Reborn Fairy Wife Takes Me on a Gaggle-Fire rampage

Chapter 94 Blood is Thicker than Water

Wen Shu gazed tenderly at Mu Chen, who was so busy that he didn't even have time to eat, and a gentle smile appeared on her lips. She said softly, "My dear Chen, let me take care of the lovely Ruoruo! I'm already full."

Hearing Wen Shu say this, Mu Chen quickly put down what he was doing, turned his gaze to her, and asked with some concern, "But Shu Shu, it seems like you haven't eaten much. Are you feeling unwell?"

Wen Shu gently shook her head and replied with a smile, "No, Chen, I felt really bad seeing you so focused on taking care of Ruoruo that you forgot to eat yourself. So I'll eat a little bit first, and then I'll have a little more after you finish eating." As she spoke, she reached out and gently patted Mu Chen's shoulder to reassure him.

Mu Chen frowned slightly after hearing this, thought for a moment, but finally nodded and replied, "Alright then, Shu Shu, please don't go hungry." After saying that, he went back to work.

Time seemed to stand still. After a long while, the sumptuous meal finally came to an end. Everyone left the table contentedly and moved to the spacious and bright living room, where they sat together and listened to the old man's words.

The old man sat steadily in the main seat, his weathered face bearing the marks of time, yet his eyes remained sharp and kind. He glanced around at his relatives present and asked slowly, "My children, how have you all been lately?"

As soon as he finished speaking, everyone chimed in with their own responses. One person said with a smile, "Grandpa, I'm doing great. Work is going well, and my life is fulfilling!" Another person chimed in, "Yes, Grandpa, we're all doing well, so don't worry about us!" Others excitedly shared their recent small achievements and interesting experiences.

The old man nodded slightly, a relieved smile on his face. After everyone quieted down, he spoke earnestly, "We're family. If anyone encounters difficulties or troubles in the future, we must help and support each other. Remember, blood is thicker than water, and family ties are always the strongest support!" He then looked firmly at each person.

Everyone nodded in agreement with the old man's words. For a moment, the living room was filled with a warm and comforting atmosphere of family affection.

Sunlight streamed through the window, filling the room with a sense of languor and weariness. The old man, sitting in his armchair, couldn't help but yawn. He rubbed his eyes, as a wave of drowsiness washed over him.

The old man slowly raised his hand and waved to the crowd, indicating that if they had things to attend to, they could leave first. Upon seeing this, everyone respectfully bowed to the old man and bid him farewell before quietly leaving the room.

Then, a well-trained servant came forward and carefully helped the old man to his feet. The old man stood up shakily, his steps slightly unsteady, and slowly walked towards the backyard under the servant's guidance. Along the way, the old man's eyelids grew heavier and heavier, but he still forced himself to stay awake until he finally arrived at the comfortable bed.

The maid gently helped the old man remove his coat and shoes, then helped him to bed and carefully covered him with a blanket. Soon after lying down, the old man began to snore softly and drifted off into a sweet dream.

With a smile, Mu Chen said to Wen Shu, "Why don't we go to the restoration room together and see how the renovation is going?" His eyes revealed a hint of anticipation. Wen Shu nodded slightly in agreement and replied softly, "Yes, it has been quite a while since I last went there. It's about time we went to take a look."

Afterwards, they walked together to their parents' room and politely said goodbye. When their parents learned that they were going to the restoration room, they kindly told them to be careful on their journey and expressed their anticipation to see what the restoration room would look like when it was completed.

After leaving home, Mu Chen and Wen Shu walked side by side to the car parked in the courtyard. Sunlight shone on the car, making it sparkle brilliantly. Mu Chen gentlemanly opened the car door for Wen Shu, and only after she was seated did he walk around to the driver's seat and get in himself.

The engine started, and the vehicle slowly drove out of the courtyard, smoothly proceeding along the wide road. Tall plane trees lined both sides of the road, their dense branches intertwining to form a large arched opening. A gentle breeze rustled the leaves, as if nature were playing a beautiful symphony.

Several small and lovely birds perched on the branches of the sycamore tree, hopping and playing happily, chirping merrily from time to time, adding a touch of life and vitality to the quiet street.

As they slowly approached the repair room, Wen Shu, sitting in the passenger seat, felt a wave of drowsiness wash over her. Her eyelids began to feel heavy, as if a thousand pounds were pressing down on them, forcing her to squint her eyes into narrow slits.

Just then, Mu Chen, who was focused on driving, said softly, "We've arrived." Hearing this, Wen Shu, who had been in a half-awake state, snapped out of her daze. She was slightly stunned at first, and then reacted, getting out of the car slowly and lazily.

The two walked side by side into the restoration room. Upon entering, they saw the experienced craftsman intently painting the walls with a brush. His technique was skillful and efficient, each stroke of the brush possessing a unique rhythm. The restoration room had changed considerably since then, taking shape. Various tools and materials were neatly arranged on the floor; the walls, after their initial coat of paint, appeared much whiter, and the entire space was significantly brighter.

Wen Shu stood quietly in the center of the empty, somewhat desolate room, her gaze slowly rising upwards, as if trying to pierce through the ceiling and uncover the secrets hidden within. She frowned slightly, thinking to herself: Although this room is almost finished with its meticulous renovations, it still feels like something is missing.

Looking around, the snow-white walls seemed particularly desolate, and the polished floor reflected a faint light, but could not conceal the emptiness and loneliness of this space. Not a single piece of furniture could embellish this room or give it the vitality it should have.

Wen Shu bit her lower lip lightly, and an idea gradually became clear in her mind—this place needs some small antiques! Those objects that have weathered the vicissitudes of time and carry historical memories will surely add a unique charm and cultural heritage to this room. So, she secretly made up her mind that when she had free time, she would definitely go and collect a batch of exquisite small antiques to display here. Perhaps it would be an antique vase filled with a few delicate flowers; or perhaps it would be an old calligraphy or painting, hanging on the wall to showcase the owner's elegant taste... Thinking of these, a look of anticipation appeared on Wen Shu's face.
