I raise elves in Florian
Chapter 12 Flower Sea Magic
"Yes!"
Flame agreed with Frilian, since it didn't fit her strong-willed personality.
"My favorite magic is the magic that creates beautiful flower fields. My parents taught me this magic when I was a child, and it was the reason I fell in love with magic."
It's surprising that the great mage Flame's favorite magic is the magic that creates flower fields. Even if I told others, I feel like no one would believe me.
"Hoohoo!"
A gentle breeze blew by, and Frilian and Flame turned to look. They saw Shi Yichen touch the ground, and soon the meadow was covered with colorful flowers, carpeting the entire earth.
"Look! Isn't it beautiful?"
As Flame gazed at the endless sea of flowers, her eyes were filled with memories of her childhood with her parents.
Flame wasn't surprised that Shi Yichen could conjure up a sea of flowers, because her teacher, Celia, could too.
"Teach me this magic!"
Frillie looked at her teacher, who had grown old, and this was probably the last thing she could do for her.
Frillie knew, of course, that her teacher would die soon, but she was very oblivious to this fact; Frillie thought death was a normal thing.
"Listen up, Frilian, Yichen, don't think about making a name for yourselves in history. You should live a low-key life. The day you defeat the Demon King will be the day you make a name for yourselves in history."
Especially with Chen, a human possessing eternal life, he will bring a lot of trouble. Humans are selfish and will stop at nothing to achieve their goals.
Flame spoke earnestly to her two disciples, for after her death she would no longer be able to protect them, and they would have to rely on themselves.
She sensed that her lifespan was running out, so she wanted to give her two disciples some final instructions before she died.
…………
Several months later.
Frilian and Shi Yichen stood blankly in front of their teacher Flame's grave, where the surrounding area had turned into a sea of flowers, as their teacher had said.
“Plant flowers around her grave.”
These were Flamenez's last words.
Under the magical influence of Frilian and Shi Yichen, the entire land blossomed with boundless flowers.
"Let's go! Let's deliver the teacher's last letter to Celia."
Shi Yichen took Frilian's hand and said to her.
"Ok!"
Frillie stared blankly at her teacher's grave.
"I'm here for you. You won't be alone."
Shi Yichen raised his hand and stroked Frilian's little head.
"Ok!"
Frillian and Shi Yichen returned to their residence and began packing their things. Their teacher was gone, and they had to leave as well, leaving only the tree that their teacher had planted to guard this place.
"It's time to go!"
Shi Yichen looked at Frilian standing in front of the house, wondering what she was doing. Maybe she was thinking about the time when her teacher was still alive!
"Ok!"
Coming to her senses, Frillie looked at Shi Yichen and nodded.
Wings of wind materialized behind both of them, and Shi Yichen carried Frilian to the palace of their master, Celie.
…………
A month later.
Celia's Palace.
"Frilian, you can go in now. I'll wait for you outside."
Shi Yichen said to Frilian with embarrassment, after all, without her teacher, she was not sure what her grandmaster Celia would do. If she kept her by her side, how would she take care of Frilian?
"Ok!"
Although Frilian didn't understand why Shi Yichen wouldn't go in, she still agreed to his request, and so Frilian walked into the palace alone.
"Frilian, you must hate me! Why did you come looking for me?"
Celia watched as Frilian walked in. She also sensed Shi Yichen's presence and understood why he didn't dare to come in.
Is she really that terrifying? She's quite fond of her grand-disciple.
Since the last time Frilian was brought here by Flame, she had never been seen again until Frilian came again.
"To be honest, I thought we would never see each other again."
Celia sat on the stone chair, looking down at Frilian.
"We've come to deliver our teacher's suicide note."
When Florian returned, she took out the suicide note that her teacher Flame had prepared in advance. This note was written by Flame to her teacher Celia.
When Celia heard what Frillian said, she was stunned, but quickly disappeared.
"Fifty years have passed since then!"
Celia couldn't believe that her favorite apprentice had died like this, but there was nothing she could do about it, as human lifespan is inherently short.
"I see! Flame is dead?"
When Celia said this, her eyes revealed an unbelievable sadness, but it quickly vanished.
Celia pointed her finger, and the suicide note in Frilian's hand flew into hers.
Aren't you sad?
Frilian looked at Celia sitting on top, but as she said those words, she also asked herself in her heart, "Aren't you sad?"
"She was just a disciple I took on on a whim."
As Celia spoke, she opened Flame's suicide note. On the surface, Celia seemed indifferent to Flame's death, but she was only deceiving herself, because Flame was her favorite disciple.
"It's practically a report!"
Celia looked at the suicide note that Flame had written for her. Although Celia only glanced at it casually, she remembered every word written in the note.
"What's written on it?"
Frilian asked Celia.
"It seems the emperor has agreed to allow the entire nation to study magic. In human culture, magic has always been regarded as a technology of monsters, and open research is strictly prohibited."
It was Flame who made this happen; she's in charge of educating that newly created position called Court Magician, and she wants me to continue pushing her work forward—what a greedy fellow.”
Celia put down the suicide note she was holding.
"Just gaining recognition for researching magic is already remarkable enough, yet you still want more."
Looking at what Flame had done in her suicide note, it was unexpected that after Flame died, she would ask her to finish the rest of her business. How greedy!
"Is that a remarkable thing?"
Frilian didn't understand why her teacher Flame was doing such a thing, because in Frilian's view it was an impossible task, but she supported her teacher.
"This means that the largest unified empire on the continent is about to begin researching magic and applying it to military purposes, and the surrounding countries will not remain silent."
In just ten years, magic will spread throughout the entire continent, and the era in which any human can use magic will arrive. This means that in the near future, humanity will gain the power to fight against the Demon King's army.
Celia could only watch as Flame did everything, unable to understand why Flame was so determined to make magic accessible to all humans.
In Celia's eyes, magic is a special thing, and it's not something you can learn just by wanting to.
"Really? That's truly remarkable!"
Frillie also realized what a great thing her teacher had done.
That's exactly what I meant!
Celia also felt that Flame had indeed done a great thing, but she still raised her hand and smashed the suicide note Flame had written to her.
"However, that's not what I wanted. Go back, Frilian. I really can't stand these last words. They make me very unhappy."
Ultimately, Celia's unhappiness stems from Flame's death, but she won't show it.
