"Fuck!" Tony might not care about other people's weapons, but he knew his own weapons well enough to know that helicopters definitely couldn't withstand the attack.

The instant the enemy launched the rocket, Tony opened the helicopter door and jumped into the swimming pool below.

With a loud bang, the helicopter turned into a fireball, and the shockwave from the explosion spread out, reaching Tony.

The shockwave also included some helicopter debris, some of which entered Tony's chest.

Tony fainted instantly, not even reacting when he fell into the swimming pool, and sank to the bottom.

Just then, three armed helicopters arrived and began firing wildly at the mercenaries on the rooftop of Stark Villa.

The mercenaries were routed by armed helicopters because there was nowhere to hide from the bullets on the rooftop.

Meanwhile, a Black man who appeared to be in his thirties was looking into the pool from one of the helicopters, as if he had spotted something.

James Rhodes spotted Tony in the swimming pool, jumped off the plane, leaped into the pool, and swam downstream.

He was a Marine Corps colonel, and diving was a common occurrence for him.

He quickly pulled Tony out of the water.

But Tony was already seriously injured at this point, with a gash in his chest from which blood was flowing uncontrollably.

If this were the real world, then we could basically declare Tony Stark dead.

But this is the Marvel universe, so I can only say anything is possible.

"Colonel Rhodes, there are emergency medical facilities on the ground floor of the villa," Jarvis's voice came through Tony's watch again.

Rhodes wasn't surprised, because he was Tony Stark's close friend and the representative of the military and the defense procurement department in their cooperation with Stark Industries. He knew many of Tony's secrets.

It's no exaggeration to say that Tony knows how many women he changes with every week.

Rhodes quickly picked up Tony and directed his men, the soldiers who had just come down from the armed helicopter, to clear the way and be careful of any remaining enemies inside the villa.

Rhodes quickly arrived below, following Jarvis's instructions.

After placing Tony on the specialized equipment, Jarvis operated the machine to provide temporary relief to Tony.

But this is only a temporary option.

Rhodes has informed the military of the arrangements, and the best surgeons in New York are on their way.

Half an hour later, the best surgeons in all of New York arrived and were performing emergency surgery on Tony Stark in the basement morgue of Stark Villa.

A day and a night passed, and the surgeon emerged from the intensive care unit.

"Dr. Strange, how is Tony?" Pepper Potts, who was waiting anxiously outside, quickly stepped forward and asked.

She rushed over immediately after receiving news that Tony had been attacked.

And he stayed outside for a whole day and night without drinking a drop of water.

Pepper Potts probably didn't even realize that she had already fallen in love with this playboy. She usually kept her heart closed off, but at this moment she wished she had been the one who had been hurt before, rather than see Tony suffer any harm.

“The surgery was a success,” Dr. Stephen Strange said in a deep voice. “However, there is one problem: fragments of the bomb have entered Mr. Stark’s heart. I have dealt with some of them, but some are very difficult to handle, and there is a certain risk in forcibly removing them.”

"Fortunately, Mr. Stark has woken up and said he has a solution, so I don't need to worry about it."

Dr. Strange was actually very dissatisfied with Tony Stark because, as a doctor, he expected his patients to completely trust him, but Tony Stark only trusted himself and refused to have the surgery done again after hearing that it might fail.

However, he believes that if he does it himself, there is still a 65% chance of success.

“Thank you, Dr. Strange.” Pepper Potts rushed in when she heard that Tony was awake.

But when Pepper went in, she was stunned. Tony was controlling a mechanical arm to do something to his chest.

“Tony!” Pepper Potts shouted.

"Wait a minute, Pepper, just a minute," Tony replied dismissively. He was currently focused on installing an electronic magnet in his chest to hold the metal plate near his heart in place, preventing it from flowing through his blood vessels into his body.

However, the robotic arm is a bit too big. It wasn't designed for this purpose, so it naturally can't fit into the chest.

"Pepper! Come here for a second," Tony called out to Pepper immediately.

How big are your hands?

"I don't know what you're talking about?" But trusting Tony, Pepper still went over and held out her hand for Tony to see.

“Such delicate little hands, I think…” Tony looked at Pepper’s hands and then at the hole in her chest, and said, “I want you to do me a favor.”

At this moment, Pepper finally saw the hole in Tony's chest. It was a small hole filled with alloy, forming a metal cavity.

"My God! Tony!" Pepper was shocked and frightened by Tony's injuries.

"Don't worry, I made a little thing. You can just attach it to the base inside my chest." Tony held up an electromagnet, which had no other functions besides electromagnetism.

"Don't worry, it's just like Tetris, just place it in the right spot."

"Tony, is there any danger?" Pepper was very worried that this thing might harm Tony.

"No, no, no, if you don't do something soon, I'll be in danger," Tony said helplessly.

"You are the most reliable and smartest person I know. No one else can help me with this."

Pepper Potts was deeply moved by Tony's words and mustered her courage to hold the electromagnet and connector towards Tony's chest.

It quickly reached into Tony's chest and, through inorganic plasma, inserted the port into the base inside Tony's chest.

A hissing sound rang out.

"Oh~" Tony exclaimed. He felt a tingling sensation from the electric current when the electromagnet was plugged in and running, but it didn't hurt him.

"Oh! Is Tony alright?" Pepper was startled, thinking something had happened to Tony.

"Haha, don't worry, it's fine. I told you it's as simple as Tetris."

Seeing that Tony was alright, Pepper finally couldn't hold back her emotions and buried her face in Tony's arms, crying.

This was the first time Tony had ever seen Pepper Potts cry; she had always been his secretary, a strong, independent woman.

From the moment she heard the news of Tony's injury until the day-and-night surgery, Pepper's heart was constantly in her throat. Only after confirming that Tony was truly alright did she finally feel relieved.
