Harry Potter: This senior is pretty strong

Chapter 27 Professor McGonagall, I've Just Discovered a Talent

“Professor Dumbledore, isn’t the school’s discipline a bit worrying? There are even cases of open brawling in class,” Lucius said quietly.

Mr. Malfoy always enjoyed doing things like putting Dumbledore in his eyes.

“Playing is a child’s nature. Lucius, I remember you were quite mischievous back in school, and Professor McGonagall deducted quite a few points from your house for that.” Dumbledore smiled at Lucius Malfoy.

"...That's all in the past. I understand now that as a student, it's better to follow the rules," Lucius said, forcing a serious expression.

Unfortunately, Lucius had a lot of "dirt" from his school days that Dumbledore knew about, given that Lucius was an old man who had lived for over a hundred years.

There was clearly no need to delve deeper into this topic, so Lucius continued, "This first-year Gryffindor student seems to have a knack for flying. What's his name?"

He was just asking casually, pretending to care, in order to change the subject.

"His name should be Qin Yu. I just found out he's quite good at flying," Dumbledore said casually.

Then he led Lucius Malfoy to his office.

Clearly, Dumbledore didn't want to talk much about Qin Yu.

……

As Qin Yu watched Dumbledore and Lucius Malfoy walk past in the corridor not far away, he couldn't help but feel a little puzzled.

Yes, he knew that Malfoy was a real Death Eater, a major villain. He had escaped being imprisoned in Azkaban by lying that he was controlled by the Imperius Curse and by leveraging his family's power. In the future, the Malfoy family would immediately rejoin the Death Eaters when Lord Voldemort returned.

However, Qin Yu was powerless against Lucius Malfoy at this moment.

Didn't Dumbledore know about Malfoy's duplicity? Even this universally acknowledged great wizard didn't touch the kid, there must have been many reasons and concerns.

Since he couldn't deal with him for the time being, Qin Yu stopped thinking about it. The most important thing now was to improve his own strength so that he could protect himself and even fight when the Great Lord returned.

In the following flight lessons, Qin Yu diligently practiced the maneuvers taught by Madam Huo Qi and did not cause any further trouble.

"Besides, I'm not one to start trouble. I just couldn't help but teach that Jerome kid a lesson." Qin Yu muttered to himself.

However, he felt that he seemed to be in a bad mood today. Normally, he would not beat Jerome for five minutes, at most one minute. So why did it last so long this time?

Thinking of this, Qin Yu subconsciously glanced at Jerome.

When the red-haired boy saw Qin Yu's gaze, he immediately shuddered, barely managing not to fall off the flying broom. He then quickly twisted the broom handle and flew to the side, keeping a safe distance from Qin Yu.

……

"Professor McGonagall, I've just discovered a talent!" Charlie Weasley caught up with Professor McGonagall in the corridor and said excitedly.

Professor McGonagall had just come out of her office and was heading in a certain direction.

"Oh? What kind of talent?" Professor McGonagall stopped and asked in surprise.

Professor McGonagall really liked Charlie, mainly because she was a big Quidditch fan and Charlie was the captain and Seeker of the Gryffindor Quidditch team that year, and he was quite good at it.

Unfortunately, Charlie will be graduating next summer, and Professor McGonagall is worried about the transition of the Quidditch team after these graduates leave.

Vice-captain Oliver Wood is a reliable man, but he is responsible for the goalkeeper duties. The Quidditch team still lacks a Seeker as good as Charlie and a batter who dares to fight.

"I've found a talent who's perfect as a batter!" Charlie exclaimed excitedly.

Sure enough, his purpose in coming to see me was related to Quidditch. Professor McGonagall thought to herself.

“Really? Then, who is this person, Charlie?” Professor McGonagall asked.

“Qin! Qin from the first year!” Charlie said, revealing the name of this talented student.

"Huh?" Professor McGonagall was taken aback.

Charlie, thinking she didn't know Qin Yu, continued, "You have no idea how talented Qin is in Quidditch. Just now in class, I saw him riding a flying broomstick chasing after some Slytherin kid in the sky, hitting him while flying and swinging a wooden stick for precise strikes (Charlie thought it was a wooden stick). Isn't he a natural hitter?"

(Note: A Quidditch team has seven players, divided into the goalie, chaser, batter, and seeker. The batter is responsible for using his bat to knock the runaway ball away to protect his teammates, and for hitting the runaway ball towards the opposing players to interfere with their scoring. In short, it is a very violent role.)

Hearing Charlie's words, Professor McGonagall felt a headache coming on. She thought to herself, "How could I not know this child? I know even more than you do."

“Charlie, I must remind you that his horseplay with his classmates during flight class was unacceptable and has already resulted in a penalty point,” Professor McGonagall said sternly.

"So, you also saw Qin's performance?" Charlie said happily.

"Is this the important point?" Professor McGonagall was sweating profusely.

"Ahem, that's right, that's right. It's wrong not to follow classroom rules!" Charlie quickly said in a serious tone.

He immediately put on a smile and asked Professor McGonagall with anticipation, "Then do you agree to him joining the Gryffindor Quidditch team?"

“Charlie, I must tell you, while Qin has some talent, he may not be a good choice,” Professor McGonagall said meaningfully.

“Why? You said before that a hitter needs three parts talent and seven parts courage, and I see both of those qualities in Qin! To be honest, I originally wanted to let George and Fred try out for the hitter selection. You know they both have some drive, but after seeing Qin’s performance, I realized that those two kids can only be substitutes.” Charlie spoke candidly about his two younger brothers.

"...There are some things I can't explain to you in detail, but if you insist, I'll consider having Qin join the Quidditch team," Professor McGonagall said after a moment's thought.

Professor McGonagall was certainly concerned about Qin Yu's Obscurus power, but she also didn't want to hinder the child's normal life because of this. It was a very difficult choice.

"Great!" Charlie clapped his fist in delight.

“I just said I’d think about it, I haven’t made a final decision yet. This matter isn’t as simple as you think…” Professor McGonagall poured cold water on him first, then continued, “Alright, I know what happened. I’m busy now. Your Headmaster Dumbledore has encountered a very difficult person, and I have to go see if I can help him in any way.”

"Then you can go ahead and get back to work. Goodbye, Professor McGonagall!" Charlie waved goodbye to her.

Goodbye, Charlie!

After saying this to Charlie, Professor McGonagall hurried to the principal's office.
