The Parisian sunlight filtered through the sheer curtains, casting dappled shadows on the floor. Little Chengze sat on the living room carpet, his chubby little hands patting the colorful building blocks in front of him, making cheerful babbling sounds.

Gu Tingyu sat beside him, his eyes gentle, patiently playing with the child, occasionally catching the little guy's blocks and gently putting them back into his little hands.

This scene has become the most anticipated sight for Su Maiqi every day after she gets home from get off work.

Ever since Gu Tingyu and Xiao Chengze arrived in Paris, she felt as if she had been infused with a wonderful energy.

She is clear-headed and incredibly efficient at work during the day; when she returns home at night, being able to hug her children and husband brings her immense satisfaction and peace of mind.

"Mommy!" Upon hearing the door open, Xiao Chengze immediately raised his head, his eyes sparkling, waving his little hands, and eagerly crawled towards the door.

Gu Tingyu smiled and stood up, following behind his son to make sure he wouldn't stumble or fall in his excitement.

“Slow down, little one, Mommy won’t run away.” His voice was deep and gentle.

Su Maiqi put down her briefcase, bent down and picked up Xiao Chengze, who had crawled to her feet, and kissed his fragrant little face repeatedly.

The little one giggled and patted his mother's cheeks with his tiny hands, as if expressing his longing for her all day.

"How was your day?" Su Maiqi asked Gu Tingyu while playing with the child.

Gu Tingyu took her coat and hung it up, his eyes full of smiles: "Very good. We went to Luxembourg Gardens this morning."

I let the little one play at home for a while this afternoon. He really loves crawling now; he even tried to stand up a few times today while holding onto the sofa.

Su Maiqi looked at Xiao Chengze in surprise: "Really? Our little star is so amazing!"

"Dinner is ready. You play with him for a while, and I'll go bring the dishes out." Gu Tingyu gently squeezed her shoulder, then turned and walked towards the kitchen.

A delicious aroma wafted from the kitchen. Su Maiqi took a deep breath; it was the smell of braised beef brisket with tomatoes, one of her favorite dishes.

She couldn't help but marvel that Gu Tingyu was not only a great CEO, but also a capable homemaker, excelling at everything from taking care of the children to cooking.

"Do you need my help?" she asked, standing at the kitchen doorway with Xiao Chengze in her arms.

Gu Tingyu skillfully arranged the food on the plate, replying without looking up, "No need, everything's ready. Take a look at Xiao Chengze's 'work' today."

He pointed to a piece of paper stuck on the refrigerator—it had Xiao Chengze's handprint on it, painted in various colors with non-toxic paint on the white paper, and next to it was Gu Tingyu's neat handwriting: Chengze's first masterpiece, nine months and fifteen days.

Su Maiqi felt a warmth in her heart. This usually serious man was now recording every little progress her child made as if it were a precious treasure.

At dinner time, the three of them sat at the table. Su Maiqi put a bib on Xiao Chengze and carefully fed him soft vegetable puree and fish.

Gu Tingyu then told her about the fun things that happened while taking care of the children that day.

"Today I met a French father in the park. His daughter is a few months older than Chengze and can already walk. He taught me a few games to help train a child's balance."

Gu Tingyu said, his eyes gleaming with excitement, "I think it's very useful. I can try it with Chengze tomorrow."

"You really enjoy this kind of life, don't you?" Su Maiqi couldn't help but ask. She had never seen Gu Tingyu so relaxed and so enthusiastic.

Gu Tingyu nodded, his gaze falling tenderly on his son: "It's much more enjoyable than I imagined. There are no meetings, no phone calls, no social engagements here, only Chengze and me."

Watching him learn new things every day, hearing him call me "Dad," brings a sense of satisfaction that no commercial success can match.

Su Maiqi once suggested hiring a nanny to help take care of the children and housework, but Gu Tingyu only agreed to have the nanny come once a day to clean, insisting that he would cook and take care of the children himself.

He seemed to enjoy this lifestyle, saying that he felt more comfortable in Paris than in China.

In China, a man going out alone with a child often attracts a lot of curious stares, but here, such a scene is perfectly normal.

“In Paris, there are far more men who primarily care for children than in China,” Gu Tingyu told her one day. “People here don’t look at me strangely; instead, they smile and approve.”

He even made friends with several other fathers in the neighborhood who also had children, including Frenchmen and foreigners from other countries.

Every weekend, they would get together and take their children to play in the nearby park.

One time, Su Maiqi left work early and went to the park to find them.

From afar, she saw that heartwarming scene—several children crawling or toddling on the safe grass, while several fathers sat around them, some playing guitar, others singing softly.

During breaks and rest periods, Su Maiqi would call Gu Tingyu. On the other end of the line, she would often hear the sounds of children playing in the park, the explanations being given in the museum, or the songs of street performers.

"Where did you take Chengze today?" she would ask.

“The sculpture section of the Louvre,” Gu Tingyu said with a hint of pleasure, “He especially liked the marble sculptures, pointing at them constantly.”

Or: "We took a walk along the Seine and met an old man playing the accordion. Chengze was so engrossed in listening that we stayed there for half an hour."

Each such conversation gave Su Maiqi a strange sense of contrast—this business tycoon who once held sway in China was now holding his child's hand and quietly listening to a street performer's performance on the streets of Paris.

What surprised her even more was that Gu Tingyu did not appear tired or bored because of this kind of life; on the contrary, he exuded an unprecedented vitality.

His eyes were brighter, his smile was more relaxed and natural, and even his posture was more relaxed than before.

Every morning, he is always the first to get up, preparing breakfast with great enthusiasm, and then planning his day's itinerary.

That night, after Xiao Chengze fell asleep, the two sat on the balcony, enjoying the Parisian night breeze and the lights of the Eiffel Tower in the distance.

“I’ve been wanting to ask you this,” Su Maiqi looked at the man beside her, her eyes full of curiosity, “don’t you really find taking care of the child every day tiring or boring?”

Gu Tingyu was silent for a moment, his gaze fixed on the twinkling city lights in the distance: "Perhaps it's because this is the responsibility and pleasure I chose. My body may be tired, but my mind is at its most relaxed."

At the company, I'm always surrounded by various pressures and responsibilities, but here, accompanying Chengze's growth, I've found a pure joy.

He turned to look at Su Maiqi, his eyes softening: "Besides, knowing I'll see you come home tonight, the thought of the three of us living together makes me feel very secure."

Su Maiqi leaned on his shoulder, looking at the lights in the distance, and felt an unprecedented sense of peace and happiness welling up in her heart.

She found it amazing that Gu Tingyu, the CEO, was taking care of the child every day, yet his mental state was getting better and better.
