HP: I beat the otome game at Hogwarts

Chapter 68 The Encounter at the Leaky Cauldron Bar

Lyra was dragged along by the wrist of the young master Draco Malfoy, her slender wrist firmly held in his palm like a merciless jailer chaining an escaped prisoner.

“I can walk by myself—” Lyra, wearing high heels, couldn’t keep up with his long strides and tried to shake him off instead of being pulled along.

Draco Malfoy ignored him, his grip tightening in the slightest. He had no intention of giving her a chance to escape; he wanted to get her away safely first.

Otherwise, given her looks, she could very well have caught the eye of some powerful figure and become their private possession.

After that... he will find a way to improve her life. A few more years, until he comes of age, no, or perhaps he can complete the trials of becoming the family heir ahead of time, until he truly completes the assessment and is fully capable, then he can bring her under his wing and protect her.

It's not possible right now.

Lyra White is a Muggle, and her parents would never approve of her having any involvement with a girl like that, not even as ordinary friends.

The Malfoy family heirs will not have such friends, nor will they be allowed to.

If her parents found out about her existence, Draco couldn't even imagine what they would do to her and what would happen to her.

For now, we can only keep it a secret and be patient.

It will be fine in a few years.

Draco Malfoy strode ahead, gritting his teeth inwardly. He had made a decision and was filled with fighting spirit for the future. The more he thought about it, the more his feet seemed to fly.

It was tough on Lyra, who was being dragged along by the iron grip while wearing high heels. Not only was she completely unaware of the young master's future plans, but her wrists were also being squeezed so hard they were aching, and her ankles were almost broken.

"Gently! Slowly!" Lyra couldn't help but complain, "Are you a troll? How can you be so strong!"

Having figured things out, the young master of the platinum family felt much better. Hearing Lyra's complaints, he slowed his pace and loosened his grip a little.

“Alright, you should go home now,” Draco Malfoy said kindly. “I can’t be away for too long; Father might be looking for me. I’ll have Toto take you—”

"Toto!"

With a snap, a house-elf appeared before the two of them. It was clearly very young and was wearing a snow-white pillowcase with the Malfoy surname embroidered in gold thread.

"Take this young lady back to her lodgings," Draco Malfoy said sternly. "Protect her carefully! If I find out anything happens to her, not even a single hair on her head, you won't be spared!"

"Toto will definitely complete the mission! Toto will protect Miss with his life!" the young house-elf vowed desperately, tears welling in his eyes.

“Toto is still a new house-elf, and he's not mature enough yet,” Draco Malfoy explained, noticing Lyra's pained expression. “He needs a stern warning. We used to have another house-elf, but…”

As if recalling something unpleasant, the young master's face darkened again.

Lyra knew perfectly well that she had already heard the whole story of how Dobby the Malfoy house-elf was freed from Harry.

"Have Toto take you back. You can also tell him if you need anything." Draco Malfoy gave these instructions before hurrying into the party, worried that his father would look for him.

Lyra was Apparated to the Leaky Cauldron by Toto, the Malfoy family's newborn elf, and had been living there since moving out of the Muggle Hotel.

It's convenient whether you're going to Diagon Alley to buy things or meeting up with the Weasley twins before school starts.

But Leila really didn't expect that staying at the Leaky Cauldron would lead to meeting acquaintances so quickly.

I ran into way too many acquaintances tonight!

"Lyra?" Harry never expected his luck to improve tonight, but—

"Is this house-elf next to you from the Malfoy family?"

"Ah, this was an accident. I'm so grateful to Toto for bringing me back. Thank you, Toto—" Layla saw that Toto was moved to tears by her words and was about to burst into tears, so she quickly tried to salvage the situation. "Alright, I've arrived. Toto, you can go now."

“Toto can do so much more! Toto can make the bed for Miss, run the bath, and even make her a midnight snack—” The excited house-elf wished he could serve Layla all night.

“No need, Toto, you should go back.” Leila refused decisively, afraid that she wouldn’t be able to refuse when Toto announced the menu for late-night snacks.

She ate too many desserts today and exceeded her sugar intake limit. She doesn't want the first thing she has to do after school starts to go to the school hospital to ask Mrs. Pomfrey for a weight loss potion and a teeth-strengthening potion.

After seeing Toto off, she saw Harry silently watching her with his emerald eyes, as if he wanted to hear her explain what kind of accident had gotten him involved with the Malfoys' little elf.

Lyra: "..."

The situation is too complicated, involving the author's pseudonym identity, so let's not explain it further.

"Harry, what are you doing at the Leaky Cauldron?" Lyra asked first.

"Uh, I'm living here now, it was an accident..." Harry was a little embarrassed, but he was ready to explain the whole story to Lyra.

"Oh, what a coincidence, I live here too. How lucky to run into you." Lyra quickly covered Harry's mouth as she stepped into the Leaky Cauldron. "I'm so tired, I'm going upstairs to sleep now. Goodnight, Harry."

"Goodnight, Lyra." Harry blushed when he heard "How lucky I am to have met you," and timidly replied to Lyra's goodnight.

By the time he remembered to press for more information about the Malfoys' elves, Lyra had already slipped into her room.

For the first time in his life, Harry tasted freedom.

He used to never be able to sleep whenever he wanted, eat whenever he wanted, or do whatever he wanted.

Before enrolling at Hogwarts, he had no friends and lived like a house-elf. He was very happy at Hogwarts, but when he went home for holidays, he still lived like a house-elf at the Dursleys' house and couldn't see his friends during the summer vacation.

Now he lives in the Leaky Cauldron and can go anywhere he wants, as long as it's in Diagon Alley, because he promised Minister Fudge he wouldn't leave Diagon Alley before school starts.

But Diagon Alley, this long, cobblestone street, is home to some of the world's most fascinating magical shops. You can eat in the café, admire the latest flying broomsticks in the Quidditch boutique, and buy fun trinkets at the joke shop...

The best part is that he doesn't do these activities alone!

Leila also lived in the Leaky Cauldron, in the room next to his. Every day, the two of them would do their homework together, eat together, and go shopping together.

Harry was so happy he almost forgot there were other people in the world until he saw that pesky Ravenclaw in the ice cream shop.
