From cannon fodder villain to superpowered queen

The joy of victory receded like the tide, replaced by an indescribable sense of unease.

Bi Yao and Jiang Ruiyuan stood still, like two statues, their eyes scanning everything around them.

The familiar streets and buildings were now shrouded in a flickering light, as if covered by a cheap special effects filter, giving off an indescribable eeriness.

"Brother Yuan, what... what's going on?" Bi Yao's voice trembled slightly, and she subconsciously gripped Jiang Ruiyuan's hand tightly, her fingertips icy cold.

Jiang Ruiyuan didn't speak, but simply gripped her hand tightly, a wary glint in his deep eyes.

He keenly sensed that the surrounding air was eerily quiet; even the usual chirping of birds had vanished, as if the entire world had fallen into silence.

This eerie silence is more unsettling than any commotion.

Jiang Ruiyuan subconsciously closed his eyes, and heard a series of surging energy sounds in his ears, like waves crashing against rocks, or like the low roar of a giant beast.

When the light faded, Jiang Ruiyuan opened his eyes, and the scene before him shocked him.

Bi Yao stood there unharmed, the light that had surrounded her now contained within her, and she exuded a powerful aura, like a queen descending to earth.

"Holy crap! Yao Yao, you...you're cheating, aren't you?" Jiang Ruiyuan was dumbfounded. This was even more exciting than any wish-fulfillment novel he had ever read!

Bi Yao smiled slightly, clenched her fist, and felt the surging power within her body.

"Luckily I reacted quickly, otherwise I would have really become cannon fodder." As she spoke, she punched the invisible wall.

With a deafening roar, the invisible wall that had trapped them shattered instantly, turning into starlight that dissipated into the air.

Looking at the scene before him, Jiang Ruiyuan felt not only shock, but also surprise and pride.

"As expected of my wife, she's awesome!"

However, before they could be happy for long, something strange happened.

The shimmering light around them suddenly coalesced into strange creatures of various shapes, some resembling giant spiders, others like flying bats, and still others like floating jellyfish.

Bi Yao also felt the pressure. These creatures not only had bizarre attack methods, but their numbers were also numerous, seemingly endless.

Worse still, the surrounding environment seemed to be helping these creatures, with the flickering light constantly interfering with their vision and judgment.

"Watch me!" Jiang Ruiyuan roared, and in a flash, he charged towards the center of the monster.

He moved like a nimble monkey, weaving through the gaps in the monsters' attacks and drawing most of their attention.

"Come on, you little bastards, Grandpa's here!"

Taking advantage of the opportunity, Bi Yao gathered her strength, and the energy within her body surged wildly, converging on her fist.

The once pale fist was now enveloped in multicolored light, radiating a terrifying power.

She took a deep breath, locked onto the brightest light source, and leaped up.

"Take this punch!" Bi Yao shouted, smashing the source of light with the force of a thunderbolt.

With a deafening roar, the light source exploded instantly, turning into countless fragments.

At the same time, those originally ferocious monsters, like puppets that had lost control, fell to the ground, twitched a few times, and then became still.

The two worked together seamlessly, repeating the same method to destroy all the light sources one by one.

When the last monster fell, peace returned to the surroundings.

Bi Yao and Jiang Ruiyuan exchanged a smile, their expressions a mixture of exhaustion and joy.

"Yay! Done!" Bi Yao excitedly pumped her fist.

The battle was over, and my tense nerves finally relaxed.

Jiang Ruiyuan walked up to Bi Yao and gently wiped the sweat from her face, his movements as tender as if he were handling a precious work of art.

She leaned against Jiang Ruiyuan's chest, feeling his warm embrace and a sense of security.

The surroundings were peaceful, with only a gentle breeze blowing and the faint scent of grass filling the air; everything seemed so beautiful.

But just then, the sky suddenly darkened, and the once clear sky was now shrouded in a huge shadow.

A massive crack appeared out of nowhere above their heads, emanating a chilling aura...
