JOJO: Bizarre Adventure

Chapter 257 Cafeteria Rules, Dormitory Rules

"Although they're not enemies, this is still too..."

Qiao Zhou suppressed the urge to yell and curse as he ate his newly ordered meal.

In fact, the group had already discovered that the money in their bracelets was essentially unlimited.

The only thing to worry about is the time limit for meals.

Of course, besides these, there are also these inexplicable foods.

This bowl of rice caused Qiao Zhou considerable psychological trauma.

The following are the cafeteria rules:

"Run, Middle School Rules: Cafeteria Edition"

First, no student may stay in the cafeteria for more than fifteen minutes.

Second, the cafeteria is the only place in the school that provides food; no other areas provide food.

Third, no student may take food out of the cafeteria.

Fourth, there is no leftover food in the cafeteria. All leftover food will be handled by the cafeteria itself. Please do not look for information about leftover food.

Fifth, do not appear in the cafeteria outside of mealtimes.

Sixth, there is no supermarket on campus. If someone mentions a supermarket and invites you to go there, please report it to nearby faculty or staff immediately and do everything possible to ensure that the target does not escape.

7. There is no bakery on campus. If someone mentions a bakery and invites you to go, please refer to Article 6 for instructions.

8. Do not make loud noises or disturb others while they are eating.

9. Students whose individual quantitative score is below 32 should get their meals at a designated window.

10. Under normal circumstances, no student may communicate with cafeteria staff other than getting food. If a staff member initiates a conversation, please keep your distance immediately and report it to other nearby staff.

--------

The rules here feel much stranger than those in the classroom episode.

Most of the rules in the teaching building are regulations governing the students' behavior.

The cafeteria, however, is different; many hypothetical scenarios have emerged there.

For example, non-existent supermarkets and bakeries, or cafeteria staff who take the initiative to strike up a conversation.

"Time to go back to the dorm."

Stepping out of the cafeteria, all I could see was an endless thick fog, with only a path that should lead to the dormitory building visible.

"Really..."

Qiao Zhou stared longingly at the endless thick fog, not daring to cross the boundary.

"This group doesn't even have a long-range Stand. If they had a Stand like 'Red Hot Chili Pepper,' exploring would be much easier."

He was truly envious of Otoshi Akira, having a wheelchair-bound stand-in.

Of course, many people envied him.

This lousy "storyteller" is utterly useless.

It's stronger than most Stands, but its actual effectiveness is limited.

There is no doubt that dormitories also have their own rules.

But let's not talk about that yet; let's go look at the other side first.

--------

Katsuki Nakajima is different; let's rewind to when the six of them first entered the school.

At the school gatehouse.

"You're the new guy?"

A slightly overweight middle-aged man sat on the bed, sizing up Nakajima Katsuki in front of him.

Katsuki Nakajima was also a little confused. He had clearly entered Run Run Middle School, so why was he in this small room? Shouldn't he be in a school building or something?

"Ah, yes, I'm new here. Excuse me, is this Run Run Middle School?"

"Yeah, you look pretty energetic, what made you decide to become a security guard? With your physique, you'd be better than a security guard at this shabby school no matter what you do."

Upon hearing the other party's reply, Nakajima Katsuki finally understood his situation.

He didn't become a student at Running Man Middle School; instead, he became a security guard at the school.

This seems like a good thing, since security guards are much more convenient to act than students.

I just don't know which specific rules I, as a security guard, must follow.

The middle-aged man didn't pay much attention to Nakajima Katsuki's situation. After saying a few casual words, he pointed behind Nakajima Katsuki and said:

"That's where our work is done. Get familiar with it, and I'll find someone to show you around in a bit."

It was only then that Nakajima Katsuki noticed a sign behind him filled with rules.

"Run, Middle School - Security Personnel Code of Conduct"

--------

On the other side, the dormitory building for the first year of high school.

Looking at the rules on the notice board at the entrance of the dormitory building, Qiao Zhou felt a bit lost.

"Your mother..."

No wonder he's swearing; the first few lines of this stuff are utter nonsense.

The following are the dormitory rules:

"Run, Middle School Rules: Dormitory Edition"

First, our school is a full-time boarding high school and does not have a day student system. All students must enter the dormitory within the specified time after class.

Second, the dormitory is the only place of rest on campus, and sleeping is not allowed in any place other than the dormitory.

Third, boarding students must ensure the cleanliness of their dormitories, and there must be no trash in the trash cans.

Fourth, boarding students must keep their beds clean. All beds must be covered with white sheets. Students are not allowed to sit on their beds, and no items are allowed on the beds outside of sleep hours.

Fifth, the school has strict regulations on sleep time. Students must go to bed before their designated sleep time, lie flat, and wait for their sleep time.

Sixth, students must not leave their beds during sleep time.

7. No student may be in a dormitory room that is not their own.

8. Always ensure that there is no food in the dormitory. If you find any food in the dormitory, please report it to the dormitory administrator immediately and try to stay away from it.

9. Do not look out the window.

10. No student may be present in the dormitory area outside of class hours.

11. Even in the restroom, you must follow the rules.

--------

If the previous rules were considered relatively complex, then this thing is simply inhuman.

There can be no trash in the trash cans, no blankets or pillows on the beds, and no eating or using the toilet.

If someone could do all that, would they even be human?

"The key issue now is,"

Just as he was pondering this, Joe McPee's voice suddenly rang out from behind him.

"What exactly is the 'stance' behind these rules?"

"What's with this 'stance' distinction?"

"The so-called stance is the purpose for which these rules are established."

As he spoke, Qiao Maipi had already entered the dormitory building.

"We don't have much time, so let's talk as we walk."

Qiao Zhou and the others followed them inside.

“We are in Run, Run Middle School. It’s obvious that there’s something here that’s not good for us, but from our perspective, we don’t know what it is.”

You Sifang also roughly knows the meaning of buckwheat husk.

"Yes, that's true."

Joe Maip nodded.

"Isn't it a school?"

Zhao Shitang interjected.

"The school sets up these ridiculous rules, restricting us in this way and that, and then punishing us for it."

"it's not true."

Qiao Zhou said.

"These rules may restrict our actions, but they are not necessarily detrimental to us."

He also discovered this problem.

"Another possibility is that these rules exist to protect us. As long as we act in accordance with these rules, we can live safely. Otherwise, we will be corrupted by some force."

That's exactly what I mean.

"We don't know if the person we played against is from this school."

"So what do we do now? In either case, we can't rashly break the rules. It seems that the situation is not improving at all."

"No, actually there's some very bad news."

Joe Maip's expression was very serious.

"I guess Tanshan Yu and Liyouan have already been expelled. If the school's rules are really protecting us, then they are no longer under the school's protection. In other words, they have probably been killed by now."
