Chapter 44 The Perfect Boy of Hufflepuff
"Hey, I only have two Transfiguration classes this morning. Professor McGonagall doesn't allow dwarfs in the classroom," Lyra whispered to her new deskmate.
“We had Potions class with Slytherins this morning, and nobody dared to cause trouble in Professor Snape’s class. The dwarf couldn’t possibly barge into the classroom,” Cedric Diggory added. “I never expected it to cause a commotion in a History of Magic class.”
Compared to the composed Lyra, Cedric Diggory looked embarrassed and apologetic. He wasn't a boy who liked to show off, and he felt very sorry for disrupting the class and disturbing others.
He was also a good student who followed the rules and respected his teachers. Apart from feeling embarrassed, he never thought of stopping her in such a simple and crude way as Lyra did—the professor did not allow the use of wands in the history of magic class.
But Cedric Diggory was by no means a bookish nerd like Percy.
Soon, he witnessed how simple and effective Lyra's method of dealing with dwarves was, and he joined the team that used spells to banish them.
"Wow, that was really impressive—" Leila murmured in admiration at the swift and decisive collapse.
“Thank you, it’s nothing,” Cedric Diggory said very modestly. “Your disarming spell was also perfectly executed.”
"How did you know...?" Leila asked, puzzled.
“I saw you cast the Disarming Charm that night,” Cedric Diggory said with a smile. “I happened to be near you at the Duel Club that night.”
“Oh—” Laila gathered her hair. She hadn’t combed her long hair up today, letting it cascade down her back like a waterfall.
Cedric Diggory sat next to the dark-haired girl, and could see her small, white ears revealed when she lifted her hair, adorned with ruby earrings that made her earlobes appear even whiter and more lustrous.
Because the two were sitting at the same long desk, Cedric Diggory could even smell the faint fragrance emanating from the dark-haired girl.
It smells like roses.
His heart beat a little faster, and he unconsciously sat up even straighter.
“What if we prevent Fred and his group from making their bet?” Lyra whispered to Cedric Diggory as she overheard the twins behind her enthusiastically encouraging more people to place bets.
"W-how do I do it?" Cedric Diggory was a little embarrassed by the hot breath suddenly pressed against his ear.
"After class, we'll..." Leila pulled the handsome and perfect boy aside and carefully made the plan.
Leila saw the handsome boy's fair skin slowly flush red as she approached, the blush spreading from his neck to his ears and then to his cheeks. But he remained seated very politely, not taking the opportunity to get closer to her and take advantage of her.
The Hufflepuff boy truly lives up to his reputation, but unfortunately, she's not interested in that type of guy for the time being, Lyra thought regretfully.

"Fred, my heart is shattered into countless pieces."
“George, I’m completely overwhelmed by grief.”
"We are so unfortunate!" The two hugged each other and burst into tears.
From the moment Lyra and Cedric Diggory teamed up to sabotage their bet, the twins seemed utterly devastated, their faces screaming that they were beyond saving.
Lyra sat calmly in the Gryffindor common room doing her homework; the two men's empty, dramatic sadness did nothing to move her cold heart.
"Tell me, what do you two need to do to quiet down?" Leila crossed out a typo, feeling that a quiet environment was necessary for doing homework.
But she couldn't go to the library either—Mrs. Pince, the librarian, coldly closed the library doors as soon as she saw several short men following her, not giving her a chance to enter at all.
She had no choice but to sit reluctantly in the corner of the lounge, completing her numerous homework assignments amidst the deafening noise—today's workload was double the usual amount, and Lyra reasonably suspected that the professors were annoyed by the disruptive dwarf.
"Our wounded hearts need mending—" George sang, clutching his chest.
“Only compensation can stop the tears of sorrow—” Fred said, clutching his heart.
"Speak like a human!" Lyra slammed her quill on the table.
“We saw you making handmade chocolates,” George hinted furiously.
"But I didn't give any to your two best friends." Fred pouted, feeling wronged.
"Alright, since you put it that way." Lyra remembered that night she went to the kitchen and made a lot of handmade chocolates with the Hufflepuff girls.
It was my first time making this thing, and it was not only oddly shaped but also tasted cloyingly sweet, so I didn't give it away and secretly took it back to my dorm.
Unexpectedly, the two of them saw it.
She didn't intend to harm anyone, but Fred and George were eager to suffer, so she couldn't be blamed.
Leila gave a sweet smile, put down her homework, and ran back to the girls' dormitory to get the chocolate.
Lyra found the box of handmade chocolates she had made on the snack shelf in her dorm room, and seeing a box of Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans underneath, an idea suddenly came to her—
She stuffed a multi-flavor bean into each truffle chocolate, then reshaped it by hand to remove any traces, and finally carefully put the chocolate back into the box.
After checking it from left to right and finding no flaws, I closed the box.
While kneading the chocolate, Lyra smelled its aroma and suddenly felt a bit hungry. So she grabbed a box of strawberry-filled chocolates that looked delicious from the snack shelf—probably a new product that Angelina or Aria bought at Honey Duke. She'd buy them other new products later to make it up to them.
Leila carried two boxes of chocolates downstairs and found the common room lively. The lower grades without boyfriends or girlfriends had all returned and were chatting with their friends in the common room.
Leila handed her box of handmade chocolates with added toppings to the twins.
"I made this myself, and I didn't want to give it to anyone else," Leila said, feigning reluctance, "but since you two are my best friends—"
Hearing Lyra's emotional words, George and Fred instinctively paused as they took the chocolates.
Oh no, it seems like we've overdone it.
"Once you're done eating, you're not allowed to bother me while I'm doing my homework!" Leila quickly added.
Sure enough, upon hearing Lyra's words, their expressions returned to normal, and they happily opened the chocolate box.
"Neville, don't be afraid next time. Remember, you're stronger than a hundred Malfoys." Ron and Harry patted a chubby boy on the shoulder as they walked in from the common room door.
Seeing the boy's red eyes, Leila grabbed a handful of strawberry-filled chocolates and placed them in his hand: "Here, have some."
The boy immediately became happy, stammered his thanks, and then unwrapped a chocolate and put it in his mouth.
