Hogwarts: The Witch Education Handbook
Chapter 25 The Brilliant Miss Granger
After Snape left, Sean breathed a sigh of relief.
He hadn't expected to fool Snape so easily.
I thought I would have to spend a lot of time explaining.
He packed his things and headed straight for the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom.
This lesson is for first-year Gryffindor students.
When Sean stepped into the classroom, he was surprised to find that the lively and adorable little lions were already sitting in their seats in an orderly manner, behaving very well.
No one was late or absent.
This is undoubtedly a great start.
"Since everyone already knows me, I don't need to introduce myself anymore..."
The little lion below was already eagerly waiting for the professor to pull the wizard out of his suitcase and kill him.
They had already heard that at the beginning of each class, the professor would choose a lucky student to demonstrate Wizard Kill with him.
"Which of you...?"
Before Sean could finish his sentence, hands were already raised.
"I!"
"Professor, choose me!"
"I know how to play, Professor! I've been watching others play all afternoon!"
"Does anyone know the incantation for the Snot Curse?" Amidst the commotion, Sean finished his question.
In just a moment, all the tiny hands went down... as if they had never raised their hands before, except for Hermione's little hand, which was still raised high.
"It seems only Miss Granger knows the answer." Sean scanned the entire classroom before slowly saying, "Miss Granger, you will answer this question."
"It's 'Unstoppable Slippery Mucus,' Professor. It's from page 23 of Quentin Trimble's *Black Magic: A Guide to Self-Defense*. This spell causes people to produce excessive amounts of slime, making them feel physically uncomfortable..."
Although Harry and Ron had already witnessed Hermione's "special" abilities in Potions and Transfiguration this morning, they were still surprised by her familiarity with the textbook.
You know, it was such a thick book that even reading it once would be difficult for them, yet Hermione was able to memorize the contents of it verbatim.
For the first time, they both realized how vast the differences between people could be.
Sean patted his palms and nodded in satisfaction.
"Excellent answer, Gryffindor +2 points."
"Miss Granger, please have a seat."
"Next question, who..." Sean deliberately dragged out the word.
This time, the lion cubs were much more cautious; they prepared to listen to the professor's question before raising their hands.
"Does anyone know the spell for the Wand Illumination Charm?"
As soon as she finished speaking, Hermione raised her little hand again.
Of course, Sean, who asked the question, didn't expect anyone else to be able to answer it—because this curse was far beyond the curriculum, and it was usually only encountered in the second semester of second grade or in third grade.
"Miss Granger," Sean called Hermione's name again.
Hermione jumped to her feet: "The spell for the Wand Illumination Charm is Flurry."
"It's a spell that can light up the wand tip for illumination in the dark. The counter-spell is the Wand Extinguishing Charm, and its incantation is..."
Hearing Hermione's long-winded explanation, Harry lowered his head, lowered his voice, and asked Ron beside him, "What is a breaking spell?"
"It should be the spell to break this curse..." Ron answered softly, though he wasn't really sure.
"very good."
This time, Sean's applause was louder than the last.
He only wanted to test Hermione's elasticity, but he didn't expect her to actually give him a surprise.
"Gryffindor gets another 2 points."
When Hermione heard that she had once again earned points for her house, she was overjoyed.
Indeed, in every respect, Professor Sean was far superior to Professor Snape.
You see, during Potions class that morning, she kept raising her hand to answer questions, and she even almost stood on the chair to get Professor Snape's attention.
Now, not only Harry and Ron are feeling the presence of a "gap," but the other young wizards are also vaguely feeling uncomfortable—they feel that they have wasted this summer vacation.
"Next question, does anyone know what a class representative is?"
Sean's question was like a lit match thrown into a powder keg, reigniting the atmosphere in the room.
Even the somewhat reserved Harry raised his hand, eager to answer the question and prove himself.
"Mr. Weasley, you answer this question."
"I can add thirty points to my academy!" Ron replied confidently.
He had just heard this from his two older brothers at noon today.
"Anything else?"
Ron thought for a moment, then quickly said, "Helping the professor keep the Wizard Killer... I can also be alone with the professor, and even have myself imprinted on the Wizard Card!"
By the end, his eyes were shining, and his answer was unanimously agreed upon by the surrounding lion cubs.
"That's a good answer, but you missed the most important part." Sean shook his head. "It's a pity, Mr. Weasley, I can't give you extra points."
Sean then repeated the responsibilities of the class representative.
