I raise elves in Florian
Chapter 78 Folk Magic
"It's a folk magic trick; they say that using this magic can produce warm tea. I'll try it out later."
Frilian looked at the magic scroll in her hand and said.
"But, doesn't Lord Shi Yichen know this magic?"
Philon looked at Frillie with confusion, because Shi Yichen also knew the magic to conjure up hot tea.
"That's different. Yi Chen's magic can conjure up steaming hot tea, and it can even make different kinds of tea depending on the amount of magic power. This one can only conjure up lukewarm tea. It's a different kind of magic."
Frillie shook her head. Although these two folk magic spells were similar, there were still differences in how they were used.
"Well! It's not that Frilian likes magic, but rather the process of collecting it. Don't underestimate these folk magic spells; if used correctly, they can be comparable to combat magic."
Shi Yichen rubbed Philon's little head. Philon was still too young and didn't understand the cruelty of the magical world. No matter how powerful a mage you are, you can die from a small, ordinary magical attack.
"Last time it was magic to remove rust from bronze statues, and before that it was magic to turn sweet grapes into sour grapes. You've collected some really strange magic!"
Philon stared speechlessly at Frilian. There were some folk magic spells that Philon had never seen Frilian use, but Frilian still collected them, which Philon couldn't understand.
"After all, it's my interest."
Frillie felt that any magic she had never seen before was worth collecting, even if the magic was useless.
"Lady Frillien really loves magic!"
"Philen said to Frilian."
"I like it, just like you."
Frilian looked intently at the magic scroll containing the spells and responded to Philon.
"I feel it's not quite the same."
"The same."
Frilian and Philen took turns talking, while Shi Yichen just watched them with a smile. Although Philen was only a teenager, she was much more reliable than Frilian.
"You don't resemble Lord Shi Yichen at all, even though you've lived together for so long."
Looking at Frilian walking ahead, Philon sighed. Frilian and Shi Yichen were two completely opposite personalities, but it was strange that these two extreme personalities could be together.
Haita told him everything about the relationship between Shi Yichen and Frilian. At first, she couldn't accept it, but after a while, she realized it wasn't a big deal! Because she also liked Shi Yichen very much.
"Lord Shi Yichen, you've actually been willing to take care of Lady Frilian for so long. Don't you really find Lady Frilian repulsive?"
Seeing Frilian's state, Philon couldn't help but ask Shi Yichen.
"Well! What can you do? If you love someone, you have to accept all of them. I love Frilian, so I will accept all of her flaws. You will do the same when you meet someone you like in the future."
Shi Yichen smiled and gently rubbed Philon's little head.
"Mr. Haita said that I am too young to date now and I have to wait until I turn eighteen."
Philen squinted as she enjoyed Shi Yichen's caresses, recalling what Haita had said to her before he left.
"Who can say for sure! If you meet someone you like, don't miss out! Like me, once I've set my sights on someone, I won't let go."
Shi Yichen looked at Frilian walking ahead. She had set her sights on Frilian a thousand years ago. Although Frilian was a bit slow on the uptake, she was still with her now.
"I don't think it will be that fast! Don't feelings take time to develop?"
Philon tilted her head and looked at Shi Yichen. She didn't believe in love at first sight; all love at first sight was lust at first sight.
You're just lusting after other people's bodies, you're despicable!
"That's hard to say. For example, when I first met Frilian, I vowed that I would marry no one but her."
Shi Yichen proudly boasted to Philon about her love with Frilian.
"Ugh! I'm so full!"
Philon suddenly felt a sense of fullness, which made him let out a burp.
"Oh! We can see the village now."
The three walked for an unknown amount of time before suddenly seeing a village ahead.
"This looks so familiar! It's like I've been here before."
Shi Yichen looked at the village and realized that it seemed like she had been there before.
"An adventurer?"
An old woman leaned on her cane as she watched the three people walk into the village.
"Yes, is there anything you need us to do?"
Frilian looked down at the old woman, who was also a little girl; Frilian was much, much older than the old woman.
"Are you really willing to accept my request? I am a herbalist, and I don't think I have any magic to teach you."
The old woman looked up at Frillie and suddenly felt that she had seen this person before, but she couldn't remember where she had seen her before.
"It's alright, just tell me about the vegetation in this area."
Frilian doesn't necessarily require magic as payment; it depends on what the client has. Frilian isn't an unreasonable person.
"Then come with me!"
The old woman led Shi Yichen and the other two into the woods.
"This is it."
After walking for a while, the old woman stopped, and there stood a statue in front of her.
Frillian and Shi Yichen looked at the statue in front of them without any surprise. No wonder this village looked so familiar; they had indeed been here before.
"It's a statue of the hero Simmel!"
Philon looked at the statue of Simmel and said that when she was a child, she often heard stories about Simmel from Haita. These were all wonderful memories for Haita, and Philon listened with great interest because she found their adventures very interesting.
"It's unbearable to watch, isn't it! I'm just an old man, and I'm completely helpless. The villagers don't care at all anymore."
When the village was attacked by the demons, it was Lady Simmel who fought desperately against them; it's truly pitiful that she was treated this way.
The old woman looked up at the statue of Simmel, a hero who had saved the village, who had been forgotten here after only seventy-odd years.
There was nothing they could do; most of the village's elderly had died, and the young people of today rarely heard of Simmel and his comrades' deeds. As a result, everyone gradually forgot about this hero who had once saved the world.
Philon listened from the side and felt sorry for Simmel. He was clearly a hero who saved the world, but he was forgotten by the world. How disheartening it must be for the dead heroes.
"No, he brought it on himself. He should blame Simmel for being too attention-seeking. He should have just refused when the villagers wanted to build a statue for him."
Frilian, on the other hand, felt that the statue of Simmel was in this state entirely because of Simmel's own fault. If the statue hadn't been built, none of this would have happened. It was all Simmel's own doing.
