Chapter 33 Settling In

If Nick Fury hadn't given Link the mission, Link wouldn't have guided Bruce Banner in this way. But he was sent here, and to avoid any accidents, he had to firmly maintain the initiative. Otherwise, if the Hulk came out, he would have to fight with his true strength.

"Eat up, we'll leave as soon as we get a message." Link started eating the pizza heartily.

Bruce did the same. Soon Coulson sent a message with this address. Link and Bruce finished eating, got into the car, and then Link drove straight to the address.

"Hey, Coulson." This is a makeshift airport, a private property, with a private plane parked on the runway.

"Lin, your work is outstanding. The director has already taken action, and I believe the blood will be destroyed soon." Coulson then turned to Bruce and extended his hand. "Hello, Doctor. I've looked into your file; you're a genius."

"I am nothing now." Bruce was not in a good mood.

"Don't worry, Link is exceptionally good at psychology. He's never lost a game of poker and he's skilled at analyzing the psychology of all kinds of people." Coulson had great confidence in Link.

"Let's get on the plane and leave the country under a private name; that will cover your tracks."

"The cabin in the jungle is ready, and we've also arranged for people to lie in wait nearby to prevent anyone from looking for you. You'll be all alone within a fifty-mile radius," Coulson said as he walked.

"We've provided you with a hunting rifle to protect you from bears. We've also prepared three months' worth of food and water for you. However, there's no phone or internet. We hope you understand. If you need anything, please let us know."

"Book bar, give me some books," Bruce said.

"Yes, there are many world classics there, and of course we can prepare more if you don't like them," Coulson said. "There are also enough clothes; we can take a look around when we get there."

The three boarded the plane, which then took off and flew to Canada.

Before boarding the plane, Link informed Jessica that he would be away for a few days and told her not to worry, explaining that it was for a card game, but not in New York.

……

After getting off the plane, they took a car and drove into a deep forest. Link didn't know where he was, but it was a place that was far from human habitation.

After a few hours' drive, we finally arrived at a wooden cabin. The cabin was neither too big nor too small, but it was clearly empty, though it had already been tidied up.

After the three entered, they found a fireplace. Coulson went over, took some wood from the side, and lit it in the fireplace, as the Canadian climate is generally very cold.

Link and Bruce toured the place; much of it was new. Coulson remarked, "The people who set this up didn't know about the Doctor's situation; they just thought it was a protection plan."

"When we deliver supplies, we leave them about two miles away from here, and we'll leave you a vehicle with enough fuel."

"However, you'll have to do everything, including chopping wood. Also, there's no electricity or running water here, but there is a sewage system, this is a septic tank buried underground."

"The water source is in the small hut next door. There's a well there. If it freezes, remember to pour hot water on it."

Link said, "Since we're still here, let's lend a hand and at least give Bruce some time to adjust."

"That's a good suggestion," Coulson agreed.

The three quickly got to work, dividing the tasks: Coulson and Bruce chopped wood, while Link fetched water to fill the water tank in the cabin, making the facilities usable.

However, you should check the water tank regularly to prevent small animals from entering and affecting the water quality.

The three worked enthusiastically until noon, when they started cooking and eating. After that, Link and Coulson said their goodbyes.

Bruce stayed there. At first he was a little nervous, but he got used to it after a few days. There was really no one here. He would read a book by the fireplace at night and then go to sleep. In the morning he would go out to exercise.

He then tried to communicate with Hulk, but Hulk ignored him at first. However, Bruce had nothing else to do there and felt quite at ease, not needing to worry about the military coming to his door.

My mindset was very stable at this point, so I continued to try. After half a month, I was able to communicate with Hulk, which was a very strange feeling.

It was only then that he realized that Hulk was very similar to him when he was a child, except that he was the angry version of himself.

……

Link didn't go straight home. Instead, he went to Las Vegas, won a small fortune of $1.5 million, and then returned home.

After all, he told Jessica he was going out of town to participate in a poker game, and if he didn't get the money back, then Jessica would have to worry.

For the next period of time, Link had no missions, or rather, he continued to carry out his previous mission of gathering intelligence, moving between various card games, making friends with upper-class people in New York, and expanding his network of relationships.

It's hard to say for sure. As for intelligence, it's like waiting for a rabbit to run into a tree stump, while there's been no movement from Hell's Kitchen.

Have Coulson and his team already taken action?

Why is Kingpin still so active and dating?

Why are he and Daredevil still tearing at each other?

The Punisher hasn't taken any action yet, presumably because he was scared off after taking the Punisher's sniper rifle.

Regarding the Purple Man's gun case, the New York Police Department is conducting a thorough investigation. They have definitely found the sniper rifle, but no other clues were found at the scene, so they can only trace its origin.

The Punisher probably knows.

Link paid attention for a moment, then ignored it. Finding him was not easy, or even impossible.

That day, Link received a call from Karen Page, inviting him to meet. In the morning, Link dropped Jessica off to continue her studies, and then led the way to the Murdoch & Nelson law firm.

Upon entering, Matthew Murdoch, Virgil Nelson, and Karen Page were all present.

"Mr. Lin, welcome back again." Virginia was very enthusiastic, while Matthew's attitude was rather indifferent.

"You're welcome. What have you decided?" Link asked.

"We've thought it through. I agree to the acquisition, but I don't know the specifics of the acquisition..." Virgil Nelson asked with a smile.

"We can discuss that, but your law firm is indeed not worth much. However, I can invest in it!" Link said. "You two can get some shares, but definitely not many. Your income will mainly be salaries."

"Of course!" Virgil Nelson said immediately. "However, we hope to stay in West Midtown, since the people who need help are the largest here."