"The first responsibility of the Defense Against the Dark Arts class representative is to assist the teacher in preparing for class. This includes collecting and distributing papers and exams, as well as organizing pre-class preparations..."
"..."
After finishing his statement in one breath, Sean took a sip of his water glass and continued, "I think Miss Granger will be the class representative. I don't think anyone has any objections, right?"
The audience was silent.
Having just witnessed Hermione's abilities, the group had nothing to say.
Hermione blushed crimson at the sudden appointment, looking exceptionally adorable. (Although she had long believed in her heart that this position was rightfully hers.)
"First, let's turn to the first page of the textbook. The purpose of Defense Against the Dark Arts is..."
Sean began to recite the contents of the book verbatim.
For these first-year wizards who had never taken this course before, they couldn't even conjure a needle, so the practical operation was quite difficult for them. Therefore, Sean decided to first provide them with supplementary theoretical guidance.
The lion cubs in the audience, not hearing what they wanted to hear, immediately began to howl in despair.
One is a cool wizard killing game, the other is a dry and boring textbook.
Even a fool knows which one is more interesting.
"Ron, do you think Professor Sean will still let us wizards kill each other?" Seamus Finigan asked Ron, who was standing in the aisle, with concern. "Is it because the professor thinks we're too young that he hasn't..."
Ron was about to answer.
Then they heard Sean's cold voice.
"Whispering in my class is not a good choice."
"Mr. Weasley, you can answer what I just said: what is the purpose of Defense Against the Dark Arts?"
Ron's expression froze instantly. He pointed to his nose, looked up at Sean dumbfounded, and asked, "Me?"
"Yes, if there isn't another Mr. Weasley in this class."
Ron felt utterly wronged by Merlin's socks.
He hadn't even opened his mouth when Professor Sean caught him red-handed. If anyone's going to arrest someone, they should arrest Seamus first.
Ron trembled as he tried to recall what Professor Sean had just said, but he couldn't remember it at all. He could only stammer and whisper, "Professor, I...forgot..."
Soon, Ron's good friend stood up with him.
"Mr. Finigan, you answer this question."
Seamus's behavior mirrored Ron's. At that moment, Sean turned his gaze to the famous savior, Harry Potter, who was sitting to Ron's left.
"Mr. Potter, you answer this question."
"The purpose of Defense Against the Dark Arts is to learn how to...resist...all...types...of...dark magic, including dark magic creatures, dark spells, and duels..."
Although Harry spoke haltingly, he still managed to express the general meaning quite clearly.
This is related to the fact that he was listening attentively in class just now.
"Very well, Mr. Potter, please have a seat."
"Mr. Weasley and Mr. Finnigan, please have a seat. Please listen carefully and learn from Mr. Potter."
Having learned from Ron and Seamus's mistakes, the little lions dared not say anything more and focused all their attention on the lesson.
As get out of class was about to end, Sean paused his lecture and took out five sets of Wizard Killer alchemy tools from his large suitcase.
"I will entrust these five sets of wizarding weapons to Miss Granger for safekeeping, but you must meet certain requirements when you apply to Miss Granger for registration to use them."
"What are your requirements?"
The little lions in the audience regained their energy from when they first started class.
"Go and have Miss Granger recite all the points I covered in this lesson, and submit a paper about your experience of your first 'Defense Against the Dark Arts' class, which must be at least 500 words long."
"The Wizard Killer can only be used after Miss Granger has confirmed that everything is correct."
"Of course, you can choose not to memorize the knowledge points and just play Wizard Kill with other people, but if I find out... not only will I be deprived of the right to play Wizard Kill, but your deeds and image will also be made into corresponding 'Disobedient Little Wizard Cards' and put in your deck..."
These two punishments are a bit too harsh for the lion cubs.
It's such a cruel torment to only watch others play The Witcher Killer while you can't play it yourself.
As for the latter type of punishment, it is even more painful for the little lions who are particularly concerned about their image.
They simply couldn't imagine how the Slytherins would torment them on the board if their image were made into "Disobedient Little Wizard Cards" and placed in the deck...
So after thinking it through, they shook their heads frantically in their hearts, determined not to be punished like that.
In the next few minutes, Sean began to highlight the key points in the book that they needed to memorize.
He is very happy now.
His main and side quests have progressed significantly.
After announcing the end of get out of class, Sean added, "Miss Granger, please come to my office after dinner tonight."
