JOJO: Bizarre Adventure
Chapter 249 Destroyers of Civilization (1)
My name is Otomo Takeshi.
Or rather, I didn't have this name before.
I live on a planet located in the Orion Arm of the Milky Way-Solar System.
These aliens call this place "Earth".
It wasn't until a long time ago that I learned something.
It may sound strange, but it's true.
These aliens are somewhat different from our civilization; their overall technology is far inferior to ours.
At least they do not possess the technology for interstellar travel.
During my student years (yes, we didn't fully master the technique of directly cramming knowledge into our brains, more on that later), I underwent a series of mission-based educations.
Our civilization has a unique way of development.
This is extremely superior.
In our civilization, some people are born with a mission.
I am one of them.
It's hard to understand in our language, but if we compare it to Earth languages, the pronunciation would be something like "Lekamu" (this word has been automatically transliterated into your usual language, you're welcome).
The translated meaning can be understood as two separate words, because that's how the word is, and it's difficult to make a practical distinction:
That is, "pioneers" and "destroyers".
The Lekamu are a separate race with a remarkably strong ability to imitate and learn.
For us, Lekam were pioneers; for those aliens, Lekam were destroyers.
Our civilization can achieve the development of other civilizations through killing.
This sounds strange, but to put it simply, the Lekamu are sent to various parts of the universe to slaughter the civilized life on their respective planets.
Then the civilization components of these intelligent beings killed by Lekamu will be transferred to our home planet.
This applies to everything, including technology, martial arts, art, and strategy.
Then all of these elements will be integrated into our civilization and become part of it.
With this ability, our civilization has progressed at an extremely rapid pace.
However, nothing is ever smooth sailing; there are gains and losses.
The Lekamu race itself cannot improve itself through these things.
Therefore, we can only strengthen ourselves through our own methods and our own learning.
The lifespan of the Leka is very long. When we were sent to other planets, we were basically still in our infancy, although our bodies had already grown.
We can use our talents to mimic the appearance of aliens, and even replicate their physical structure one-to-one.
This is done to ensure their ability to survive in the local area.
After all, only the physiological structures of the native races on these planets are adapted to the local living environment.
Then, through our powerful learning abilities, we will become qualified assassins, destroyers of civilization.
When I first came here, I was incredibly excited.
This planet will hold the ideals I have pursued throughout my life.
--------
"Leka's ideals... are a joke!"
When I was driven to the brink by these ridiculously strong people, this was the sentence that came to my mind.
This was told to me by someone from the same batch as me.
He told me that there is only one way for every Lekamu to fulfill his mission: to kill to the death.
Because no one can single-handedly destroy a civilization from scratch.
His former friend had secretly told him that the kind of Lekam who could truly destroy civilization was one in a hundred thousand.
A race that seeks to destroy civilization is ultimately nothing more than a naive prisoner.
He told me that the mission education we receive is like a proverb in his country: a carrot in front of a donkey.
This brainwashing education makes us believe that we are capable of accomplishing this great cause, but that is not the case.
He died shortly after that, and I have never seen another Lekamu since.
I was probably a little lost, but I still kept assassinating high-ranking figures on Earth using the combat skills I had learned.
A few years later, a group of organizations approached me.
I believe my abilities far surpass those of most people on this planet.
Although I don't possess any special abilities, very few people can defeat me thanks to my physique and combat skills.
A more reasonable description would be that my physical fitness and mental strength are extremely powerful.
I have fought against most of the races on this planet.
Of all these, the most terrifying is humanity.
Despite being a race with inherently weak combat abilities, humans have ruled this planet for thousands of years.
The people I encountered that day were probably human, and when they appeared in front of me, I didn't realize the seriousness of the situation.
The leader was a slightly overweight, disheveled South Asian.
My years of combat experience tell me that they are no ordinary people.
So I launched my attack before the other side could make a move.
I believe my martial arts skills are quite proficient, and there are very few people on this planet who can defend against my sneak attacks.
But the knife missed the man.
I saw it; it was his "stand-in".
The aliens on this planet possess a unique talent they call "stand-ins".
The principle is that when these aliens' mental strength reaches a certain level, they will awaken a special ability.
This ability usually manifests in some tangible form, which can only be seen by extraterrestrials with extremely strong mental power, typically those with similar awakened abilities.
This kind of vessel is called a "stand-in".
I don't possess this ability, probably because my structure is different from that of these aliens.
However, I have killed quite a few Stand users over the years, and their abilities should have been transmitted back to my home planet through me.
I felt some pressure when I was with these people.
Because my mental strength is quite strong, I can see the Stand.
This guy's double is no ordinary person.
At the same time, the others behind also reacted.
boom!
A gunshot rang out, causing a tremor in the surrounding area, but no bullet was seen.
The person who fired the shot was a burly middle-aged man.
The man had East Asian features, exuding an aura of power and dominance. He had a round face with stubble and wore a white hat.
In his hand was an old-fashioned pistol, which, based on my understanding of this place, should have been obsolete decades ago.
There's absolutely no way a group of people like that would bring an old, broken pistol loaded with duds to a fight.
Therefore, there must be a reason behind that.
So, where are the bullets?
I didn't know, but I quickly distanced myself from that group of people.
At this moment, cold sweat had already seeped onto my face.
Looking at this group of people in front of me, my heart began to pound.
Who exactly are these guys...?
Behind them were a scruffy-looking fat man, a muscular man wearing a red headscarf, and someone dressed in... damn what is that? It looks like ancient clothing on display in a museum...
This group of strange-looking humans surrounded me.
There was no other way but to fight with all our might.
But these guys... are too strong!
