Hogwarts: The Witch Education Handbook
Chapter 43 The Rock Cake That Was Hard to Swallow
In situations like this, Hermione's first thought is usually to seek help from Professor Sean, which is consistent with her nature.
But time waits for no one.
By the time she finds Professor Sean, Harry might already be a pie in the sky.
So she decided to take action herself.
Meanwhile, Harry found himself in an even more difficult situation.
His flying broomstick was shaking more and more violently; Harry couldn't stay suspended for much longer.
Almost all the spectators stood up, watching in horror as it all unfolded.
The Weasley twins flew up, trying to pull Harry safely onto one of their brooms, but to no avail—the broom would shoot up even higher whenever they got close to him.
So they landed a little closer and circled around him, clearly trying to catch him as he fell.
"Hurry up, Hermione," Ron whispered desperately.
Hermione struggled through the crowd to reach the stands where Snape was.
Just as she drew her wand, preparing to set Snape's robes ablaze, the seats in the faculty stands suddenly caught fire.
But... she hadn't even uttered the incantation yet.
Could it be that she has mastered the silent spellcasting technique that is said to be only available to powerful wizards?
The thought only flashed through Hermione's mind for a moment before she dismissed it.
If it were Ron, he would surely believe this reason wholeheartedly.
Reading books can often give individuals a clearer understanding of themselves.
As a knowledgeable woman, Hermione knew the gap between herself and adult wizards; such advanced magic was far beyond the capabilities of a young witch her age.
Could it be that she was so nervous that she blurted out the incantation without even realizing it?
For some reason, she felt a burning gaze fixed on her. She turned around abruptly and saw Professor Sean winking at her playfully not far away.
She naturally understood everything.
At this moment, a huge cheer erupted from the students.
It turns out that Harry, who had gotten back on his broomstick, caught the Golden Snitch!
Gryffindor won the Quidditch match against Slytherin by 170 to 60.
However, having experienced this dangerous incident, the three had no desire to stay at the Quidditch pitch to celebrate.
......
In the afternoon, the weather in Britain once again demonstrated its unpredictable nature.
The once clear and bright sky was suddenly covered with haze, and the warm sunshine was blocked by thick clouds, making the sky gloomy. Snowflakes even began to fall from the sky.
Hagrid's cabin.
A hazy layer of frost flowers clung to the windows of the cabin, while outside, the wind and snow howled past, yet inside, warmth and tranquility prevailed.
The three people sat around the fire, the firelight dancing on their faces and casting warm shadows.
The wood in the stove crackled and popped as it burned, sparks flying everywhere, and the occasional crisp sound of wood breaking added a touch of liveliness to the tranquil afternoon.
They held steaming afternoon tea in their hands, the aroma of tea mingling with the smoke from burning firewood, and the white porcelain of the teacups contrasting beautifully with the red of the flames. Undoubtedly, it was a beautiful scene.
only...
The topic the three of them were discussing was completely out of place with the atmosphere; in fact, it could be described as jarring.
"We saw it, it was Snape," Ron said firmly. "He was chanting a spell on your flying broom, muttering to himself, and his eyes were glued to you."
"And Professor Sean found out about it too," Hermione added. "I mean, just as I was about to cast a spell to stop Snape, Professor Sean beat me to it."
After saying that, Hermione took a small sip of tea.
It doesn't taste as good as the honey lemon black tea in Professor Sean's office.
She went to Professor Sean's place every day, and her tastes became more and more in line with his. She always felt that tea tasted bland without adding lemon or honey.
"Nonsense," Hagrid said, completely unaware of what was happening around him in the stands. "You mean Snape used a curse to control Harry's flying broomstick, trying to make him fall?"
"That's right," Ron replied matter-of-factly.
"If Professor Sean discovered that Professor Snape had done such a thing, why didn't he say anything?" Hagrid slammed his teacup down, the glass making a dull thud as it hit the table.
The large teacup, from a distance, looked bigger than the heads of the three little wizards.
"Maybe... Professor Sean and Snape are in cahoots?" Ron wondered, grabbing a rock cake from the table.
But no sooner had he finished speaking than Hermione retorted, she would not allow anyone to slander her beloved professor like that.
"Impossible. If Professor Sean and Snape were in cahoots, why would he deliberately sabotage Snape's plans?"
"Perhaps... Professor Sean's conscience finally kicked in..." Ron's mouth was stuffed with rock cakes, and it had taken him a lot of effort to soften them before putting them in his mouth, which made his words a little unclear.
However, he still persists in his speculation.
Hermione stood up, staring at Ron like an angry little lion. "Ron Weasley, I won't allow you to make such baseless speculations anymore!" Her voice was full of determination and anger.
Ron was startled by Hermione's sudden outburst of anger, and nearly choked on the rock cake in his mouth.
He quickly swallowed a mouthful of tea, tried to swallow the biscuit, and then looked at Hermione somewhat awkwardly, trying to explain, "Hermione, I was just suggesting a possibility, not saying that Professor Sean is definitely in cahoots with Professor Snape."
But Hermione clearly didn't accept this explanation. She frowned, and just as she was about to say something, Hagrid's words successfully drew the attention of all three of them.
Why did Snape do that?
Harry, Ron, and Hermione exchanged glances, unsure how to tell him.
Harry hesitated for a moment, then decided to tell the truth.
“I found out something about him,” he told Hagrid. “On Halloween Eve, he tried to get past that big three-headed dog. It bit him. We think he was trying to steal what the dog was guarding.”
Hagrid suddenly slammed his hand on the table, staring intently at Harry with eyes as big as lanterns.
"Wait, how do you know about Lu Wei?"
"Lu Wei?"
"Yes—it's mine—I bought it from a Greek guy I met at the hotel last year—I lent it to Dumbledore to keep watch—"
"What?" Harry asked eagerly.
"Alright, stop asking," Hagrid said gruffly. "That's classified, understand?"
"But Snape wanted to steal it."
"Nonsense," Hagrid said again. "Snape is a teacher at Hogwarts; he would never do such a thing."
"Then why would he want to kill Harry?" Hermione asked loudly.
"I'm telling you, you're completely wrong!" Hagrid snapped. "While I don't know why Harry's broomstick is behaving so strangely, I'm certain Snape and Sean would never try to harm a student!"
"Now, all three of you listen up. Forget about this; it's a matter between Professor Dumbledore and Nicolas Flamel—"
"Aha!" said Harry. "So this involves a man named Nicolas Flamel, doesn't it?"
Hagrid, realizing he had said the wrong thing again, flew into a rage. He kicked the three little ones out of the hut and then decided to lock himself in the hut for a day as punishment.
