Reborn Fairy Wife Takes Me on a Gaggle-Fire rampage

Chapter 50 The Mysterious Black Cat

As the seasons changed, the manor's atmosphere became vibrant. Sunlight filtered through the treetops, dappling the winding paths, and birds sang merrily in the branches, seemingly providing accompaniment to the manor's lively ambiance. Little Black, the once lively and energetic kitten, whom I hadn't seen for several days, had grown increasingly plump, its fur gleaming glossy in the sunlight. It was round and full, its belly almost touching the ground, and each step seemed somewhat labored.

Little Black seemed curious about Wen Shu's disappearance. It circled around Wen Shu, sniffing the air with its moist nose, as if trying to find Wen Shu's whereabouts. Its eyes sparkled with longing for its master and curiosity about the unknown. The servants were busy at the manor; some were pruning flowers in the garden, some were picking ripe fruit in the orchard, and others were preparing a sumptuous dinner in the kitchen.

Every detail in this manor exudes warmth and vitality. Mu Chen carried his luggage and slowly walked into the bedroom, where the furnishings were filled with the warmth of home, making one feel incredibly comfortable. Wen Shu, feeling tired after a long day, changed into soft loungewear, preparing to enjoy a sumptuous dinner.

After handling some urgent matters at the company, Mu Chen couldn't wait to rush home. He knew that Wen Shu would be waiting for his return.

On his way home, Mu Chen made a special detour to Wen Shu's favorite dessert shop to bring her back her favorite treat. He knew that these little surprises always made her happier. Back home, he carefully washed his hands, then skillfully cracked open the crab shell for Wen Shu, extracting the delicious crab meat.

The restaurant in the manor is softly lit, and the table is set with exquisite tableware and a bouquet of fresh flowers, creating a romantic atmosphere.

Wen Shu sat at the dining table, watching Mu Chen's busy figure, her heart filled with gratitude and happiness. At dinner, Mu Chen carefully peeled crabs for Wen Shu, placing the freshest crab meat on her plate. The two ate and chatted, enjoying their precious time together.

Every corner of the manor bears witness to their love and care, filling this home with warmth and happiness.

After dinner, as night fell, the fatigue from their journey led them to decide to rest early. In the room, under the warm light, they exchanged a few words before drifting off to sleep.

The next day, before dawn, the soft patter of rain could be heard outside the window. Awakened by the refreshing sound, Wen Shu rubbed her sleepy eyes, sat up in her soft bed, and stretched. She gently drew back the curtains, and through the crack in the window, she saw the outside world shrouded in a thin mist, the raindrops shimmering silver in the faint morning light.

Wen Shu curiously peeked out, her gaze piercing through the misty rain, settling on the lush osmanthus tree in the courtyard. Her eyes suddenly lit up as she spotted Xiao Hei—the mysterious black cat—sitting under the tree, its body seemingly radiating an eerie glow in the faint morning light. A surge of intense curiosity welled up within Wen Shu; she wanted to know what Xiao Hei was doing.

She imagined what Xiao Hei might have buried—was it its favorite dried fish? Or was it performing some kind of mysterious ritual? Various fantastical scenarios floated through Wen Shu's mind. She knew Xiao Hei wasn't an ordinary house cat; it seemed to possess extraordinary intelligence and abilities. Wen Shu had heard some legends about mythical beasts, and she began to wonder if Xiao Hei belonged to some ancient family of mythical creatures.

Wen Shu decided that whenever she had free time, she would delve into ancient books to find clues about Xiao Hei. She longed to understand Xiao Hei's origins and its mysterious powers. She believed the answers lay hidden within those ancient texts and legends. Her heart was filled with anticipation, and also with curiosity about Xiao Hei's future.

Accompanied by the sound of rain, Wen Shu snuggled back into her warm bed. Mu Chen turned and held Wen Shu tenderly, saying, "You're awake, Shu Shu." Wen Shu gave a soft "Mmm." Mu Chen kissed Wen Shu's forehead, "Sleep a little longer." Mu Chen smelled the faint fragrance in Wen Shu's hair, "Shu Shu, you're so charming." Mu Chen kissed Wen Shu's cheeks, from her cheeks to her neck, making Wen Shu feel a tingling sensation. Mu Chen removed Wen Shu's nightgown, and Wen Shu felt a surge of heat from Mu Chen's teasing. Wen Shu let out a soft moan, and another tender morning ensued. Wen Shu was too tired to get up early. Mu Chen was dressed neatly, his sharp suit making him look exceptionally energetic. He carefully prepared a delicate bird's nest soup for Wen Shu. As Wen Shu took the soup, she murmured to herself, filled with doubt. She wondered why some people possessed such boundless energy, seemingly never tiring. Mu Chen is always like this; no matter how early he gets up, he is always full of energy and handles all kinds of matters with ease. He seems to never need extra rest, always able to complete his work efficiently, and still have the energy to care for the people around him.

Wen Shu remembered one time when, after a long day of intense business negotiations, Mu Chen offered to accompany her to a charity gala. At the gala, he maintained his elegant demeanor, chatting and laughing with people from all walks of life, showing no signs of fatigue. Wen Shu couldn't help but marvel at Mu Chen's seemingly inexhaustible energy. She knew there must be a unique secret behind it—perhaps good lifestyle habits, efficient time management, or some health secret she hadn't yet discovered. Wen Shu decided to find an opportunity to ask Mu Chen for advice.

Mu Chen gently pressed his lips to Wen Shu's forehead and said tenderly, "I have to go to the company, darling. If anything happens, remember to ask Butler Zhu to take you." A thought suddenly flashed through Wen Shu's mind: why not sign up for driving lessons herself? So, she picked up her phone and started searching for nearby driving schools. After resting until noon and enjoying a hearty lunch, Wen Shu asked Butler Zhu to drive her to the driving school. During the drive, Butler Zhu couldn't help but ask curiously, "Miss Wen Shu, why do you suddenly want to learn to drive? Is it inconvenient for me to drive you?" Wen Shu sensed the doubt in Butler Zhu's voice and smiled, explaining, "Oh, no, Butler Zhu. I just think learning to drive would be more convenient, and it's a new skill too."

During her search for driving schools, Wen Shu carefully compared the course schedules, instructor qualifications, and student reviews of various schools. She also paid special attention to the location, hoping to find one close to home and with convenient transportation. Ultimately, she chose a reputable driving school with complete facilities and booked a trial lesson. Wen Shu completed the registration process on her phone, happily anticipating her new experience.
