Struggling to survive at Hogwarts
Chapter 80 Duel Club
Thea had a rather indifferent attitude towards confinement.
No matter how Dumbledore tried to probe, Thea remained clueless.
From time to time, whenever Thea had a question about a spell, potion, or even magical creature from Lockhart's book, Dumbledore would always provide an answer as soon as Thea asked.
If we ignore the glint in Dumbledore's eyes, Thea says the lesson was quite enjoyable.
Furthermore, in addition to Professor Lockhart's analysis, Dumbledore also copied other people's works and had Thea continue writing papers.
In this way, Thea received Dumbledore's private instruction in spells, potions, shapeshifting, and even Quidditch.
If it weren't for the fact that she spoke Parsley, Thea would almost have thought that the other party was grooming her as a savior.
However, the thought was quickly extinguished by Thea.
Time flies, and it's already mid-December.
Thea had just finished Dumbledore's confinement that day and slowly walked into the common room with weary steps.
Unfortunately, while the expert's lectures were very rewarding, they also put a lot of pressure on me.
I don't know what's wrong with Dumbledore, but the books he chooses for her are getting more and more profound, and a lot of the knowledge is beyond Thea's comprehension.
To avoid bothering Dumbledore with basic questions, Thea continued to enrich herself in the library in private, and she didn't even know how many energizing potions she had given herself.
--------
“Thea! Lockhart… Professor has started a dueling club! Do you have time…”
Seeing Thea's expression, as if her body had been hollowed out, Daphne's voice grew softer and softer.
"Thea, are you alright? You've been looking increasingly unwell lately," Draco said, noticing Thea's pale complexion and expressing his concern.
"I'm fine. You just mentioned... a dueling club? Or is it run by Professor Lockhart?"
If Daphne hadn't brought it up, Thea would have almost forgotten about this plot point.
“Yes! If you ask me, Dumbledore should have had Professor Flitwick start a dueling club! He’s the dueling champion!” Theodore chimed in, quite excitedly.
“Indeed, Professor Flitwick is far superior to Professor Lockhart,” Zabini remarked, a rare occurrence for him.
"When is it? I'll talk to Dumbledore, and he should let me go."
“It’s next Thursday, in the Great Hall,” Draco replied.
"Okay, let's not talk about that now. How's your study progress lately?" Thea asked the group.
"I've recently been researching free mind-clearing agents, tranquilizers, and blood tonics," Draco announced first, revealing his progress.
“I’ve been studying Intermediate Transfiguration recently and have written a few papers, which I’ve already submitted to Professor McGonagall for review,” Daphne said with considerable confidence.
"I've been practicing spells these past few days, mainly the petrification and disarming spells," Zabini said succinctly.
“I’ve been studying euphoria potions, dream-free potions, and sobering potions these past few days,” Theodore retorted, not to be outdone.
“I’ve been practicing spells these past few days, mainly disarming and fire spells,” Pansy added.
"Yes, you've all been doing very well lately. Here are some notes I've compiled recently about potions and shapeshifting. Feel free to take them if you need them, or share them with other students."
I haven't compiled a list of spells yet, so please be careful when practicing.
Thea gave a slightly worried reminder.
"Okay, okay!" x5.
Next Thursday.
At 8 p.m., the group arrived at the auditorium on time. When they arrived, they found that the dining table had been transformed into a long and large stage.
The young wizards from various academies stood excitedly below the stage, gazing at it with great curiosity.
Thanks to Thea's popularity, the group managed to squeeze into the front row.
Before long, a figure dressed in a magnificent robe walked onto the stage, followed by Professor Snape in a black robe!
Taking advantage of her position, Thea could clearly see that the moment Professor Snape appeared, countless young wizards in the audience changed color and some even trembled with fear!
Professor Lockhart looked at the densely packed group of young wizards below, flashed his signature smile, and raised his hand to signal them to quiet down.
"Very good! Very good! Can you all see me? Can you all hear what I'm saying? It seems you can all hear me!"
"Given what has happened in the past few weeks, Professor Dumbledore has given me special permission to open this fighting club so that everyone can train and acquire the ability to defend themselves!"
Thea and the others around her exchanged glances, and unanimously saw the same look of disdain in their eyes.
“Now! Let me introduce my assistant,” Lockhart said, extending his hand towards the opposite side, “Professor Snape!”
"Please rest assured! After the demonstration, I will return your potions professorship to you intact!"
After Lockhart finished his opening remarks, he smiled at the audience again, which drew screams and applause from some of the little witches.
Professor Snape slowly walked onto the stage in this atmosphere, and judging from his gloomy face, he definitely wanted to kick the peacock off the stage.
Lockhart seemed to notice Snape's bad mood, and without further ado, the two bowed to each other and then raised their wands high.
"one two three!"
As soon as Lockhart finished counting, Professor Snape promptly cast a spell that shot straight at Lockhart!
"Oh!"
A dull thud echoed as Professor Lockhart was sent flying, landing hard on his face.
"He's too weak!" Draco said disdainfully.
“Exactly!” Daphne agreed.
At the same time, the young wizards in the audience booed.
Lockhart, however, seemed not to hear him. He immediately got up from the ground and tried to save face, saying, "Excellent demonstration! Professor Snape, but if I may be so bold, your intentions were too obvious. I could have easily dodged it."
Upon hearing this, Snape's lips slowly curled into a sarcastic smile, making his already gloomy face even more terrifying.
“I think we should first teach students how to resist evil curses, shouldn’t we, Professor Lockhart…?”
Thea was very close to the stage, so she could clearly hear Snape emphasizing the word "Professor".
“That’s an excellent suggestion, Professor Snape.”
Lockhart turned and looked around, his gaze landing on Harry and Ron in the Gryffindor group: "Potter, Weasley, you two come up here."
Professor Snape immediately dismissed his suggestion: "Weasley's wand malfunctions even with the simplest spells. If he hurts Potter, we'll have to send him to the infirmary..."
The next second, Snape turned around.
Thea clearly felt the other person's gaze linger on her for a long time, but in the end she called out to Draco, who was standing next to her.
"Malfoy! Get on!"
Draco was called upon by the professor, and although he was somewhat surprised, he immediately stepped onto the stage.
"Be careful, and finish this quickly!"
Under Snape's oppressive gaze, Thea gave him a worried reminder.
"understood!"
