Struggling to survive at Hogwarts
Chapter 62, Grade 2
Thea brought a bunch of trinkets with her before she set off.
A small pistol disassembled into a ton of parts, 50 bullets, a small incendiary bomb made in Russia, and an extremely sharp and small dagger.
Thea packed all these items into a suitcase that had been enchanted with a traceless extension spell.
After all, this semester is just too dangerous.
Wait a minute, it seems like every school year is dangerous!
Throughout Harry Potter's school years, there were trolls in his first year, basilisks in his second, werewolves in his third, and dragons in his fourth...
Hey! Did Harry just rummage into the lair of magical creatures? How come these dangerous animals get involved every year?
Thea said with some resentment.
"Thea, what book are you reading?"
Daphne leaned closer out of curiosity, but looked away the next second. She had just caught a glimpse of Thea's pages, which were covered in characters that looked like scribbles.
"This is a brief introduction to ancient runes."
Thea found Daphne's troubled expression somewhat amusing.
"No way! Thea, aren't we supposed to have Runewen electives next year?" Theodore asked doubtfully.
"Yes, that's why I'm studying now."
Seeing Thea's matter-of-fact expression, the people in the carriage were speechless.
Hmm, today is another day where I'm starting to suspect that Thea is a Ravenclaw!
Thea and the others got off the train and followed the flow of people to the carriage, intending to take the carriage into the school. The first-year students also had to cross the path and then take a boat into the school.
Thea looked at the emaciated black Pegasus before her, with a dragon-like head and enormous bat wings, and a realization flashed in her eyes. This was... Thestral?
How come you're so thin?
He was even thinner than Harry when he first enrolled.
Thea lost interest and was about to walk to the car when she saw Theodore standing next to her looking dazed.
Looking in the direction the other was looking, I saw it was a Thestral.
Thea understood immediately when she thought of Thestrals' unique attributes.
With a relaxed smile, she walked towards Theodore. "You can see it too? I thought I was the only one who could see it."
Theodore whirled around. "You...can see it too?"
The boy stammered because he was so excited.
Thea chuckled softly, "Yes, I can see them too. They're called Thestrals, and they're very mysterious animals."
Theodore stared intently at the girl before him. She had black hair and a relaxed smile in her eyes and brows, as if the creature he feared as poison was nothing more than an ant in her eyes. The gentle light from the nearby lamps shone on her, making her look like a goddess.
The goddess extended her hand to him, "Let's go, it's time to get in the car!"
Theodore thought he must have lost his mind; how could he have acted like an idiot and been led onto the carriage by the girl?
"Actually, there's nothing to be afraid of about Thestrals. They're just a bit scary-looking... It's said that they bring all sorts of terrible disasters to those who see them, which is even more ridiculous. Seeing animals is considered an omen of bad luck?"
Theodore listened as the girl casually explained the knowledge about Thestrals, knowing that she was trying to ease his anxiety, and a slight smile appeared on his lips.
The carriage swayed and rocked forward, with only Thea and Theodore inside. The dim light shone on them, and an ambiguous atmosphere gradually filled the air.
Theodore suddenly wished the road could be longer, so that this moment could linger a little longer.
But even the longest road has an end, and amidst their swaying and staggering, they arrived.
"Thea! Why are you all so slow?"
As soon as he entered the Great Hall, Draco couldn't help but complain.
"I was delayed a bit on the way," Thea replied casually, then sat down next to Daphne.
Draco didn't care about Thea's perfunctory attitude and turned back to continue chatting with Zabini.
Zabini glanced at the distracted Theodore, then followed his gaze to... Thea.
While Zabini may not be the most talented, he has made a living by reading people's expressions since he was a child. When it comes to the ability to read people's expressions, few people are as perceptive as him.
He stared at the two of them for a long time, occasionally responding to Draco's words, before sighing inwardly: What a pity, how could they go blind at such a young age?
Can't you tell that the other party is a real man-eating plant?
They fall so easily, aren't they afraid of being devoured until there's nothing left?
Thea had no idea what Zabini was thinking about her, but if she did, given her personality, she would probably just laugh off the man-eating flower's reputation.
At this moment, Thea's entire attention was drawn to the familiar figure among the group of little rascals!
What?
what's the situation?
What's Daisy doing here?
Thea was initially full of questions, but the next second, she suddenly looked towards the professor's table: Dumbledore seemed to have anticipated her reaction, and calmly picked up the pumpkin juice in front of him, making a gesture of raising a glass to Thea.
"Snapped"!
The glass, unable to withstand the weight, cracked open, and the milk inside slowly seeped out.
Thea then came to her senses. Facing the surprised looks of those around her, she tried hard to suppress the urge to stab someone and took the handkerchief Daphne handed her to carefully wipe the milk off her hands.
She said casually, "Sorry, this cup doesn't seem to be of very good quality."
But when the people around looked at the glass covered with cracks, their eyes widened in surprise, they swallowed hard, and then immediately buried their heads in the plate, pretending to be nonchalant.
Ultimately, the urge to kill couldn't be hidden. Even though Thea didn't make any drastic moves and had concealed her aura,
But the people around her still secretly kept their distance from her, after all, no one dared to provoke Thea in this state.
As a result, the oppressive atmosphere spread like wildfire throughout the Slytherin long table. A few troublemakers were unhappy, but they were eventually suppressed by the prefect's gaze.
I said, isn't it good to be alive? Why be so stubborn as to provoke Thea like Granfend? Aren't you afraid she'll just twist your skull off?
The class monitor is so tired.
The college selection ceremony on the stage was still ongoing.
"Daisy Anne White!"
Upon hearing the name, Daphne, who had been observing Thea, noticed that the other woman seemed to raise her head slightly with a small curve.
Looking again, Thea was still slowly wiping her fingers, as if the moment she looked up was just Daphne's illusion.
But Daphne swears that Thea definitely looked up just now!
Hufflepuff!
The sharp sound of the Sorting Hat rang out, and everyone was somewhat surprised. Why would it take so long to be sorted into Hufflepuff?
Daphne wasn't surprised at all; she could swear she really did see Thea's lips curl up slightly!
The rest of the proceedings went smoothly, but Thea left early, saying only, "I'm going to the principal's office!" before leaving the shocked group behind.
Please, this is the principal's office, not the battlefield! Get rid of that murderous look on your face!
