I raise elves in Florian

Chapter 55 Departure

"Frilian, we're going to meet up with Simmel first. You know where it is, so we won't bother you any longer."

Haita gave Aize a look, and Aize nodded. The two then followed the carriage away.

"Looks like you're getting ready to leave! I hope I'm not late!"

Shi Yichen watched as Haita and Aize were carrying many things and putting them onto the carriage, but he didn't see Xinmeier.

"You've come at the right time. They're just about to go to the king to apply for permission to defeat the demon king."

Frilian took Shi Yichen's hand, their fingers intertwined tightly, and gently rested her head against Shi Yichen's chest. This was something they only did when no one else was around.

After all, wouldn't it look strange if outsiders saw two girls being intimate?

"Really? Let's go together!"

Shi Yichen held Frilian's little hand and walked in the direction where Haita and the others had left.

Just then, a group of fully armed soldiers walked onto the street, followed by a large sedan chair. On the sedan chair was an old man wearing a golden crown.

In an instant, all the residents retreated to both sides of the road, and there seemed to be three soldiers in the group, two of whom were tied up.

When Shi Yichen and Frilian approached, they found that it was actually Simmel, Haita, and Aize. However, Simmel and Aize were trapped, and Haita was pleading with the king to release Simmel and Aize.

Simmel kept apologizing, but Aize didn't say a word, just sat upright on the ground, not afraid at all.

What's wrong with them?

Frilian didn't understand. Everything was fine just a moment ago, so why did it suddenly turn into this? It was as if she was about to be executed. The soldiers standing behind Simmel and Azer all drew their longswords and raised them high.

"Who knows!"

Shi Yichen had no idea what Simmel and Aize had said to the king, which had led to the point where they were being killed everywhere.

"What should we do? If they are really executed, then this campaign to defeat the Demon King will end before it even begins."

Frilian said with some regret that she had finally been persuaded by Simmel, but this was the result; it was about to end before they even set off.

"Don't look at me like that. I'm not going to save them, especially not in front of the king. They must not want to live in human territory anymore."

Shi Yichen didn't want to be chased every day; she just wanted to live a quiet life with Frilian. Besides, it was Simmel and the others who disrespected the king, so why should she help them?

After hearing what Shi Yichen said, Frilian felt that it made a lot of sense. It was someone else's fault, so why should they have to pay the price?

In Frilian's mind, whatever Shi Yichen said was right, and whatever Shi Yichen did had its own reasons.

Finally, after Haita's desperate pleas and Simmel and Aize's sincere apologies, the king chose to spare them.

I also heard that they were going to fight the Demon King, and they were given ten copper coins for travel expenses.

It's not that the king is short of money, but rather that every year many adventurers go to hunt down the demon king, and none of them succeed. After a while, they just give up and start doing it for show. Who knows if they will even survive?

And so the five of them embarked on their journey to defeat the Demon King.

"In the end, His Majesty the King only gave us ten copper coins!"

Aize was a little disappointed; with that little money, he couldn't even afford a bunch of sour grapes.

"How stingy!"

Frillie chimed in, saying that this amount of money wasn't even as much as the allowance she'd been given in the past.

"That's understandable. Countless heroes have set out to defeat the Demon King, but all of them have ended in failure!"

Haita felt that His Majesty the King had done nothing wrong.

"It's alright. Just focus on completing the subjugation quests diligently. Earning your own travel expenses is good too; that's what adventure is all about."

Simmel was quite optimistic. Since there was no money, they would earn it themselves. As he spoke, he drew the greatsword hanging at his waist.

"That's right."

Haita said from the side.

Shi Yichen remained silent. She wasn't short of money, so she didn't need to worry about it. If Xinmeier and the others were really short of money, she would still help them.

"Speaking of that sword, isn't it the sword of a hero?"

Frillie looked at the greatsword in Simmel's hand, which resembled the Hero's Sword, but she had never heard of anyone drawing the Hero's Sword!

"It's a fake!"

Haita said to Frilian.

"I once rescued a traveling merchant from the village from a monster, and he gave me this as a thank you gift, saying it was for a future hero. It was just something to appease a child."

Simmel didn't feel that wielding a fake sword disqualified her from being a hero, and so what if it was fake?

"Is this your chance to become a hero?"

Frilian felt that Simmel wouldn't choose to become a hero with a fake hero's sword; that wouldn't be in line with Simmel's character at all.

"No, it's because there's a guy named Haita in the village's orphanage who's really infuriating. He said my sword is fake, so I can only become a fake hero."

Simmel looked at the Hero's Sword in his hand and recalled what Haita had said. Although it was infuriating, it was precisely those words that gave him endless motivation.

"Humph."

Haita just smiled and didn't say anything.

"So I decided that I would become a true hero. In the future, I will definitely obtain the true hero's sword and defeat the Demon King."

Looking at the fake Hero's Sword in his hand, Simmel's eyes grew even more determined. Since he had started, he had to do it to the best of his ability, otherwise how could he live up to everyone who supported him?

"But time is cruel and merciless. Haita, who once made outrageous remarks, is now a fake monk who only knows how to drink."

Simmel also took the opportunity to tell everyone about Haita's embarrassing moments. Despite being a monk, he loved to drink and didn't act like one at all.

"I really am."

Haita smiled and followed Simmel.

"Hahaha!"

Aize smiled and followed.

"Sword of the Hero!"

When Xinmeier and the others mentioned it, Shi Yichen recalled that she had drawn the Hero's Sword five hundred years ago and even met the Goddess. So, if she drew it again, would she be able to meet the Goddess again?

"What? You've seen him before?"

Frilian looked at Shi Yichen.

"Of course, some interesting things also happened!"

Shi Yichen thought of the cute little village chief from back then, wondering how much of what happened back then she had recorded, and also that Xinmeier and the others were going to the Land of Swords.

"Don't look at me like that. I can't tell you now, but you'll find out in time."

Shi Yichen gently rubbed Frilian's head and kept looking at her, but she wouldn't say anything.

"Let's go! They're already far away."

Shi Yichen took Frilian's hand and sped up to catch up with the three people ahead, including Simmel.
