Chapter 52 West Coast
Chapter 52 West Coast
Upon arriving at the branch, Coulson mysteriously brought him a piece of equipment: a box that resembled a waist pouch. Inside the all-black box were the willow-leaf throwing knives that Link had used before.
Placed on the lower back, there is a special half-finger glove with control buttons. Pressing the button will pop out throwing knives from both sides of the box, which can hold one hundred willow leaf throwing knives.
Link liked it very much. After equipping it, he tried it out and found it to be more convenient than the waist pack, but it could only hold so little.
There are four in total, all made for him by the S.H.I.E.L.D. technical department. Naturally, they can't compare to Hawkeye's equipment. In S.H.I.E.L.D.'s view, the throwing knife's shooting range is limited after all.
They didn't know how far Link could shoot, but Link didn't care. He could also equip himself with a large number of firearms, so he could save the throwing knives for close combat.
He put the things aside and then asked, "Culson, what do I need to access someone else's computer and copy the data inside?"
"That's easy!" Coulson quickly brought over a USB drive, much larger than those sold in stores. "Just plug it in, and it will automatically crack and download the software. You can keep this."
"What else do we need?"
"A car, preferably a fast sports car, black for nighttime concealment," Link thought for a moment and then made another request.
This would make it easier for him to track Stark. If Obadiah Stanislav wanted to seize the energy core, he would have to take action against Stark, and then it would be a natural thing for him to capture him.
However, he didn't know the exact time, and there was no guarantee that it would be accurate. "There's also a sniper rifle."
"Okay, I'll arrange it." Coulson quickly got everything ready, and Link put all the things in the car, then gave a shout and drove straight back to the hotel.
Jessica was back. Seeing Link come in, she immediately said, "Honey, there's a dinner party tonight for us shareholders."
"No problem, I'll go with you." Link then said, "It seems we need to buy a house here; we'll probably be coming here often in the future."
"Sure, it's up to you." Jessica was indifferent, but she still asked, "Are we still buying an apartment?"
"An apartment?" Link thought for a moment, then shook his head. "No, let's buy a villa this time!"
"It's different here than in New York. Villas are better, so we don't have to worry about the floors and beds," Link joked.
Jessica blushed. She couldn't control herself at crucial moments and always used a lot of force, otherwise they wouldn't be doing it in the gym now.
"If we buy a villa, we can also set up a gym, which will make it convenient to train."
……
Tony Stark did not show up at the party that evening. This was part of Stanislav's strategy. On one hand, he was trying to win over shareholders and use the closure of the weapons division to unite them in suppressing Stark. On the other hand, he was also preparing for the future.
Link and Jessica are new faces, and this time they control 10% of the shares. Although it's under the guise of a charitable foundation, everyone knows it's Link's private property.
Stanislav was very enthusiastic, and Link was only superficially polite. Link suggested that they visit Stark Industries' headquarters and factory the next day.
Stanislav immediately agreed, saying he would send someone to pick them up from the hotel the next day and then take them on a tour.
After the party, the two went out for a late-night snack before returning to their hotel to rest.
……
The next day, as expected, people from Stark Industries arrived and took the two of them to the factory. Link was indeed curious about the place, and he also used his X-ray vision to observe and discovered that the Iron Monger was under construction.
With that, Link had a better understanding of the situation, and next up was Stark Industries' headquarters building.
Stark Industries has an exhibition in New York, which was built during World War II, but it is currently closed, and Tony Stark does not usually appear in New York.
Link and Jessica toured the area upwards, but they didn't see everything; they just got a general overview. There were some research and development departments, which were the focus of their visit.
Link was quite curious about these things, but then a question arose: how did he get into Stanislavski's office?
Only there can we find evidence of his weapons smuggling, and with that evidence, S.H.I.E.L.D. can take action against him and even help Stark regain more of his shares.
However, Nick Fury may not hand over the shares to Stark; he might arrange for someone else to take over them, which would be easy for S.H.I.E.L.D. to do anyway.
Link calculated how much Nick Fury had earned from the evidence he had provided.
"This is really nice. It's my first time visiting the headquarters of a large corporation, but we'd like to take a break now," Link suddenly said.
"Of course, we have a VIP lounge here. Please follow me." A secretary led them to the lounge.
Link looked at it and was quite satisfied. He said, "That's fine. Let's rest for a while."
"I'll be right outside. You can call me anytime." The secretary closed the door and left. Link took out a cigar, and Jessica poured two glasses of wine, one of which was Link's favorite plum-flavored bourbon.
Link puffed on his cigar while constantly scanning with his X-ray vision, searching for Stanis's office. His gaze pierced through the floors, and he quickly located the location, then listened carefully.
Stark was in his office, talking to people in the military, since Stark's actions also affected the military.
Stanislav had to deal with the military's inquiries and make some assurances. It must be said that Stark Industries did indeed owe a debt to Stanislav.
Howard and Tony, father and son, are indeed geniuses, but they are not as good at business as Stanislavski.
……
A little while later, the secretary knocked on the door and came in, saying that Stanis wanted to see them. Link felt this was a good opportunity, so he took Jessica to Stanis's office.
Stark is the CEO, while Stein is the COO, but he is responsible for everything except research and development.
"Welcome to Stark Industries headquarters. Are you two satisfied with today?" Starni asked with a smile.
Link shook hands with the other party and then said, "Satisfied. This is the first time I've seen the headquarters of a large corporation. The conditions here are really good. It's a pity I don't have the talent for this."
"Mr. Lin, you're too modest. You started from scratch." Stani took out a cigar, clearly knowing Link's preferences, and then poured him a bourbon.
Link accepted it without ceremony and said, "It's nothing special, just good luck. Besides, I have some knowledge of psychology."
"I was lucky to have met Mr. Stark twice and know him somewhat. You could say I took a gamble this time, but luckily I'm pretty good at judging people."
