Chapter 29 The Theft of Wayne's Plan

Chapter 29 The Theft of Wayne's Plan

In the bathtub of the nineteenth-floor apartment.

The water in the bathtub rippled and splashed all over the floor.

On the way back, Connors learned that Harley Quinn's body had been enhanced by "Poison Ivy" Ivy and was now almost on par with his.

According to her, the mallet was made for her by Poison Ivy herself, using plants. It was exceptionally sturdy. Connors, however, did not try to break the mallet in defiance of the legend. Instead, he hailed a taxi and went straight back to his rented place.

Incidentally, since the taxi driver was the same guy who had forced people to buy guns, Connors also casually threw him off the river and, upon returning to Gotham, parked the car in the middle of the river again.

Having not seen Harley Quinn for several days, the two were already impatient on the way, but because the little madwoman was covered in dirt from burrowing underground, Connors waited until they returned to the apartment.

It has to be said that after visiting Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn's skin became even more supple, smooth, and fair.

And because Harley herself is the same as in the comics,

If Connors hadn't already possessed physical abilities that exceeded the limits of human potential...

When the two came out of the bathroom, Connors' skin was slightly wrinkled from soaking in water for a long time, while Harley Quinn's skin was still incredibly moisturized.

But now that Connors was calm and collected, his attention had shifted, and after walking into the living room, he focused his gaze on a piece of paper.

"10 PM tonight, at yesterday's location."

Next to the beautiful handwriting was a drawing of an elegant black kitten.

This is clearly a note left by "Catwoman" after she sneaked into the room.

Connors wasn't hiding his face and wasn't surprised that Catwoman knew where he lived so quickly.

Harley Quinn curiously peeked over:

"Little Pa, do you have any plans for tonight?"

Connors casually tore the paper into pieces and threw it into the trash can.

"A female thief, I don't know what she's up to. Do you want to come with me?"

Harley Quinn shook her head:

"I'm not going. What's so fun about stealing? I'm going to make a big splash."

"What news?" Connors asked. A few days ago, Harley had been saying she was going to do something big when she left, but so far nothing had happened.

Not counting the daytime disruption of the escape plan, according to Harley Quinn, when she couldn't find the sewers of Arkham Asylum outside, she simply drove in and caused a ruckus before finally finding the sewer entrance.

Inside, she indeed encountered the killer Crocodile that Poison Ivy had mentioned, the one who helped the Joker escape from prison.

He had intended to defeat her directly, but he hadn't expected her digging skills to be so exceptional, and her wooden mallet was too narrow inside, which was why he couldn't stop her.

This actually accelerated the Joker's escape plan.

"A magic show~" Harley Quinn said earnestly.

Connors nodded, only reminding Harley once, "Don't kill anyone," and after receiving her affirmation,

I got dressed and prepared to go out.

It was getting late, and he had to go to the rooftop of "Joseph Jewelry Store" for a meeting.

Having only met her once last night, he really couldn't figure out why "Catwoman" Selena Kyle was looking for him, but since he couldn't guess, he wouldn't. Anyway, he would see her soon.

They continued to take a taxi to "Joseph Jewelry Store," and on the way, Connors glanced at the gossip system.

[Today's Gossip: The Man Who Laughs Man Incident (Ongoing) - A Crazy Plan]

[Today's gossip: Deeply rooted]

Let's not submit it yet, let's see if there's any big gossip on Catwoman's side—

Get off the bus, climb the stairs, and meet.

With a few minutes to go and "Catwoman" Selena still not arriving, Connors, having nothing better to do, continued to peer into the ventilation ducts.

"What are you doing?" Selena's voice came from behind.

"Let's see if you're in the pipes again," Connors said with a smile, having spotted "Catwoman" first using his spider-sense.

"....."

Selena was speechless for a moment, but quickly gathered her thoughts, "Why did you come here last night?"

3?

"Come and see what treasures you have. You've robbed this store five times a month. What thief wouldn't be curious?" Connors said.

That seemed to make sense. Selena didn't continue the topic and instead said:

"I noticed you're quite skilled last night. Interested in teaming up?"

Her voice was soft and sweet, yet she put on a cold and aloof demeanor in front of Connors.

If you don't look at her face, it's fine, but the key is that even with the blindfold on, you can still make out Catwoman's exquisite features, and her beautiful jawline is incredibly alluring.

This makes the cold and ruthless tone sound extremely different from the overall image.

"Tell me more." Connors was just there to watch the drama unfold, so he didn't mind hearing about the other party's cooperation plan.

"Gotham's billionaire Bruce Wayne has been ill these past few days, and I'd like to take this opportunity to get into his estate. There must be a lot of his treasured jewels there," Selena said coldly.

"Good idea," Connors gave a thumbs up. "So why do you need to collaborate with me? What are the benefits?"

He was trying to get something for nothing, but Selena still thought about it seriously for a moment, her red lips slightly moving as she uttered a soft, sweet voice:

"Whatever we get, I'll split it with you in half, okay?"

If Connors hadn't read the comics, he might have actually been fooled by Catwoman's words.

In the comics, Catwoman is indeed a thief and seems to have a collecting obsession, specializing in stealing works of art with artistic value.

How could a thief who reveres art possibly share the spoils with himself?

However, he didn't expose Catwoman's thoughts; instead, he nodded in agreement.

"No problem. How do I get there? Just so you know, I don't have a car, and Wayne Manor isn't in downtown Gotham."

"Do you need to make some preparations?" Catwoman asked. Seeing Connors shake his head, she turned and jumped off the roof. Then her whip flew up and wrapped around the metal frame on the roof. Her body swung in the air and landed safely.

Connors followed closely behind, convinced he was going to get his hands on this juicy gossip. The two quickly entered a small alley where a motorcycle was parked.

brush!

With a flick of her long legs, "Catwoman" straddled the motorcycle and then gave Connors a cool nod of her chin.

Having lost his car time and again, Connors, now without a means of transportation, didn't hesitate and plopped down on it, while naturally wrapping his arms around Selena's incredibly soft waist.

The motorcycle roared toward Wayne Manor, but the bumpy ride brought the two of them closer and closer together.

Luckily he was wearing clothes, otherwise Connors would have been in trouble. He glanced down at Catwoman's shapely buttocks.

Just then, Selena suddenly braked, and the inertia nearly sent Connors flying.
