Chapter 30 This is outrageous!
This is a scene from hell.
Palace staff were making their way to the basement in an orderly fashion when suddenly a car plummeted from a great height, causing immense damage to the palace. Those taking refuge lost their lives in an instant, followed by countless cars and stones falling from nearly a thousand meters, completely destroying the solemn and majestic palace…
The video ended there, and the viewers watching via projection all breathed a sigh of relief.
But the second film that followed made them tense again.
Three of the U.S. military's most advanced fighter jets were rapidly diving toward a dark figure, but suddenly lost control the instant the figure lightly swung its arm. The missiles the pilots desperately fired before crashing missed their target; instead, the dark figure used them to change course and shoot down a swarm of drones.
Before anyone could react, the third act of the film began. A mysterious figure floating in the air, wearing a pure white mask and a black suit, snapped his fingers, and the mecha soldiers in the arena began to riot.
United States, State Department, an underground meeting room.
"Everyone, what are your thoughts after watching these three videos?" the meeting organizer asked the seven projectors in front of him.
"What if a natural disaster strikes?" a middle-aged man behind the projected screen remarked.
The other participants did not offer any comments.
The meeting organizer looked around to make sure no one else wanted to speak, and then introduced: "The Secret Agent, whose name and gender are unknown, first appeared in public at 8:20 pm at the Stark Industries Expo Center the day before today. After causing a lot of damage by controlling mech soldiers, he disappeared into thin air. He reappeared 30 minutes ago, completely destroyed the White Palace, and casually took care of the flight squad that came to support him."
The known abilities include telekinesis, flight, and invisibility.
However, his motive for causing the destruction is unclear.
I would like to ask everyone here: do you have any ideas on how to deal with such a "supervillain"?
After all, no one can guarantee that the next place destroyed by the Mystics, who possess the abilities of flight and invisibility, won't be in your country.
"He can run and fight, and he's even going to the trouble of hiding his identity. I guess he's afraid you'll threaten his family. These clothes don't look cheap either. He should at least be from a middle-class family. American, male, middle-class family, happy family, highly educated, and around 175-185 cm tall. There probably aren't many people in your country who meet these criteria. Why not just gather people like this together and keep them under control?" An elderly man wearing a monocle suggested.
Faced with the old man's suggestion, the meeting moderator slammed his hand on the table, clearly disagreeing with his idea. After all, these people were essentially the backbone of the United States; treating them like prisoners would be tantamount to suicide.
The old man smiled noncommittally. He left with the words, "Then I can only pray that after he's done messing with your America, he won't come after us. After all, any fighter jet we're not confident we can destroy won't last a second in this spy's hands." Then he logged off and left.
After logging off, the old man remained silent for a moment before calling his assistant: "Have Headmistress Hermione come here."
The meeting continued after the elderly man left.
But clearly, other countries are more inclined to watch the spectacle unfold in the face of America's current predicament. After all, judging from the locations this "secret agent" has been operating—either the most bustling streets of New York or the palace in Washington—it's obvious he has a deep-seated grudge against the United States. Unfortunately for them, they also have a significant grudge against the US. Since someone is causing trouble for the US, they're probably more than happy to help.
So, after the meeting, the organizers didn't actually gain anything, but they did get the most important piece of information: confirming that the "secret agent" was not sent by any of the other countries.
After calming himself down, the meeting organizers moved to another meeting room.
"Outrageous! When did the United States allow a cowardly scoundrel to bully us like this? The presidential residence, the symbol of American national identity, has been destroyed by such a bastard! We must send someone to deal with him!" A white old man in military uniform was roaring madly in the conference room.
But when he saw the meeting organizer enter the meeting room, the white old man suppressed his anger, shut his mouth, and greeted the person in the meeting room along with the others, "Mr. Secretary of State."
The Secretary of State is the chief executive officer of the U.S. State Department, appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate, and ranks first in the cabinet. Their responsibilities extend beyond foreign affairs to include symbolic duties such as the management of the Great Seal and the signing of international treaties. Essentially, they hold the third highest position in the United States.
"The President has already sacrificed his life in the terrorist attack by the Secret Agents, and the Vice President is preparing for his inauguration. So now, on behalf of the United States, I ask you all a question: Can we defeat the Secret Agents and bring them to justice?" The Secretary of State said sincerely, standing in front of everyone in the conference room. "You are all the bravest and most outstanding warriors of the United States. If even you cannot defeat the Secret Agents, we will not rule out any means to eliminate them."
Now I am sending all the information I have gathered about the Mystic to you all, hoping that we can work together to find the Mystic's possible weaknesses and next target.
Then his assistant, who had been following behind him, handed out tablet-like objects to everyone present.
Miller tried it out and felt that its functions were the same as a tablet. Then again, if something looks like a tablet and has the same functions, then isn't it a tablet?
That's right, Miller, the newly minted "superhero," was also invited to this conference room.
Miller quickly skimmed through the information on the tablet, finding it consisted mainly of complete combat data and various analyses from so-called experts. He glanced at Tony Stark beside him, then at these elderly men whose average age was at least sixty, and sensed they weren't discussing how to deal with "The Secret Agent," but rather how to divide the two of them.
Tony Stark noticed Miller's gaze and, recalling Jarvis's assessment of the Mysterious One's identity, suspected that Miller might know the Mysterious One's identity, because he was acting far too relaxed at the moment, making him seem out of place compared to the others present.
"Mr. Stark, don't you think the Secret Agent's strength has increased a lot?" Miller was completely unaware that Tony Stark had already suspected him, and when he noticed Tony Stark looking at him, he seriously offered his opinion.
