Harry Potter: This senior is pretty strong
Chapter 15 Thank goodness, Qin's letter has finally arrived.
"Hermione, how was your day?" Mr. Granger asked his daughter during dinner.
"That's fine then." Hermione forked a piece of carrot with little enthusiasm and put it in her mouth, chewing listlessly.
Seeing her like this, Mrs. Granger couldn't help but glare at her husband, blaming him for bringing up such a sensitive topic.
Mr. Granger sighed softly, thinking to himself, "There's nothing I can do about it."
And so, the Granger family's dinner fell into a somber atmosphere.
The Grangers knew the reason, of course. Ever since their little boy from the East went to a magic school somewhere, their youngest daughter had gradually lost her smile and spent all her time staring at the mailbox, waiting for the letter to be sent to her.
“Hermione, Qin has just started school and must be very busy. Besides, it takes time to send a letter. You’ll receive it in a few days,” Mrs. Granger couldn’t help but comfort her daughter.
"Who's waiting for his letter? I'm not!" Hermione poked at the broccoli on the plate angrily, as if she were poking at someone.
“No, no! We won’t wait for his letter, we’ll forget about him!” Mrs. Granger said with a smile.
“Yes, I’ve already forgotten about him! I don’t miss him at all! Humph, that man who doesn’t keep his word!” Hermione said fiercely.
Just as the Grangers were starting to chuckle at their daughter's insincere behavior, a knocking sound came from their door.
Judging from the sound, it was probably not a human knocking on the door.
"I'll go check!" Hermione exclaimed as she got up to open the door after hearing the knocking.
As soon as she opened the door, a large white bird flew in from outside.
"It's an owl! It's an owl!" Hermione exclaimed excitedly upon seeing the large bird.
Qin Yu had mentioned before leaving that he would have an owl deliver a message to her, so when Hermione saw a beautiful white owl fly in, she immediately thought of Qin Yu.
Sure enough, after circling above her head once, the owl accurately dropped a letter into her hand.
"Dad, Mom, it's a letter from Qin!" Hermione exclaimed excitedly after reading the words on the envelope.
The Grangers exchanged a glance and thought to themselves, "Who was it that said just a minute ago that they weren't waiting for someone's letter?"
Of course, they wouldn't say that out loud. After all, their daughter had been angry for several days, and she had finally cheered up. They didn't want to upset her again.
"Hermione, let's eat first. We can see what Qin wrote after we finish eating," Mrs. Granger said to her daughter.
"Ah."
Hermione carefully placed the letter aside, then quickly devoured the pile of food on her plate, even the vegetables she didn't usually like.
After finishing her meal, the little girl quickly wiped her mouth, waved to her parents, picked up the envelope, and went to her room.
However, not long after, she came running out of the room again.
"What's wrong?" Mr. Granger asked curiously.
"Qin told me to give Trig some food, toast or ham would be fine." Hermione said, then found a plate, filled it with some food, and hurriedly carried the plate back to her room.
Looking at the closed bedroom, Mrs. Granger couldn't help but exclaim, "Thank God, Qin's letter has finally arrived!"
“Yes, yes, if they hadn’t come soon, I wouldn’t have dared to speak loudly at home,” Mr. Granger said, somewhat exaggeratedly.
This drew a burst of laughter from Mrs. Granger.
"By the way, who is Trigg?" Mrs. Granger asked curiously.
“I think it must be the white owl,” Mr. Granger guessed.
……
"Trigger, eat up!" Hermione placed the food on the windowsill.
The white owl indeed ate with relish.
Actually, Hermione hadn't opened the letter yet, but she saw Qin Yu's reminder somewhere on the envelope: Hermione, my owl is named Trigg. He's very gentle. If you give him some toast or ham, he'll be even more affectionate towards you.
Hermione saw this sentence and then happily went to get the food.
Seeing that Trigg was enjoying his meal, Hermione was naturally happy too.
Then, she finally sat down and nervously tore off the sealing wax and opened the envelope.
Then, she took out two folded sheets of paper and a hair clip with a cat design from the envelope.
"That's more like it. At least you gave me a gift." Hermione gave a haughty snort, but her heart was already filled with joy.
She happily put the hair clip on her head and carefully unfolded the two pages of the letter to read them.
The letter wasn't long, nor did it contain much, but Hermione read it with great interest.
After reading it many times, the owl Trigger jumped onto her desk, interrupting her reading.
Looking into the owl's two round eyes, Hermione immediately understood what it meant.
“Sorry, Trigger, I’ll write back now, just wait a moment!” Hermione said apologetically to the owl.
"Coo coo~" Trig chirped twice, as if forgiving her, and then flew back to the windowsill, where it squatted quietly and waited.
Hermione smiled at the obedient owl, then quickly pulled out a blank sheet of paper, found a pen, and prepared to write a reply to Qin Yu.
Just as she wrote the words "Dear Qin," she suddenly remembered what Qin Yu had mentioned in his letter, so she reached out and touched the hair clip on her head, tapping her fingers twice on the cat's eye area.
Immediately, a soft white light shone down from above her head.
What a magical and useful item!
Hermione's lips unconsciously curled into a smile, and then, using the light from the hair clip, she wrote down what she wanted to say on the letter paper—so many things.
……
“My dear, it’s getting late, time for bed,” Mrs. Granger said to her daughter, knocking on the door.
Hermione looked at the few pages of letter that had been written and quickly said, "Okay, Mom! I'll go to sleep now."
After saying this, she quickly checked what she had written again, and after finding no problems, she folded the letter and put it into an envelope.
Then, she added some flowers, plants, and leaves that she had collected over the past few days.
“Trigger, thank you for your hard work!” Hermione handed the envelope to the owl.
After hooting twice, the owl Trigger caught the envelope in its beak, nodded goodbye to Hermione, flapped its wings twice, and flew away through the open window.
Hermione stared blankly at the direction the owl had gone for a while, as if envying the bird that could cross mountains and rivers and go wherever it wanted.
"Haven't you turned off the light yet, darling?" Mrs. Granger's voice rang out again.
“It’s off now, Mom!” Hermione said as she turned off the light in the room.
Then, she climbed into her little bed.
However, she quickly turned over and picked up the letter she had just received. With her other hand, she touched the hair clip on her head and tapped it lightly twice, illuminating the room with a soft white light.
After dimming the light, Hermione read the letter again. As the words flowed, she felt as if she were experiencing life at the magic school alongside the boy…
