tap Sasuke on the head.

Answer my question.

Seeing that Naruto was very serious, Sasuke stopped pretending and answered truthfully, "Naruto, don't you know? The whole village is already talking about Ichiraku Ramen."

"Has it spread?"

Naruto was even more confused by this, and he pressed for an answer, asking, "What does that mean?"

"It's spread like wildfire! Now all the ninjas are talking about how Ichiraku Ramen helps with chakra refinement, and even ordinary people believe that eating more Ichiraku Ramen can help their children become ninjas. Isn't that what you said, Naruto?"

"When did I say that?!"

Seeing Sasuke's expression, Naruto gritted his teeth and asked a question, but still sighed.

"It's just a rumor, it shouldn't cause any major problems, right?"

"How could this happen?"

After a morning of missions, Sakura, starving, looked at the packed Ichiraku Ramen restaurant and her expression instantly turned gloomy.

Yi Le Noodle Shop has always had a decent business, otherwise it wouldn't have been able to stay in the village for decades.

But this is not bad; it only allows the restaurant to earn a comfortable income each month, with about 10 to 20 regular customers coming to eat every day.

But now.

Looking at the crowd queuing from the noodle shop entrance all the way to the end of the street, Sakura felt like her whole being had shattered.

"Oh dear, looks like we won't be able to get any."

Looking up at the endless crowd at Icha Icha Paradise, Kakashi casually remarked, then turned to Sakura, "Looks like we'll have to find somewhere else. I'm going to eat barbecue, what about you, Sakura?"

Looking at the crowd that stretched to the end of the street and was still growing, a determined look flashed in Sakura's eyes. She ran to the end of the line almost instantly, looked at the noodle shop that seemed so far away, and replied with utmost seriousness.

"Go ahead, Kakashi-sensei, I still want to wait in line a little longer."

Kakashi glanced at the seriousness in Sakura's eyes, nodded, and disappeared into the street.

His more than ten years as a ninja allowed him to see through Sakura's thoughts at a glance.

The fact that Naruto and Sasuke always participated in the D-rank missions these days, using shadow clones, has put immense pressure on this ordinary-born girl.

So even if the chances were slim, she didn't want to miss out on this bowl of ramen that might boost her chakra.

Thinking of this, Kakashi couldn't help but feel a little doubtful.

"Does this ramen really have some kind of magical effect?"

Although he told Sakura a few days ago that the ramen at Ichiraku Ramen contained a secret about becoming stronger, he didn't actually believe it.

After all, Ichiraku Ramen has been around for so long that it had already taken root in Konoha before Kakashi was even born. If it really had any secrets, how could it have only been discovered now?

But considering the sudden ramen craze that had swept through Konoha these past few days, Kakashi was starting to have second thoughts.

He frowned, suddenly feeling a little less inclined to eat barbecue.

"If it's true, as everyone says, that Ichiraku Ramen can promote chakra refinement, then..."

It has to be said that Kakashi, who was suffering from a lack of chakra, was somewhat tempted.

He stopped, hesitated for a moment, and then turned around and walked towards the noodle shop.

But as soon as he turned around, he saw two people.

"Naruto, Sasuke?"

Naruto, who was racking his brains trying to figure out how to persuade Sasuke, who was obsessed with eating ramen, looked up when he heard that familiar voice. Upon seeing the person in front of him, the struggle on his face instantly turned into relief.

"Naruto, does grilled meat have this effect too?"

"Of course! This is Kakashi-sensei's secret recipe! Right, Kakashi-sensei?"

Upon hearing Naruto's words, Kakashi's face darkened, but he still agreed, "That's right, Sasuke, remember to keep this a secret."

After uttering those words almost through gritted teeth, Kakashi took a sip of sake, inwardly complaining...

"How could I actually believe such nonsense?!"

Thinking about his earlier decision to go to Ichiraku Ramen, Kakashi was speechless and almost laughed.

Just now, he saw Naruto looking conflicted and Sasuke looking resentful on the street. Before he could ask what had happened to his two students who had been missing for so long, he heard Naruto speak first.

"It's Kakashi-sensei! Quick! Sasuke! Kakashi-sensei has the secret recipe from outside Ichiraku Noodle Shop!"

And so, Kakashi, completely bewildered, was dragged into the Akimichi family's barbecue restaurant by the two of them.

It was in this barbecue restaurant that he learned the origin of the recent rumors about ramen in the village.

It turned out to be just a joke Naruto was playing on Sasuke.

Upon learning the truth, Kakashi felt an indescribable sense of absurdity.

He saw Sasuke's photo at Ichiraku Ramen and thought a lot about why this Uchiha orphan could suddenly eat so much. His analysis even caused this uproar.

But he never expected that this was yet another prank by Naruto.

This made Kakashi, who had thought Naruto had turned over a new leaf, look at Naruto with a wistful expression.

"What can I say? As expected of Naruto."
