Rescuing the Villainous Boss with a Little Dirty Master
Chapter 167 This villain is strange 07
Jiang Heng was still a little stunned, not expecting to be able to stay so easily, but Wei Shenglan didn't say anything more.
After thinking it over, Jiang Heng decided to go back to his room to rest for a while, since he knew tonight would be quite a long night. Although he really wanted to sleep there, he couldn't find an excuse and had to leave with regret.
Looking at the other person's face, which couldn't hide their emotions at all, Wei Shenglan wondered again: Did this person know him? Why was he so unguarded with him?
For lunch and dinner, Jiang Heng and Wei Shenglan both used the excuse of feeling unwell to have food delivered to their rooms.
In the restaurant on the first floor, Ang looked at the empty space on one side of the long table, then at Qi Nan and Tao Tao on the other side, a meaningful smile on his face.
"Then let's enjoy this delicious food ourselves."
Qi Nan glanced at the second floor and nodded in agreement.
As night fell, the clock struck 22:45 again, and the lights in the room went out instantly. Jiang Heng and Wei Shenglan sat relaxed at the foot of the bed.
The full-length mirror at the foot of the bed had been turned back. Now, the two people in the mirror were only a fist's distance apart, and Jiang Heng's exposed long legs were swinging back and forth.
Wei Shenglan kept glancing at the mirror out of the corner of his eye. He frowned and turned slightly to the side. The person sitting next to him, however, was completely unaware. He braced himself on the bed with one hand and leaned over as well, bringing the two of them a little closer.
"Brother, what's wrong with you?"
A soft breath sounded beside him, and warm breath sprayed on his neck. Wei Shenglan tilted his head uncomfortably.
Perhaps the quiet environment amplified his emotions, for he turned to look at Jiang Heng, his tone revealing nothing amiss, "You like calling me 'brother' so much?"
"Oh, I'm sorry, it's just a habit. I won't call you that if you don't like it."
Jiang Heng grinned innocently, withdrew her hand from the bed, sat up straight in her original position, and looked at the mirror as if she were carefully guarding against the unknown situation.
Wei Shenglan pursed his lips, unable to bring himself to say he liked it; that would be too abrupt. He turned his gaze back to the mirror.
Just then, the alarm clock rang. The two looked at each other and then simultaneously looked at the door.
Knowing that the alarm clock was faulty, who deliberately left it on?
In room 205, Tao Tao, holding a constantly ringing alarm clock, got up, walked to the door, opened it, slid the clock forcefully on the floor towards room 208, and then quietly closed the door.
The door to room 206 slammed open, and a hunched figure appeared in the doorway. Looking at the clock still ticking in the hallway, the figure tilted its head in confusion.
She walked to the clock, slowly squatted down, picked it up and fiddled with it a couple of times, and the clock stopped chiming.
In room 208, upon hearing the doorbell ring suddenly outside the door, Jiang Heng and Wei Shenglan both looked rather grim, but they remained seated.
Pei Siqi opened the window last night, which led to the incident, while the thing in the corridor did not force its way in.
What would happen if they stayed where they were?
Just then, the 'Wei Shenglan' in the mirror moved. Perhaps it had been upset last night, because the thing inside looked particularly gloomy tonight, and it moved closer to the outside of the mirror much faster.
Suddenly, Jiang Heng stood up and blocked Wei Shenglan's way. The thing in the mirror froze, unable to see Wei Shenglan, and couldn't get out at all.
While the thing was momentarily stunned, Jiang Heng grabbed the bed sheet and covered the mirror with it. Then she kicked it hard. The sound of the mirror shattering and the screams were muffled by the blanket. Although the sound wasn't loud, it was still caught by the people in the corridor.
A series of loud bangs sounded on the door, followed by a hoarse, aged woman's urgent voice: "Come out! Come out quickly!"
Jiang Heng and Wei Shenglan exchanged a glance. Wei Shenglan got up, walked to the door, and knocked lightly twice.
The shouting outside the door stopped abruptly.
Jiang Heng walked to the door through the broken glass and said in a low voice, "It seems like I chased the thing in the mirror away."
"As long as it's okay, it'll be okay."
The voice outside spoke these words, its tone tinged with undeniable relief. Just then, the eyes on the other four small wooden signs opened simultaneously, their gazes shifting, trying to focus on 208.
Those eyes curved slightly, filled with relief, except for the eyes in room 209, which, while relieved, also revealed a hint of resentment.
Jiang Heng decided to take a gamble.
He pulled Wei Shenglan aside and pushed him behind him, ensuring that he wouldn't get hurt in case of any accidents. 886 was also on high alert, ready to deal with any unexpected situations.
With a creak, the door to room 208 opened a crack. Jiang Heng met the hunched figure outside the room.
The woman was a short, elderly woman. This was the first time she had encountered a guest who would open the door for her, so her eyes were still somewhat dazed.
Jiang Heng made a "shh" gesture with her hands and whispered the code: "Count Leo?"
The old woman's eyes instantly reddened. She nodded quickly, and Jiang Heng hurriedly opened the door wider to let her in.
Inside the room, Wei Shenglan's expression was obscured by the darkness, his gaze fixed intently on Jiang Heng.
Knowing that he would die when his health points reached zero, why did he still stand in front of him?
"Grandma, are you Earl Leo's wife?"
Hearing Leo's name again, Granny Qin's eyes reddened once more. She spoke softly, "I am the Earl's maid; you can call me Granny Qin."
[Triggering Key Figure:]
The Earl's loyal servant, Granny Qin
Jiang Heng was overjoyed; Granny Qin must know about Leo.
And what the other person said next confirmed his suspicions. The evil hidden beneath the castle was about to be revealed.
From Granny Qin, we learn that the true owner of Buck Castle is named Leo. And Black Buck is his favorite flower. On Leo's 27th birthday, someone presented him with a mirror made at great expense, saying that at 11 p.m., when all the lights are turned off, he would see in the mirror what he most wanted to know.
Buck Castle also fell into a deep sleep that day, but not a true sleep. Instead, everyone in the castle was replaced by their reflection in the mirror and buried forever beneath the sea of flowers.
The people in this castle are now all incarnations of the Mirror Ghost, while Granny Qin and her four loyal servants escaped the calamity because they were out on business.
It was the black bark that Leo personally watered and planted that saved their lives, but they were also trapped in this ancient castle forever.
Black Buck, who was forced to absorb flesh and blood, fell into a permanent slumber, which could only be awakened by Leo's soul reviving in the dead of night.
