Harry Potter: This senior is pretty strong

Chapter 87 The Weasleys' Little Guest

In England, there is only one village inhabited solely by wizards: Hogsmeade, located next to Hogwarts.

Then there are villages that are semi-wizard settlements, where wizards live among tolerant or confused Muggles, such as Ottley-St. Catchpol in Devon.

Near this village on the south coast of England, there stands a multi-story building that looks like it was built haphazardly, as if it could be blown over at any moment by the wind.

Of course, this haphazardly constructed multi-story building is actually quite sturdy because its builder was a wizard—it is a house that has been enchanted.

This house has a name: "The Burrow".

The Weasleys lived in the slums.

As many people know, the Weasley family has a long and distinguished history, and the Weasley name in the wizarding world represents justice, loyalty, courage, diligence, kindness, and... poverty.

Today, the Weasley family home welcomes a guest who has traveled from afar.

This guest was brought from faraway Egypt by Bill Weasley, the eldest son of the Weasley family.

“We went through several ‘Port Key’ transfers and rode Muggle vehicles to get here before sunset,” Bill said with a tired but smiling smile as he sipped the tea his mother handed him. He was happy to be home again.

A Portal Key is a magical item that can teleport a person from one place to another, somewhat similar to the Floo Network. However, Portal Keys are generally used for long-distance teleportation.

Molly Weasley looked at her eldest son, affectionately patted his head, and then muttered, "Your hair is such a mess, I'll trim it for you later."

Upon hearing this, Bill gave his younger siblings a helpless smile.

Okay, the familiar maternal love is back.

Of course, the hostess Molly did not overlook their little guest—a well-behaved, quiet, and polite boy named Adam.

“Adam, our living conditions are limited, so you’ll probably have to sleep in the bedroom on the fourth floor with Bill. Or, you could stay with Ron; you’re the same age, and you’ll probably get along well,” Molly Weasley said apologetically to the little boy.

“Mom…” Ron said anxiously upon hearing this.

His small room was a bit messy, and he didn't really want to share a bed with this strange boy.

“Thank you for your hospitality, Mrs. Weasley! I’ll stay with Bill; we discussed it on the way here.” The little boy, Adam, smiled and glanced at Ron before politely addressing Molly Weasley.

"Well, it's decided then. I'll go tidy up your rooms." Before going upstairs, Mrs. Weasley called to her youngest son, "Ron, get Adam some food. Don't neglect our guests!"

George and Fred are both free, so why am I being asked to go? Ron grumbled to himself, but didn't dare to say anything. He then went to get food for the guests with a sullen face.

……

In the evening, the Weasley family of eight (Charlie was not home) and their little guest Adam, a total of nine people, sat around the dining table and ate a delicious meal.

The conversation mainly revolved around Bill and the little guest.

Bill brought some small gifts for his family on his return trip. Of course, none of them were too expensive. Some of them were handmade by him or were things he was allowed to keep when the curse was broken. These gifts made his younger siblings very happy.

"He really liked the little pyramid you gave Qin last time. He even studied it with Professor Swinton at school for a long time. I heard that Professor Snape also helped a lot," Fred or George said. The two brothers looked so alike that even their family often confused them.

“Professor Swinton?” Bill frowned slightly, a puzzled expression on his face.

“Professor Swinton was the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher who came to the school last year. He was a promising young man with a wealth of knowledge, and I often asked him questions. However, he only taught for a year before leaving.” These were the words of Percy Weasley, who was always eager to learn.

Percy is the third son of the Weasley family. He has an older brother, Bill, who is a genius, and an older brother, Charlie, who is the Quidditch captain. He always feels a lot of pressure and always tries his best to improve himself.

Of course, Percy achieved his goal of becoming a prefect in Gryffindor this year, which gave him a small sense of accomplishment.

“Oh, I see… I didn’t expect Professor Snape to be interested in this as well.” Bill’s eyes showed a look of reminiscence, probably thinking of Professor Snape’s perpetually cold face.

Although Bill graduated more than a year ago, he still misses his time at Hogwarts. Even the icy Professor Snape feels a bit warm when he thinks about it now.

“Hehe, you have no idea what kind of person Qin is. The professors at the school all... well, how should I put it, they all pay a lot of attention to him, especially Professor Swinton and Professor Snape. They've always had a good relationship with Qin.” One of the twins said to Bill, and then added, “Bill, I'm Fred. I know you probably didn't recognize me.”

“Yes, Bill, this is George… That’s right, we’ve also heard some rumors that something happened between the three of them before summer vacation, and Professor Snape hasn’t been speaking much to Qin and Professor Swinton since then,” the other twin chimed in.

"Unfortunately, when we asked Qin, he refused to say anything, and even said that if we asked again, he would tie us to the Willow Tree," one of the twins, who called himself Fred, said with a shrug.

"It seems... you have a pretty good relationship with Qin?" Bill asked curiously.

“Not only good, they’re Qin’s most loyal supporters. The three of them spend all their time together and often go to Hagrid’s cabin to tinker with things. Of course, there’s also Charlie, who recruited Qin into the Quidditch team, and Qin played a decisive role in several matches. Charlie really likes him a lot,” Percy interjected.

"Oh? I didn't know you two had so many stories between you!" Bill's eyes lit up when he heard this.

Of all the people present, Bill was the first to know Qin Yu, though they had only met briefly twice. The impression the little boy from the East left on him was that he was cheerful, polite, and seemed quite intelligent.

This reminded Bill of Adam. They were both very smart children, but Adam was more introverted than Qin, who gave off a sunny and cheerful vibe.

“By the way, Adam, we need to go to Diagon Alley before school starts. Gringotts gave me some money that we can use to buy you things for school,” Bill said to Adam.

Upon hearing this, Ron immediately looked up, casting an envious glance at him.

Because almost everything he needed for school had been used by his brothers, such as Bill's old robe, Charlie's old wand, George and Fred's old textbooks, and even the cauldron was discarded by Percy. Well, there was also his pet, a mouse that Percy had kept and had been left at home to feed since last year.

Why can't I have something new? Thinking of this, Ron's little face turned bitter again.

George and Fred looked at their brother's expression, exchanged a glance, and tried hard not to laugh. Then, they casually told Bill that they also wanted to go to Diagon Alley together, whether they would buy anything or not, just to relax.

“Ron, come along too. Let’s see if there are any new flying brooms, wands, or pretty robes,” the twin who called himself George said to his younger brother.

"No, you guys go ahead and explore. I'll wait for you at the Leaky Cauldron," Ron said, pursing his lips.

……

Over the next few days, Adam stayed at the Weasleys' house and was well taken care of. Molly Weasley, the lady of the house, treated him with even more affection than her own son.

Ron, the biological son, wasn't particularly envious. After all, even without Adam, his mother never gave him a kind look and would scold him at the drop of a hat.

Well, he's gotten used to this kind of maternal love.

Then, he sometimes felt that Adam was strange. For example, once he heard the little boy talking to Scabbers the mouse.

"...Why are you in this house looking like this? Are you hiding from something?" These were Adam's words.

Ron thought that Adam must have been disgusted by Scabbers' somewhat disheveled appearance, because the mouse was old enough to be losing its fur, was missing a toe, and looked listless and sleepy all day long.

However, after that day, Scabbers would avoid Adam whenever he saw him, and no amount of Ron’s attempts to appease him worked.
