Chapter 3 Killing God

"Is this a rookie?" The Irish gang leader was surprised to see a police car with only one officer get out. Only a rookie would rush over like this in Hell's Kitchen.

"NYPD, put down your weapons!" Link shouted again.

"Kill him!" These gangs don't care about the police. Although it will be troublesome, it's not a big problem.

"Bang bang..." Several people immediately turned their guns and fired at Link.

Link remained calm and ducked behind the car door. The front two doors of each police car were fitted with bulletproof steel plates.

"Calling headquarters, there's been a firefight, the enemy is firing at me, requesting backup." Link calmly reported the situation. Did the others want to watch the show?

That's impossible. I'm right here on the scene, and the gang opened fire on me, which means they opened fire on the police.

You can choose not to provide support, but the subsequent problems will be huge, since the police are your own people.

After Link reported, he activated X-Sight and looked ahead through the car door. The gang members fired a few shots at him and then ignored him.

He fired continuously, the pistol in his hand not moving at all, as if there was no recoil, the bullets flying towards the target one by one.

"Pfft, pfft..." One by one, heads were hit, red and white hairs scattered together.

In an instant, most of the Irish gang members were wiped out, and their firepower was reduced sharply.

The rest of them realized what was happening and turned around to look, only to find their companions lying on the ground.

"Damn it!" The leader was dumbfounded, but he wasn't stupid. "Retreat!"

Link heard it clearly and immediately fired another shot, killing the leader who gave the order.

"NYPD, drop your weapons!" Link warned again.

Multiple warnings are necessary; this is a program issue, and Link never makes program errors.

The remaining members of the Irish gang were terrified. Some of them dropped their weapons and then raised their hands; the enemy's marksmanship was too good.

Who can stand being shot in the head every time?

With someone taking the lead, the others naturally won't resist. They're familiar with being arrested by the police, but they don't need to risk being shot in the head.

They stood up, but they forgot that the Russian gang members were still inside the restaurant. Their firepower suddenly decreased, and then they saw the guys who attacked them raise their hands and stand up.

Driven to a bloodthirsty frenzy, they didn't care about the reason for the attack and rushed outside with their weapons, "Bang bang... rat-a-tat!"

Various weapons opened fire, instantly wiping out the Irishmen and emptying their magazines. Without even looking in Link's direction, they changed their magazines and prepared to finish him off.

"NYPD, drop your weapons!" Link shouted again, drawing their attention.

They all turned around, and at that moment their guns were pointed at Link, who promptly opened fire.

"Bang, bang..." This time he controlled the rate of fire, killing only two people and giving the others time.

Instinctively, one of them opened fire in Link's direction. Link saw several bullets flying towards him, none of which could hit him, but some did hit the police car.

He then pulled the trigger again, ending their lives. For a moment, the surroundings were eerily quiet except for the sound of sirens.

Link knew that there were almost no survivors left, only a few seriously injured people lying on the ground groaning.

He reported the situation to the control center again, announcing that the area was under control and that a large number of ambulances were needed. Only then did he walk over, gun in hand.

The surrounding patrol teams arrived at the scene one after another, cursing Link in their hearts. This newly promoted rookie really didn't know how to behave.

That makes sense, though. This guy is new here and in his own group. Nobody taught him the rules of Hell's Kitchen. Being a cop here isn't easy, especially with such low pay. Why risk your life?

When they arrived, they found that the gunfight seemed to have ended, and the rookie was searching the scene.

So everyone got off the bus, exclaiming, "Hey, newbie!"

Link turned his head, then gave the other person a smile and said, "You've come just in time. I was worried about how to handle the scene!"

Link put his gun back in its holster and then unbuckled his service belt. "I've shot and killed quite a few people. Who's in command on the scene?"

The police officers were stunned. They rushed forward to check the situation. There were corpses all over the ground, with only a few seriously injured people left, who were barely breathing.

Link was sent back to the precinct, where the officers looked at him with shock. There were more than forty people from the two gangs present, but only three were still alive.

It's only temporary because it depends on the effectiveness of the rescue efforts; it's uncertain whether the patient can be saved.

Link, accompanied by the on-site commander, described in detail his actions and the number of people killed, which exceeded twenty.

The union and lawyers were on his side, but Link still had to answer questions from the Ministry of the Interior. He had no right to remain silent; if he did, he would have to give up his job.

"Officer Klin, could you describe the situation at the scene in detail?" the Internal Affairs officer asked.

Link began to recount the details of the situation, from receiving the message from headquarters to when he received the call, and continued until the very end.

"I had already taken control of the gunmen outside the restaurant, but suddenly the people inside rushed out and opened fire on them," Link concluded. "I could only warn them again, but there were eight of them, each armed and pointing a weapon at me."

"I have no choice but to kill them!"

The Ministry of the Interior then asked, "Why are you always shooting at the head?"

"According to regulations, officers have the priority to protect themselves, but they also have the right to kill a suspect when faced with a threat," Link said. "There were more than forty people at the scene, and even more weapons. I was all alone. I fired my first shot to intimidate them and also to reduce their threat."

"The second shot was fired in self-defense."

"The 9mm pistol cartridge used in the Glock 19 is too weak; if it hits a larger target's torso, it is difficult to effectively eliminate the threat."

The Ministry of Internal Affairs asked again, "Are you very confident in your marksmanship?"

"Yes, I have full confidence in my marksmanship, and there's not much time I can think on the spot. I may only have one chance." Link showed great confidence.
