From cannon fodder villain to superpowered queen

Chapter 7: Another Turmoil Erupts in the Jiang Family, the Female Lead Responds Calmly

Jiang smiled sinisterly, a smile that betrayed a calculating intent: "Bi Yao, now that you're a first-class maid, your abilities naturally need to improve as well. From today onwards, you will be solely responsible for the daily lives of the young ladies and mistresses in the manor, including their jewelry and clothing." Bi Yao sneered inwardly. Was she trying to work her to death?

On the surface, she obediently replied, "Yes, Madam." Madam Jiang continued, "Also, you will be in charge of the work of all the maids in the mansion. Make sure they are diligent and don't slack off." Bi Yao rolled her eyes inwardly. This was going to make her the head maid, which would offend people!

Her expression remained unchanged: "Bi Yao understands."

Throughout the day, Bi Yao was constantly on her feet, running from the east courtyard to the west courtyard, from the warehouse to the garden, as busy as a spinning top.

She had just finished massaging the legs of the eldest wife of the Jiang family when Jiang Yao sent someone to tell her to find a fabric called "Heavenly Silk Rain" to make new clothes.

Bi Yao knew it was a trick as soon as she heard the name. "Heavenly Silkworm Rain" was a legendary fabric that was hard to buy even if you had money.

Jiang Yao is deliberately trying to embarrass her!

She wasn't annoyed; she smiled slightly, turned, and went to the storeroom.

Half an hour later, Bi Yao appeared before Jiang Yao with several bolts of shimmering fabric: "Second Miss, the Heavenly Silk Rain you requested is indeed rare, but I've found an even better 'Ice Silk Snow Gauze,' which is lighter and more breathable than Heavenly Silk Rain, and more suitable for summer wear." Jiang Yao looked at the fabric, which was even more precious than she had imagined, her face turning pale and then red, finally stomping her foot in anger: "You...you..."

As night fell, Bi Yao dragged her tired body back to her room.

She had just sat down when she heard a sarcastic voice from outside the door: "Oh, isn't this our newly promoted first-class maid? What's wrong, are you exhausted?"

Bi Yao looked up and saw Liu Fu, who had been demoted, standing at the door. She sneered, "Whether I'm tired or not is none of your business. But you, a demoted housekeeper, instead of reflecting on your own actions, have the time to mock me?"

Liu Fu was taken aback by her words, and his face turned somewhat pale.

He snorted coldly and turned to leave.

Bi Yao knew this was just the beginning, and Liu Fu would definitely not let it go.

The next day, Bi Yao was to prepare a special set of spices for Jiang, which required specific grinding tools.

But she searched the entire warehouse and still couldn't find it.

Bi Yao sneered inwardly; it seemed someone was deliberately causing trouble.

She quietly summoned several servants and, in front of them, turned the storeroom upside down. Finally, "accidentally," she found the tools in Liu Fu's room.

"Butler Liu, how did my things end up here with you?" Bi Yao looked at Liu Fu with a half-smile, her tone laced with sarcasm.

Liu Fu's face turned ashen, and he vehemently denied it: "I don't know what you're talking about! This thing has always been with me!"

Bi Yao didn't waste any words with him and simply took the tools back.

The other servants' gazes towards Liu Fu changed; clearly, they now believed Bi Yao's words.

Hiding in the shadows, Chun Tao witnessed this scene and felt a surge of resentment.

She found an opportunity to spread rumors about Bi Yao in front of the other maids, saying that Bi Yao bullied the other servants because she was a first-class maid.

Bi Yao had long anticipated that Chun Tao would cause trouble, so she pretended not to hear and continued doing her own thing.

That evening, she gathered all the maids together, produced the evidence that Chun Tao had used to frame her, and exposed Chun Tao's true colors in front of everyone.

Chun Tao was ostracized by the other maids, and feeling extremely ashamed, she dared not act recklessly again.

Bi Yao looked at everyone, a cold smile curling at the corner of her lips.

She clapped her hands and said, "Alright, the show's over for today. Everyone can go home now." She turned and left, leaving behind only a cold, indifferent silhouette.

Suddenly, a figure appeared around the corner, a pair of cold eyes staring at the direction Bi Yao had gone...

Seeing Bi Yao manage to subdue all the maids and servants, Old Madam Jiang felt incredibly envious, even more so than if she had eaten an unripe lemon.

Her eyes lit up, and an idea came to her: "Bi Yao, there's a small banquet being held in the manor in three days. You're in charge. If you mess it up, you'll be demoted!" Bi Yao almost burst out laughing when she heard this. This old lady was really "still got it," preparing a banquet in three days?

Are they expecting her to perform for "three days and three nights"?

On the surface, however, she respectfully replied, "Don't worry, Madam, Bi Yao will definitely handle it perfectly!"

Bi Yao was not one to sit idly by and wait for her fate.

She immediately began to "deploy troops," arranging the maids and servants meticulously, even managing which aunt in the kitchen was a fraction of a second too slow in chopping vegetables.

She also discovered that the expenses of the Chiang family mansion were a bottomless pit, with resources being wasted in many places, which could only be described as "outrageously extravagant".

She secretly wrote down these questions, preparing to find a suitable opportunity to "teach" Madam Jiang a lesson.

The three days passed in the blink of an eye, and on the day of the banquet, the place was packed with guests and incredibly lively.

Bi Yao was busy running around, arranging everything in an orderly manner; she was practically a "human spinning top."

Just as the banquet was about to come to a successful end, Jiang Yao, that "little drama queen," was back at it again.

She "accidentally" knocked over her wine glass, spilling red wine all over the floor, and then pointed at Bi Yao and began to "attack": "Bi Yao, how can you do this job? How can you make a mistake at such an important occasion!" Bi Yao watched Jiang Yao's exaggerated acting without any emotion, and even wanted to applaud her.

Just then, a deep voice came from the crowd: "I think it might not be Bi Yao's fault..."
