The Silent Witch of Hogwarts
Chapter 46: Encounters in Diagon Alley
"call!"
Holding the medicinal herbs, Loila let out a long sigh of relief... She had really had bad luck this morning.
First, I encountered a large group of people... then I ran into Mr. Burke... who actually wanted to take action because his shop was shut down.
Even though I knocked him down, another student saw it...
That must be a student, right? Why would there be a student in a sealed-off shop? How does the Ministry of Magic operate?
I don't know if he can understand what I mean... Please don't tell the Ministry of Magic that I've been dueling with someone in secret...
Loila felt that if the Ministry of Magic found out, she would definitely be invited for a chat... and that wouldn't be all, she might even run into that Mr. Parkinson's.
But all of this is over now. All I need to do is carry these datura plants back to the tavern... back to that quiet room where it's just me...
"what!"
As Loila was thinking this, she bumped her head into a wall... or maybe it wasn't a wall, it was just a tall man.
"Haihaihaihaihaihaige!" Upon seeing the man's appearance, Loila trembled and took a few steps back.
It's Hagrid, the man-eater!
Why are you... in Knockover Alley... are you... hungry?
"Huh?" The giant paused for a moment upon seeing Loila, then flashed a wide grin: "Miss Hamilton! Good morning!"
"Ah... good morning... good morning." Loila pursed her lips and shrank back, while clenching her wand tightly. If Hagrid was really hungry, she would suggest that he eat Mr. Burke, who should still be unconscious.
"What did you buy?" Because Loila was wearing a mask, Hagrid didn't know that she was actually pale with fear. He smiled and said to Loila, "Is it for class?"
"No...no..." Loila carefully shook her head: "These are for...to refine wolfsbane...wolfsbane potion."
"Wolfsbane?" Hagrid paused, then looked thoughtfully at Loila and muttered, "Professor Dumbledore never said Miss Hamilton was a werewolf..."
"Also... also?" Loila was also taken aback. Did Hagrid know about Mr. Lupin?
"Ah...yes, I have a friend named Lou...I shouldn't have said this! I shouldn't have said this!" Hagrid shook his head as if realizing something, but Loila still heard him.
"You know Mr. Lupin?" she asked, somewhat surprised.
"Ah...that's right." Hagrid scratched his head and said, "Remus and I are friends."
Mr. Lupin's friend! So... Hagrid at least doesn't eat werewolves, right?
This should be considered good news...
"I...I understand," Loila nodded and said, "I...Mr. Lupin and I...are also friends."
"So please...please don't eat...eat me...I probably don't...taste good."
Her timid words left Hagrid stunned. He shook his head, his somewhat dirty face filled with hesitation.
Then he flashed a good-natured smile: "Hahahaha! Miss Hamilton is so funny!"
"Eek!" His words made Loila take several steps back in fear. What did he mean by "I'm funny"... Did he mean that telling him not to eat people was a funny joke? Or was it that the fact I don't taste good was funny...?
But I can't laugh out loud no matter which one it is!
Seeing Loila take a few more steps back, Hagrid seemed to realize what was going on. He quickly said, "Miss Hamilton, what I mean is... I don't eat people."
"Is...is that so?" Loila asked softly, "Really?"
"Even if you eat... me... I won't tell the Ministry of Magic."
"Hahahahaha." Hagrid laughed again: "Giants haven't been eating people for a long time."
"And I'm not a pure-blooded Titan, I'm a half-Titan." He said, holding up his hand to compare his height with Royla's: "If I were a true pure-blooded Titan..."
"Miss Hamilton, you're probably only as tall as his knee."
I shouldn't be... that... short, right?
But the half-giant... Royla looked at Hagrid with some surprise. Hagrid looked just like her...
Wait, didn't Hagrid just say he doesn't eat people?
Loila shuddered, her previously pale face instantly turning red, even her pointed ears turned bright red.
I can't believe I said so many rude things!
"I'm sorry... I'm so sorry, Mr. Hagrid! I didn't... I didn't mean to..."
"If you're angry... then just eat me..."
"Ah! No... that's not what I meant..."
My tongue is so clumsy!
When it comes to crucial moments, they can't come up with any coherent and nice things!
Seeing Loila stammering, Hagrid laughed even louder, his gruff voice carrying far through Knockdown Alley.
"Miss Hamilton, you are quite an interesting person." He said, reaching out to pat Loila on the shoulder, and with each pat, Loila seemed to shrink a few feet.
"Sorry...sorry," Loila muttered, her legs bent.
“No need for that, Miss Hamilton,” Hagrid said, shaking his head. “I heard about you from Professor Dumbledore.”
"My...thing?" Loila paused for a moment and looked at Hagrid. She remembered that Hagrid almost let slip his name on the first day he met Parkinson.
Dumbledore, you actually told Mr. Hagrid about my affairs too?
Ah... my own affairs don't seem to be a big deal... after all, Dumbledore doesn't know about Lord Grindelwald and me...
"Yeah, that's fifty years..." Hagrid shrugged.
"Ah! Is this something that can't be discussed here?" He glanced at the hurried wizards around him, as if he had just realized something.
"I guess...right?" Loila said somewhat awkwardly, "There are... a lot of people here..."
"Let's talk about it at Hogwarts then."
It would be even more inappropriate to say this at Hogwarts, wouldn't it? If you're going to say it, you should say it in Nurmengard...
But after hearing Hagrid's concluding remarks, Loira nodded slightly and said, "I...I have something to do..."
"I'm leaving now..." Before she could finish speaking, she quickly left.
Hagrid couldn't help but laugh as he watched her hurried figure nearly trip over the steps.
It's really hard to imagine that a girl who is as tall as a student is already over sixty years old... Is this Veela?
Hagrid shook his head and walked toward Diagon Alley, intending to buy something to feed his spider friends, but before he had gone a few steps, he felt someone tug at his sleeve.
"Harry?!" Hagrid's eyes widened when he saw the man's appearance. "What are you doing here?"
"This is not a place for little wizards like you."
"Who...who was that person just now?" Harry seemed too preoccupied to explain. He asked in a low voice, "The person who was talking to you."
"Ah?" Hagrid paused and said, "You mean Miss Hamilton?"
"I don't know his name either... Wait, is she a young lady?" Harry was also stunned.
"Well, Miss Hamilton is a half-blood..." Hagrid coughed and said, "She's the new professor at Hogwarts."
Have you seen it before?
"You should have seen it before, right?" Harry thought for a moment and recounted what had just happened. When he heard the pale green spell, Hagrid's expression immediately turned serious.
"Harry!" he interrupted Harry, "Don't tell anyone about this..."
"I'll ask Miss Hamilton." He pursed his lips and frowned. "That old man Burke is really crazy..."
"They actually used the Killing Curse..."
"What is the Killing Curse?" Harry asked immediately upon hearing the word.
"It's nothing!" Hagrid realized he might have let something slip again, and frowned as he said, "You'd better leave here quickly!"
"It's better if the young wizard doesn't know about this!"
