Suddenly, it was as if a lightning bolt had struck Xiao Nanzhi's mind, and fragmented memories flashed through her mind without warning.

A man's face flickered in her mind; in the past, no matter how hard she tried, that face was always shrouded in mist, blurry and indistinct.

But this time, the outline seemed to show clearer signs.

Xiao Nanzhi wanted to see the face more clearly, but just as she concentrated and tried to see it more clearly, a piercing pain struck her head.

"Ah!" she couldn't help but cry out in pain, instinctively clutching her head with both hands, her body trembling uncontrollably.

"Nanzhi!" Bai Shu rushed forward and steadily supported Xiao Nanzhi.

She nestled softly in Bai Shu's arms, her breath weak as she asked, "Why, why do you seem so familiar? Who are you?"

"And what's the deal with this little wooden puppet?"

Her eyes were full of pleading; she desperately wanted to know the truth.

Bai Shu looked at Xiao Nanzhi in front of him, his lips slightly moving, as if he wanted to say something but stopped himself.

His gaze towards Xiao Nanzhi was so tender it seemed to melt water: "You've remembered some things, haven't you?"

A hint of confusion flashed across Xiao Nanzhi's eyes; she seemed to remember, yet she also seemed not to.

She just felt that Bai Zhu was different to her than to others.

He risked his life to save himself and stayed by her side when she needed him.

He was by no means an ordinary bodyguard.

Bai Shu smiled as she met her expectant gaze: "Nan Zhi, I'm Bai Shu..."

"It's your brother Bai Shu. Didn't you always pester me before? Have you forgotten?"

"Brother Baishu?" Xiao Nanzhi's eyes widened slightly. "That name sounds so familiar. Have I really forgotten something?"

Bai Shu handed the two small wooden puppets to her, tears glistening in his eyes: "These two small wooden puppets, one is you, and the other is me. I carved them myself."

Xiao Nanzhi's eyes were bloodshot. She tried hard to think, but her mind was blank.

Suddenly, a picture appeared in her mind.

She sat angrily in front of the dressing table, reaching out to sweep the things off the table.

Pointing at the little wooden puppet on the table, she said angrily, "I hate Brother Baishu, why don't you just ignore me, hmph."

The next scene showed Bai Shu, dressed in black, appearing in front of her.

Xiao Nanzhi felt her heart leap into her throat and then plummet back down. In disbelief, she raised her hand to cover her chest.

It turns out that she and Bai Shu really did know each other!

Her eyes widened, filled with shock and realization, and with a hint of disbelief, she asked in a trembling voice, "Brother Bai Shu, you...you are really Brother Bai Shu?"

Bai Shu's eyes instantly reddened, tears welling up. The excitement and joy of their long-awaited reunion made his voice tremble: "Nan Zhi, you finally remember? You finally remembered me, didn't you?"

He couldn't wait to pull Xiao Nanzhi into his arms tightly, as if he wanted to embed her into his body, into his very bones, and never be separated from her again.

His voice trembled slightly with excitement as he repeated, "I knew it, you wouldn't forget me, I knew it..."

Bai Zhu was overjoyed and couldn't contain his excitement.

He had waited for this moment for far too long, thinking he would never hear Xiao Nanzhi affectionately call him "Brother Baishu" again in his life.

Unexpectedly, she remembered it again.

Xiao Nanzhi blinked, still feeling somewhat confused.

But for some reason, leaning against Bai Shu's chest, she felt a sense of security she had never felt before.

She slowly reached out and hugged Bai Shu back, tears streaming uncontrollably down her face: "You are my brother Bai Shu, it really is you..."

Hearing this, Bai Shu hugged her even tighter.

Xiao Nanzhi looked up in his arms, her eyes filled with confusion and grievance, and asked softly, "But where have you been? Why haven't you come to see me for so long?"

"It's my fault, it's my fault..." Bai Shu was overjoyed and didn't know how to answer for a moment. All her words turned into this repeated self-blame.

All the suffering and grievances she had endured in the past were washed away by Xiao Nanzhi's tears.

Inside the cabin, Bai Shu's deep voice rang out.

He told Xiao Nanzhi about his past, how he led a small team to kill the enemy general.

He recounted how he and his brothers narrowly escaped death several times, facing numerous perilous situations.

He said that he was on the verge of death, and all he could think about was Xiao Nanzhi; he had to survive no matter what.

As Xiao Nanzhi listened, tears streamed down her face.

It turns out that Bai Shu was such a brave man, and her blank memories were so rich and colorful.

The only regret is that she still hasn't remembered; most of her memories are still missing.

The two of them huddled in the cramped cabin, listening to the stories of the past, and they all laughed happily.

Time passed by unnoticed, and the cabin was no longer so dark, but brightened up.

Xiao Nanzhi then realized that the two of them had spent the night in the cabin.

Suddenly, the hatch was pushed open forcefully.

Several guards walked in menacingly. One of them, who seemed to be the leader, looked at Xiao Nanzhi with a cold gaze and his eyes were full of evil: "Princess of Nanyue, you are indeed quite beautiful."

Bai Shu shielded Xiao Nanzhi behind him and looked coldly at the man: "What do you want to do? The King of Dongling Kingdom never said you could hurt us."

"The king is kind-hearted and can't bear to see the little beauty suffer, but we brothers are not the kind to show mercy to women. Nan Yue killed so many of us, so she has to pay some interest."

As he spoke, the man tilted his head and said, "Pull her out."

Bai Shu shouted sternly, "Let's see who dares!"

The guards never expected that Bai Shu would still be thinking of protecting his master at this critical moment.

His eyes were full of disdain: "You can't even protect yourself, yet you're still thinking about protecting your master, you..."

Before he could finish speaking, one of them was sent flying.

The man crashed heavily into the cabin and fell to the ground.

Bai Shu made a sudden move, catching the opponent off guard.

After everyone realized what was happening, they rushed towards Bai Shu with fierce expressions, shouting, "Kill him! Kill him!"

Bai Shu stood still, only hurriedly reminding Xiao Nanzhi behind him, "Hide well."

His figure had already dashed out like a ghost.

He was so fast that there was no time to catch him; all that could be heard was the sound of people falling to the ground.

By the time Xiao Nanzhi came to her senses, the guards were already rolling around in a heap.

Bai Shu reached out his hand to Xiao Nanzhi and said urgently, "Come with me."

Xiao Nanzhi placed her hand in his palm, which he held tightly. The two smiled at each other and ran off the ship.

Those outside the boat heard the commotion and rushed over to stop him, but Bai Shu knocked them all to the ground.

Just as Bai Shu was about to help Xiao Nanzhi escape from the ship, a large net descended from the sky, trapping both of them underneath.
