Chapter 8 Unexpected Situations

Seeing that Hong Yu was exhausted, Lin Manman felt sorry for her and took the water provided by the training center to pour a glass for Hong Yu.

"My sweetheart, you've worked so hard! Look how much better you are now than half an hour ago. In the future, Mommy will definitely take you to the competition field and make you fight your way through, striking fear into the hearts of your opponents. And when we win the prize money, I'll buy you lots of delicious food and raise you to be strong and healthy!"

Having never witnessed the wickedness of human nature since birth, Hongyu's little eyes regained their bright and lively sparkle after a series of rosy promises. Its tail flicked and then smacked against the testing equipment with a "smack."

Just as Hongyu was regrouping and continuing her training, a sudden, urgent alarm sounded, followed by a cacophony of voices and footsteps outside the door.

At that moment, there was a knock on the door of the training room.

Just as they were wondering what was going on, the door to the training room was pushed open by a tall man in black, whose earpiece was flashing red.

"Excuse me, sir, we've encountered some special circumstances at our training facility. Would you please come to the lobby?"

Lin Manman frowned slightly. Her payment period hadn't ended yet, and she wondered if the training center would accept the loss. While pondering this, she picked up Hongyu and followed the man in black out of the training room.

Upon exiting the training room, one sees burly men dressed in identical black outfits and beautiful receptionists knocking on each training room door and inviting those training inside out.

"Miss, please follow this corridor straight ahead, then turn left to enter the stadium lobby." The man in black gave Lin Manman directions, then turned and went to knock on the door of the next training room.

Lin Manman followed the equally bewildered others, following the directions given by the man in black, into a spacious hall. There were already quite a few people standing in the hall, looking at each other with some confusion.

"Dear customers, we sincerely apologize for the theft of our venue's safe. We have already reported the incident to the police. Please gather here to facilitate the police's work. We ask for your understanding. All your expenses for today will be fully refunded, and we will also compensate you with an equivalent amount of time spent in the training rooms. Thank you for your cooperation."

A balding, middle-aged man who looked like a manager was wiping the sweat from his forehead with a handkerchief, his apologetic smile looking somewhat comical.

A safe was stolen? There should be CCTV footage inside the venue. The fact that they didn't handle it discreetly suggests that something very valuable was stolen, otherwise they wouldn't have made such a big fuss.

Whispers arose from the crowd, but as the manager explained the compensation in detail, those who were initially dissatisfied calmed down.

A moment later, five men and women in uniforms entered the hall, led by a tall, thin man who looked to be in his thirties or forties.

"Hello everyone, I am Lu Jianjun, a fourth-level police officer from the Huai River area. I need your cooperation in registering me."

Officer Lu greeted the crowd with a gentle yet authoritative gesture, then nodded to the two men and two women behind him, and the four of them immediately dispersed into the crowd.

Everything was going smoothly until Hongyu suddenly nuzzled against Lin Manman's ear.

At this time, Lin Manman didn't want to stand out, so she had Hongyu activate its mimicry skill as soon as she entered the venue lobby. Others couldn't see Hongyu, but it was always hanging around Lin Manman's neck.

At that moment, Hongyu nuzzled Lin Manman's ear, clearly having discovered something. Since signing the contract with Hongyu, Lin Manman and Hongyu had been able to vaguely sense each other's thoughts. However, Hongyu, being newly born, didn't seem to be very good at expressing itself, so Lin Manman could only roughly sense that it was trying to tell her that there was another person present.

The venue is full of people now. Hongyu specifically reminded me that something seems special. Could it be someone who stole the safe?

"Sweetie, point it out to Mommy," Lin Manman said softly to Hongyu.

Hongyu nudged her cheek with her head, and Lin Manman pretended to look around, then was secretly surprised. It turned out that Hongyu was referring to someone else; there was another person in the venue, but this person could hide, so no one had noticed.

She was pretty sure this was the person who stole the safe. No wonder he wasn't in a hurry to leave after stealing the stuff, and even dared to come over for a police check. He was confident he could hide and not be discovered.

Lin Manman walked quietly toward the training hall staff.

"Excuse me, I'm really thirsty. Could you please get me a bottle of water?"

The pretty receptionist, seeing that she was still a young girl, didn't think she would be a thief and kindly said it was okay. She turned around and took a bottle of water from a cabinet next to her and handed it to Lin Manman.

After turning on the water, Lin Manman scratched Hongyu's chin. "Sweetie, show Mommy what that is?" she said, pouring the water in her hand down the tap.

Hearing Lin Manman talking to herself, the beautiful receptionist hurriedly tried to stop her, but the water disappeared into the air without spilling onto the ground. Before the receptionist could even let out a shocked gasp, a scream suddenly rang out from the venue.

Holy crap!

Everyone in the stadium was startled and turned to look at the source of the sound. A puddle of water had suddenly appeared on the otherwise empty ground, with a row of footprints running through it. Before anyone could react, Officer Lu reacted swiftly, charging forward and delivering a powerful whip kick.

"what!"

All that was heard was a scream. Something was kicked away, hit the wall, and slid down, leaving a water stain on the wall.

The thief seemed to have been knocked unconscious by the blow, and his figure was clearly revealed to everyone as he fell to the ground, causing a stir among the crowd.

"What is that? What is this thing?"

"What just happened?"

The stunned crowd was still reeling from the shock. However, several experienced officers quickly stepped forward and placed the suspect in supernatural shackles.

"Sir, we found this on the suspect." A pretty policewoman ran towards Officer Lu, holding a ring-shaped object.

The venue manager, finally regaining his composure, quickly stepped forward, and Officer Lu inspected the ring before handing it to him.

The manager hurriedly took the inspection report, then nodded happily to Officer Lu. "Yes, that's right. This is what we lost."

Officer Lu nodded seriously, then turned to look at Lin Manman, who was standing aside watching the show, and immediately burst out laughing.

"Good job, young lady. You're bold, meticulous, and clever. I'm curious how you found him? And how did you manage to splash the water on him?"

Lin Manman, who had been called out, chuckled sheepishly, "It wasn't me who discovered it, it was my summoned beast that found it."

Lin Manman raised her hand, and a pinkish-white snake slowly appeared on her previously empty hand. The snake, about two fingers thick, coiled around Lin Manman's forearm four or five times, and its raised head was covered with a pair of fan-shaped scales that looked like ears, and its small pink eyes gleamed with intelligence.

"It's actually a summonable beast that can mimic appearances. No wonder it was able to spot the suspect." Officer Lu looked at Hong Yu in surprise, unable to resist taking a few more glances. The two policewomen behind him, however, had their eyes shining with desire.

"Your ability to splash water is also a summoned beast's power?"

"Yes, my Rainbow Jade has mastered the skill of spatial teleportation, which can teleport objects no larger than itself to other places." Currently, the distance is only ten meters, but spatial teleportation is an upgradeable skill, meaning the distance can be increased later. Of course, she didn't need to go into such detail.
