HP: I beat the otome game at Hogwarts
Chapter 37 Familiar Signature
What's going on with you two?
Harry noticed that Malfoy was staring at him and Ron with displeasure, so they quickly chimed in with a few compliments, which softened Malfoy's expression.
"Hmph, whatever, you two really don't have that kind of taste." Malfoy arrogantly raised his wrist again, admiring the luster of the obsidian in the firelight of the fireplace. The little obsidian snake had a pair of emerald eyes, and Harry always felt that those emerald eyes were reflecting a mocking light at him.
“Yes, yes, only noble purebloods have taste, Muggle ones don’t…” Harry racked his brains trying to steer the conversation toward the Slytherin heir, while trying not to make Malfoy feel that the topic change was too abrupt.
But Malfoy, who was sitting opposite him, suddenly darkened his previously cheerful expression, as if one of the words he had just said had offended him.
Purebreds are noble and tasteful, while those of mixed breeds are not.
Shouldn't this content elicit Malfoy's strong approval? Why is he acting like someone owes him eight million Galleons? Is there something wrong with Malfoy?!
Harry scrutinized his words and realized he made no mistake. The problem was Malfoy; he was just that kind of capricious, unpredictable, and obnoxious jerk!
“Malice should be kicked out, so thanks to that Slytherin heir,” Ron quickly chimed in, “everyone’s saying Harry—I mean Potter—that he’s the heir, but you know who the real one is—”
“I really wish I knew who that person was,” Malfoy said arrogantly, “so I could help him.”
Ron was taken aback by the answer and stared wide-eyed, looking exactly like Crabbe's usual foolish self.
“You must know something about who’s behind all this…” Harry quickly seized the opportunity to ask.
"You know perfectly well I don't know, how many times do I have to tell you?" Malfoy snapped. "Father wouldn't tell me about the Chamber of Secrets. He said it would seem suspicious if I knew too much. But I do know that fifty years ago, when the Chamber was opened, a Mudblood died... Perhaps another Mudblood will die this time, it's only a matter of time, and I think it's very likely Granger, but..."
Ron's fist hardened, and Harry quickly and quietly kicked him under the chair, signaling him to bear with it.
“That scarred man is still running around searching for the Chamber of Secrets heir. Humph, I hope he finds him. I can offer some necessary assistance to the heir,” Malfoy said, his face darkening again. “You know, the situation is quite different now than it was fifty years ago. Muggle-bloods like Granger deserve to be eliminated, but… cough, some Muggle-bloods are also considered wizards, so we can’t generalize.”
Harry sensed something was off about what he was saying, but he didn't think too much about it for the moment and continued, "Do you know if the person who opened the Chamber of Secrets last time was caught?"
"Whoever it is, they've been fired anyway," Malfoy said impatiently. "They're probably still in Azkaban now."
“Azkaban?” Harry heard the word for the first time.
Malfoy didn't answer this time, but looked at Harry suspiciously.
“Oh, yes, Azkaban,” Harry shifted uneasily in his chair, “I’m feeling a little sleepy—”
Ron saw Harry's hair gradually turning black, and a lightning bolt-shaped scar faintly appearing on his forehead; while in Harry's eyes, Ron's hair was turning red, and his neck was slowly growing longer—the Polyjuice Potion was about to be administered.
"What's wrong with you two today?" Malfoy also felt that the two of them were behaving very strangely today, even more so than usual, which was indeed a bit odd.
"My stomach hurts!" Harry and Ron exchanged a horrified look and jumped up from their chairs.
"Let's go get medicine for our stomachaches!" Ron quickly made up an excuse, jumped up, and ran towards the exit of the Slytherin common room.
Harry was a fraction of a second slower: as he stood up, he noticed a card in the package Malfoy had opened, which simply read, "Merry Christmas."
But the signature at the end immediately caught his eye; it was an unusually familiar initials—LH.
But his shrinking body and melting facial features were telling him that now was not the time to be distracted.
Harry quickly turned around and stumbled after Ron, running on instinct. The two of them rushed up the steps, into the dark foyer, and ran straight to the cabinet containing Crabbe and Goyle.
A muffled thud came from inside the closet. They quickly threw their shoes and coats at the closet door and ran to the bathroom to find Hermione when no one was looking.

After the Christmas dinner, Leila was taken by the twins to the lawn by the Black Lake.
"So your Christmas presents are giant squid caught fresh from the Black Lake?" Lyra could only tease the two of them verbally, since George had blindfolded her from behind.
But given that she hadn't received any Christmas gifts from the two of them yet, she couldn't help but think that it wasn't impossible.
“Oh, what a heartless lady—” George’s laughter came from behind.
“They actually want us to go to the lake to catch giant squid—” Fred said, walking ahead.
“Our small bodies aren’t even enough to fill its teeth!” the two said in unison.
"Hmph, the consequence of not giving me a Christmas present is being thrown into the Black Lake to feed the fish." Leila could feel that she was getting close to the lake, and the increasingly low temperature made goosebumps rise on her arms.
"What exactly are you..." Lyra was about to complain about the cold when George removed the scarf from her eyes.
"Merry Christmas!" Colorful fireworks exploded in the sky along with the two people's joyful cheers, instantly turning the quiet and serene lakeside into a lively scene. Unlike the usual stray sparks of fireworks, streaks of gold and green fire soared through the black night sky, scattering sparks and light wherever they went, creating a spectacular and beautiful sight.
Lyra was captivated by the beautiful scenery, her smoky gray eyes sparkling under the exploding fireworks. George and Fred, meanwhile, grinned as they watched the dark-haired girl's profile as she intently admired the fireworks.
At this moment, there were only the three of them in the world.
"Thank you, this is the most beautiful Christmas gift I've ever received," Lyra said, thanking them with a smile as beautiful as fireworks.
“This is only half a Christmas present,” George and Fred said with a grin, pulling out a gift box from behind them.
Leila opened it with delight and found a set of rainbow gummies inside, seven different colored candies, each one crystal clear and as beautiful as a gemstone.
She tasted a yellow candy; oh, it was lemon-flavored.
Just as Leila was about to comment that the taste was good, she heard a "bang" and her head turned into a giant train engine, with yellow smoke billowing out of her ears!
"Whoosh—" Leila opened her mouth as if to say something, but could only make the sound of a train arriving at the station.
"This is our real Christmas present—"
"It's also a new product we've completed—"
"Steam Locomotive Gummy Candy!"
