Rescuing the Villainous Boss with a Little Dirty Master
Chapter 54 Saving the Villainous Proton 54
Most of the people who entered the inner circle were cautious and did not go too deep. After searching the outer circle, they found nothing, but they did not think much of it, assuming that the place was too shallow and there were too many people, which would disturb their prey.
The group had no choice but to walk deeper into the area. Gradually, the people who had been quite close at first separated, and apart from their companions, they could not see anyone else.
Quiet, too quiet.
The sudden tiger's roar startled them, and they whipped their horses and galloped toward the source of the sound. When they saw the hoofprints ahead, they assumed someone had gotten there first and spurred their horses even faster.
Similar scenes have been playing out in different places.
The sound grew clearer, and the group rushing towards them, including their guards, numbered twelve. They exchanged glances, all seeing in each other's eyes a determination to succeed.
"Whoever kills first gets to keep their word."
To their surprise, when they arrived at the location, they discovered there was more than one.
At this moment, five burly tigers were pacing back and forth anxiously, occasionally lowering their heads to sniff the ground. Their tongues would lightly lick up a patch of ground, and when they found that it was not as delicious as they had imagined, they became even more agitated.
Upon hearing the sound of hooves, their ears twitched, they raised their heads, and their eyes, bloodshot, turned toward the source of the sound. Before they could react, they pounced forward.
A flurry of arrows shot out, but none hit their mark for a moment. It was because the scene had initially overwhelmed these men, causing them to lose their composure and become disoriented in their fear.
Adding to the fact that the horse beneath him was restless and agitated, it could only scatter and flee, leaving only the guards behind to turn back and nock arrows to attack.
But how could they let their hard-won prey escape so easily? Two white tigers lowered their bodies, leaped a few times, and pounced in front of them, blocking their path and encircling them again.
An arrow grazed the arm of the person on the horse and struck one of its forelegs. Unexpectedly, the tiger did not retreat but pounced forward and bit the horse's neck hard. The horse shook its neck and kicked, trying to get rid of the pain, but unexpectedly threw the person off the horse.
Lin Shi'an collapsed to the ground, his legs trembling as he moved backward. The guards, while attacking the tiger, shouted at him, "Young master! Quickly retreat to this side!"
Lin Shi'an couldn't hear him at all. His ears were ringing from the roar. He stared wide-eyed in horror as the tiger that had killed his horse was about to pounce on him.
"Help, help me, please help me!"
Enraged, one of the guards had no choice but to dismount and rush forward to pull the man up, while the other two provided cover.
However, Lin Shi'an's legs were so weak that the guards managed to grab him, but were then knocked to the ground by the heavy force behind them, along with Lin Shi'an.
A stench of blood filled his nostrils, and Lin Shi'an's face turned deathly pale, his trembling widening. The painful scream behind him rang out only once before abruptly ceasing; the guard on his back had his neck bitten off. The gushing blood stained his face red, highlighting the terror in his eyes.
The dense barrage of arrows from his side disrupted the tiger's feeding. It roared in frustration, and Lin Shi'an was stunned by the extremely close sound, his eyes rolled back, and he fainted.
When he woke up again, the weight on his body was gone. He opened his eyes abruptly and was so horrified by the bloody scene before him that he almost fainted again.
The ground was littered with mutilated corpses. Some of the tigers were riddled with arrows, yet they seemed addicted, unable to resist the temptation, and began to eat voraciously. Not far behind him, there was the sound of chewing. It turned out that one of the tigers had dragged and bitten the guard who was pressing down on him to the side.
He was now completely paralyzed, his eyes closed, afraid to look at his surroundings. Tears and snot streamed down his face, but he dared not utter a sound. Too terrified to notice, he failed to see that most of the dead were riddled with arrows.
"Do you think he wet his pants?"
Hidden in the tree, Liang Yi made a gesture to the people in the opposite tree. The people on the other side couldn't help but smile and nodded seriously.
The arrows on the dead were shot by them in the chaos. How could they let any of the carefully laid traps escape?
The surrounding sounds stopped, and Lin Shi'an thought that the tigers had eaten their fill and left. He slowly opened his eyes and was met with a gaping maw.
It hadn't left; it was deliberately teasing its prey. The chewing sound resumed, and then, no one else survived.
Meanwhile, on Dong Tinglan's side, three people were surrounding a deer, not hunting it, but just casually firing a few arrows to stop it, seemingly unable to aim accurately. At this moment, Dong Tinglan's arrow finally hit a hind leg, and the deer's movement faltered. Just as he was about to take the opportunity to fire another arrow, three arrows shot out from the opposite side, heading straight for vital points.
Dong Tinglan looked up and saw Xiao Yiming and his group coming this way. They had a good haul, with several prey hanging from the sides of their guards' horses.
"Oh, sorry, I beat you to it. You can only blame your poor aim."
Dong Tinglan stared at him intently, then suddenly drew back her bow and fired an arrow at Xiao Yiming's direction with incredible speed. Xiao Yiming's pupils widened, and he tumbled off his horse in a sorry state, narrowly avoiding the arrow.
"what are you doing!"
This sudden scene startled everyone; Xiao Yiming's guards had already drawn their bows and aimed them at Dong Tinglan.
Suddenly, a cry of pain came from the crowd. Turning his head, he saw Lin Shixiang, who had been next to Xiao Yiming, clutching his neck and falling off his horse.
Beside him, a spotted snake raised its head, ready to leap up and strike again. But it was pierced by an arrow that came flying through the air and fell to the ground.
"Sorry, my aim is terrible, I missed with the first arrow."
Dong Tinglan calmly uttered a sentence, and Jiang Heng happily stepped forward, grabbed the snake, swung it around, and looked smug, not caring whether she had drawn the snake from Xiao Yiming who was standing to the side.
"Son!"
Lin Shixiang didn't even have time to take the antidote before he foamed at the mouth, convulsed, and died. The guards stood by, their faces ashen. It was over; if their young master was in trouble, they wouldn't survive either. They couldn't hold Dong Tinglan accountable for a single question, since everyone had witnessed his poor aim before the event even started.
Moreover, strictly speaking, he had just saved Lin Shixiang's life, but he didn't expect the snake venom to take effect so quickly.
The three of them could only grieve as if they had lost their parents, and carried Lin Shixiang onto the horse's back, heading towards the exit.
Dong Tinglan and his group didn't linger and continued searching for prey. However, Xiao Yiming's group seemed to be determined to get their hands on something. Every time Dong Tinglan finally managed to shoot a prey, they would immediately aim for its vital points, and naturally, the prey would become theirs as well.
"You've gone too far! Why are you always robbing us!"
After being thwarted once again, Jiang Heng turned around and glared angrily at the group, her eyes turning red with rage.
"A competition is all about skill; it's your master's fault for being less skilled."
Jiang Heng took two steps forward to continue arguing, but was stopped by Dong Tinglan.
"return."
Jiang Heng rolled her eyes at them resentfully and retreated to Dong Tinglan's side.
"Change direction and shake them off."
After saying that, the three of them spurred their horses to increase their speed. Just as they were about to leave the other person behind, Xiao Yiming smiled maliciously, waved to the people around him, and spurred his horse to catch up.
"Young Master Jiang, you're such a good actor. You don't always use this trick to deal with Dong Tinglan, do you?"
Mo Wu glanced behind him and, sure enough, they had all followed.
"Don't talk nonsense."
Jiang Heng rolled her eyes at him. He'd only acted that once or twice; did he even know what romance was?
Dong Tinglan made a gesture to the two of them, and they stopped arguing and followed Dong Tinglan as they disappeared into the woods through a maze of turns.
