The paper effigy turned its head to look in the direction of the back mountain, then turned back, gave Jiang Heng a creepy smile, nodded, and began to sway and descend.

Jiang Heng curiously peeked out, wanting to see how it got up there, but was stunned by what she saw.

Good heavens! Looking down from his window, there was a row of paper effigies stacked like Arhats, some even flattened. No wonder I kept hearing rustling sounds; they probably couldn't stand up straight.

Jiang Heng watched helplessly as the paper effigy that had climbed up his window descended along the rows of paper figures, and the remaining paper effigies followed suit one by one.

As soon as all the paper figures landed, the paper figure with weeds stuck in it looked up and waved at him, and the other paper figures followed suit.

Jiang Heng leaned against the window and waved her hands like the paper figures, and only then did the paper figures leave satisfied.

Suddenly, a dark shadow appeared below the window. Qin Yun rubbed her eyes, thinking she was seeing things. When she opened her eyes again, she saw that the shadow reflected on the window was getting bigger and bigger until it covered the entire window.

She took a deep breath, slowly got out of bed, avoided the view through the window, and squatted down close to the wall.

Qin Yun looked up at the dark shadow and saw it moving forward until it was completely away from the window. She pressed herself against the window and looked out through the gaps in the window lattice. She saw a creature with antlers, brown fur, and about two stories tall walking on its hind legs on the walkway outside.

From her perspective, she couldn't see what it looked like, but she could still feel an immense sense of oppression. It was simply enormous. Strangely, it made no sound as it stepped on the ground.

Just as Qin Yun was about to open the window wider, the thing suddenly turned its head to look in her direction. Qin Yun wasn't sure if she and the thing had made eye contact when it suddenly lunged at her. Her pupils constricted, she shouted Wang Wei's name, and immediately ran towards the door.

The window was smashed open by a giant hand, the shattering sound almost deafening.

Wolf?!

As the enormous head peered in, Qin Yun finally saw its face clearly. She placed her right hand on the doorknob, trying to open the door, but no matter how hard she pressed the handle, the door wouldn't open, as if something was pressing down on it from behind.

All the noise couldn't wake Wang Wei, who was lying in bed.

The creature's gaze was fixed on Qin Yun's direction. Qin Yun watched as it narrowed its eyes, and several sharp eyebrows branched out from its antlers, shooting straight towards her.

Qin Yun seemed frozen in place, her eyes wide as she stared blankly at the dense brows rushing towards her.

In the last second before she fainted, she seemed to hear a piercing wail.

Qin Yun regained consciousness amidst a swaying motion, her mind still reeling from the sharp object that had shot towards her. She abruptly opened her eyes, instinctively leaning back, only to find herself back in bed.

In my line of sight, Wang Wei and four other people were standing by the bed.

"Xiaoyun, how are you?"

Wang Wei helped Qin Yun up with a worried expression. When she woke up, she saw Qin Yun lying by the door, and she couldn't wake her up no matter what she did. She had no choice but to call the people next door.

After confirming that she was alright, they did not leave, but instead each found a corner in the room to wait.

Qin Yun's coma was anything but ordinary.
