Struggling to survive at Hogwarts

Chapter 37 Flight Lessons

So, under Thea's encouragement, the group, for whatever reason, at least put on a positive attitude in class, but whether they actually tried their best or not, only they themselves knew.

Thea naturally saw through their little scheme, but she didn't interfere. Instead, she slowly came up with an idea in her mind.

After all, if the members of this study group are trained well in the future, they might be of great help to her.

As most people expected, Thea became the best-performing little wizard in every class since she enrolled.

In the Transfiguration class, Thea became the fastest and best little wizard in the class, able to turn matches into needles, and she also raised her questions to Professor McGonagall.

Even though Professor McGonagall had mixed feelings about the child, what teacher wouldn't like a good student who listens attentively in class, actively answers questions, and asks the teacher for help after class?

The same applies to Charms class, since Thea and Draco had already learned the relevant theoretical knowledge at home, and what they lacked most now was practice.

Professor Flitwick, with his extensive experience, quickly identified the problem with the two girls. As a result, Thea and Draco became the best-performing young wizards in that class, earning Slytherin a full 20 points.

Even though Draco has always been arrogant and domineering, what child of this age wouldn't like to be praised by their teacher?

Seeing the pride on Draco's face, the expressions of the rest of the study group members, except for Goyle and Crabbe, softened somewhat.

Thea smiled slightly as she watched Daphne suggest reviewing her lessons, and the others chimed in. The first step of the plan had been a success!

Since the study group was formed, the library has become the place they frequent most. Even Gore and Crabbe have started to study first-year courses.

However, the young wizards' enthusiasm did not last long. Soon, the news that flying lessons would begin this Thursday spread throughout the entire first grade.

Seeing the group members' distracted expressions, Thea's eyes flickered, and she said mercifully, "Since everyone is tired these past few days, why don't we take a few days off?"

Theodore was the first to react: "Really?!"

But he was quickly glared at by Daphne, and Theodore realized he had misspoke, so he touched his nose somewhat embarrassedly.

Daphne immediately said to Thea, "Thea, these boys like Quidditch, but Pansy and I will definitely stay with you!"

As she spoke, she gestured for Pansy to express her opinion, and Pansy, receiving the look, immediately indicated that she would always follow Thea.

At this point, Draco objected: "Quidditch is fun, but I prefer studying to Quidditch!"

Upon hearing this, everyone looked at Draco with an indescribable expression, their eyes filled with accusation: "Draco, how could you be this kind of person!"

Thea had seen enough of these kids pledging their loyalty and understood what they were thinking, so she naturally expressed her hope that they would relax a bit and start studying again in a few days.

Everyone repeatedly observed Thea's face to see if she was unhappy. After confirming that Thea was telling the truth, everyone beamed with joy!

They all rushed straight to their dorm rooms, planning to casually tell others about their glorious feat of riding a broomstick!

Only Blaise and Thea remained in the library, packing up their textbooks.

Watching Thea slowly pack her things, Blaise asked in a low voice, "Will this flight lesson be anything but peaceful?"

Upon hearing this, Thea immediately smiled innocently and said, "How could that be? Flight lessons are too dangerous for me to decide."

Blaise looked at the girl's innocent smile, his gaze slowly shifting to the Quidditch pitch outside the window. His eyes darkened, and he said casually, "Who knows?"

Thursday afternoon arrived amidst everyone's anticipation, and all the first-year students in Slytherin were excited, their enthusiasm undiminished even upon learning that they would be attending classes with Gryffindor.

The sky was a clear, deep blue, and sunlight pierced through the clouds, falling on people's faces and bringing them a sense of joy.

Thea looked at the peaceful and serene scene before her, everything bathed in the warmth of the sun, as if the whole world had become beautiful. But thinking about what was about to happen, Thea's good mood was inevitably clouded.

Draco noticed that Thea seemed a little down and assumed that her conflict with Potter that morning had upset her.

When he looked up and saw Potter grinning foolishly across from him, Draco's excitement for the flight lesson diminished considerably.

On the wide lawn, more than twenty flying brooms were neatly arranged, and the young wizards from the two academies were already standing in neat rows beside them.

Mrs. Hodge was loudly explaining to everyone how to control the flying broom.

Harry was very excited; this was the first time he had ever seen such a cool sport. The only downside was that this class was with the first-year Slytherins.

He noticed Draco's arrogant expression and couldn't help but mutter: "Slytherins are so annoying, especially that arrogant Draco!"

Coincidentally, Draco thought the same thing.

At Lady Hodge's command, the young wizards began issuing commands to make the brooms jump automatically into their hands.

"Get up!" each little wizard shouted at the broom at their feet.

Thea was no exception. Although her broom looked a bit old, it still obediently flicked into Thea's palm when it heard Thea's command.

After getting the broom, Thea began to observe the little wizards around her.

Harry and Draco already had their brooms in their hands. "No wonder they're future Quidditch players," Thea exclaimed.

Theodore and Blaise's brooms merely bounced on the ground before landing in their hands after the second command was given.

Daphne and Pansy successfully grabbed their brooms as well.

Once everyone had their brooms in hand, Madam Huo Qi began the next step: "Alright, when I whistle, you all push off the ground with your legs, push hard."

"Hold the broom steady, rise a few feet, then lean forward slightly and listen to my whistle, three, two..."

However, Neville was too nervous. Before Mrs. Hooch could count to three, he pushed off with all his might and was the first to fly into the air, completely unaware of Mrs. Hooch calling him to come down.

"Oh no! Neville doesn't seem to know how to use a flying broom!"

"He looks like he's about to fall!" a young wizard exclaimed.

The situation became increasingly tense.

While everyone was focused on Neville in the sky, Blaise noticed that Thea slowly retreated to the back of the crowd, her right hand slowly moving to her side...

"She wants to save Neville!" That was the first thought in Blaise's mind.

Blaise guessed right. Thea held her wand, aimed it intently at Neville in the sky, and said firmly, "Yugadimur Leviosa!"

Thea's voice wasn't loud, perhaps because everyone in front was focused on Neville, and no one heard the girl's chanting.

Thea's eyes were fixed on Neville's figure, unaware of the surprised glances cast at her from the crowd.
