HP: I beat the otome game at Hogwarts

Chapter 41 An Unexpected Lover Chapter

It's Roger Davis.

Leila really hadn't expected this.

Ever since that night at the dueling club when she knocked Roger Davis unconscious, he had been avoiding her, and Lyra thought he had finally learned to give up.

Roger Davis was displeased to see the Weasley twins stand up and block Lyra's way, but then he thought that Lyra's expression would be quite interesting when she agreed to be his girlfriend in front of them.

He was initially furious and embarrassed after Lyra knocked him unconscious. He'd been so good at Defense Against the Dark Arts, and had even considered letting her win, but she'd attacked him mercilessly while he was distracted. Why was a girl so competitive?

After that, Roger Davis avoided Lyra a bit at school. But before, he thought that Lyra White was good-looking, academically excellent, and enthusiastic, and that she would be his girlfriend sooner or later, so he spoke very confidently when chatting in the boys' dormitory.

Fortunately, the duel was so chaotic that not many people saw him being knocked unconscious by Lyra. When his friends asked him why he hadn't been as enthusiastic towards Lyra White lately, he made up an excuse to cover it up.

A few days ago, a rumor circulated that Lyra White likes guys who can openly express their feelings in public, and that the first person to confess to her on Valentine's Day has the highest success rate.

Therefore, many boys were eager to confess their love to Gryffindor, the fiery rose, on Valentine's Day. Roger also heard this rumor, and after weighing the pros and cons, he decided to be the first to do so.

After all, there was no prettier girl than Lyra White at Hogwarts, and once she became his girlfriend, the embarrassment of being knocked unconscious before would naturally not matter.

Roger Davis, brimming with confidence, eagerly approached Lyra after she entered the hall.

"Lyra White, I like you, would you like to do—"

"No, I'm sorry." Leila refused before the boy, who looked so determined, could finish speaking.

"...My girlfriend?" Roger Davis said the last part of his sentence almost simultaneously with Lyra's rejection.

"What did you say?" Roger Davis seemed not to believe his ears. Had he heard a rejection?

“You heard me right, she’s rejecting you—” George kindly answered the other person’s question.

"Let's get going, don't disturb our breakfast." Fred wasn't as friendly as his brother.

Roger Davis finally realized that he had been publicly rejected.

Not only were there mocking faces on the Weasley brothers' faces, but the murmurs coming from all directions in the Great Hall were also stimulating his fragile nerves. His face immediately turned purplish-red, then quickly turned pale, and he turned and left the Great Hall in a flash.

The first public confession of the day ended so quickly that those around Leila finally came to their senses.

Hermione greeted Lyra, Ron looked at Lyra with some awe at her for her ruthless rejection of the confession, while Harry seemed to be in a good mood as he began to eat his salted bacon with toast.

"Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!" Lockhart, dressed in a striking pink robe, stood up and announced loudly, "It seems some people have already started confessing their love today, and I'm sure everyone is eager to spend a wonderful Valentine's Day!"

"So far, forty-six people have given me greeting cards, and I would like to express my gratitude to them!" Lockhart glanced quickly at the Gryffindor table and said with a smug look on his face, "I took the liberty of arranging this little surprise in the Great Hall for everyone—and that's not all!"

Lockhart clapped his hands, and twelve dwarfs with gloomy faces strode in through the side door of the auditorium.

Lyra noticed that the other professors on the faculty table looked even more gloomy than the short ones. Only Headmaster Dumbledore was still smiling as he cut the syrup pie on his plate—truly worthy of being recognized as the greatest white wizard of our time.

"My friendly little Cupids with greeting cards!" Lockhart introduced the twelve dwarves with golden wings and harps on their backs with great enthusiasm. "They will help everyone deliver Valentine's Day cards today!"

“Hermione, please tell me, you’re not one of those forty-six blind people, are you?” Lyra heard Ron ask Hermione. But Hermione suddenly became very interested, rummaging through her bag as if she were looking for some important treasure.

All morning, the short kids kept barging into the classroom, handing out Valentine's Day cards, which not only annoyed the teachers, but also annoyed some students who didn't want to be confessed to in public.

But Roger Davis's experience in the auditorium that morning seemed to make all the guys in the school who were planning to confess their love change their minds on the spot—it was much better to have a short guy deliver their Valentine's Day cards than to be rejected in public.

Some shy and insecure people even send their Valentine's Day cards anonymously—after all, even a short person would read the message aloud.

"Hey, Harry Potter!" shouted a short man who looked remarkably like Snape, pushing through the crowd in the corridor toward Harry.

Just then, a group of first-years passed by, including the Weasley sisters. Lyra waved to Ginny, but the little girl was staring intently at Harry.

This is not surprising, since everyone in the corridor was looking at Harry.

Harry looked particularly annoyed and seemed ready to run away—unfortunately, he wasn't as fast as the dwarf.

"Stop right there!" The dwarf grabbed Harry's backpack and pulled him back.

“Let me go!” Harry yelled, pulling his backpack back forcefully.

With a tearing sound, the schoolbag was ripped in two. The books and stationery inside spilled out onto the floor with a clatter, and the ink bottle shattered on top.

Oh, poor Harry!

Lyra walked toward Harry, intending to help him pick it up.

"What's going on here?" came a deliberately drawn-out voice, and a platinum-haired boy stepped out from the crowd.

The moment Harry saw Draco Malfoy, he frantically stuffed his things into his tattered backpack, desperate to escape. He didn't want to hear about his Valentine's Day card in front of Lyra and Malfoy!

But a panicked Harry was no match for the dwarf. Taking advantage of Harry's momentary lapse in attention, the dwarf grabbed his knee, causing him to fall to the ground, then plopped down on Harry's lap and began to chant loudly:

His eyes were as green as freshly pickled toads...

At that moment, Harry would give all the gold in Gringotts to make himself disappear on the spot.

"Hahahaha!" The platinum-rich young master in the crowd laughed so hard he slapped his thigh.

As Leila was desperately trying to suppress the smile from her lips, she suddenly noticed another short man approaching, his eyes fixed on her as he walked towards her.
