Reborn Fairy Wife Takes Me on a Gaggle-Fire rampage
Chapter 5 Have you ever been to City C?
After preparing the gifts, Su Yun's mood lightened considerably. She planned to send Xiao Hei and Xiao Bai to a pet boarding center, so she began packing their daily necessities. Then, she got into the car with the cats and dogs. All of this was observed by Mu Chen, who was standing by the window. He remembered that she had once owned a black cat named Yao Yao, and now these two pets bore a striking resemblance to that cat, making him even more certain that she was Wen Shu. However, he had no idea what she had experienced in the past five years. Mu Chen frowned, a complex emotion welling up within him. He decided to find out what had happened to Wen Shu in the past five years. He picked up his phone and dialed his personal assistant: to investigate what had happened to Wen Shu in those five years. Meanwhile, Su Yun had arrived at the pet boarding center. She carefully explained Xiao Hei and Xiao Bai's eating habits and special needs to the staff, ensuring they received the best care while she was away. Her love and attentiveness towards the pets impressed the staff, who promised to take care of Xiao Hei and Xiao Bai as if they were their own. Su Yun left the boarding center satisfied.
Su Yun returned to Fuyao Residence with a leisurely air, took off the clothes she had worn for boarding the cats and dogs, and changed into a flowing purple dress. Her hair, smooth as silk, swayed gently with her steps, and the ribbons at her waist danced, like a vivid painting. She picked up the book she was reading, "The Key of Time," and walked towards the pavilion in the courtyard.
Inside the pavilion, a gentle breeze rustled through the trees, sunlight filtering through the gaps and casting dappled shadows on the stone table. Su Yun sat down and opened the book. She needed to find the mysterious Moon Key; only on the night of the full moon, by setting up the Shifting Array, could she see the past and travel to the future. Around the pavilion, birdsong rose and fell, as if cheering her on. Su Yun's fingers lightly traced the pages, each word seeming to whisper ancient secrets. She knew this task was no easy feat, but she never considered backing down. As time passed, Su Yun gradually immersed herself in the world of the book, her mind becoming one with ancient wisdom. She understood that only through tireless effort and the accumulation of wisdom could she successfully set up the array on the night of the full moon. The sunlight moved slowly across the stone table, the shadows shifting subtly, as if reminding her that time was ticking away.
Su Yun took a deep breath, trying to calm her excitement and nervousness. She continued to open the ancient and heavy book in her hands; every word and every symbol seemed to contain some mysterious and powerful force. She stared intently at the strange characters, her heart filled with doubt and curiosity. Where exactly should she go to find the legendary Moon Key? This question kept swirling in her mind, refusing to leave.
She gently turned the moonlight bracelet on her wrist, an exquisite ornament made of a mysterious material that emitted a faint silver glow. She carefully placed the book she was holding into the bracelet, as if performing some kind of sacred ritual.
As the book disappeared into the moonlight bracelet's glow, Su Yun felt a sense of relief. She closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and tried to calm herself down so she could better consider her next move. The journey to find the Moon Key had only just begun. She knew that the road ahead was full of unknowns and challenges, but she also understood that only by finding the Moon Key could she unravel all the mysteries in her heart.
Upstairs, Mu Chen's gaze fell on Su Yun, noticing the moonlight bracelet on her wrist. Wen Shu also had one, and never took it off. What did Su Yun's action mean? Was she really Wen Shu? His assistant hadn't sent any news yet, making him doubt whether he truly knew Wen Shu. A surge of astonishment welled up within him. Just then, he witnessed Wen Shu gracefully wave her sleeve in the pavilion, her fingers elegantly twirling in a circle. Then, with a gentle flick, she scattered fish food, sending it arcing through the air before it slowly fell into the pond, scattering in an orderly fashion. Witnessing this, Mu Chen involuntarily widened his eyes. This…? It left Mu Chen speechless. Su Yun flicked her finger, and the pavilion's curtains, as if drawn by an invisible hand, slowly descended, obscuring Mu Chen's view. Standing upstairs, his heart pounded with emotion. Every movement Su Yun made seemed unbelievable to him. He had never seen Wen Shu act so magically, which only fueled his curiosity about Su Yun's identity. Mu Chen decided to go to Fuyao Residence to find out what was going on.
He quickly descended the stairs, crossed the courtyard, and headed straight for Fuyao Residence. Su Yun was resting on the sofa with her eyes closed, while fish in the pond playfully scrambled for food. Mu Chen knocked on the door of Fuyao Residence. Su Yun gently tapped the bamboo, conjuring the image of a woman, who then opened the door. The woman asked, "Who are you looking for? What brings you here?" Mu Chen was surprised; when had a woman appeared in the courtyard? All around was silent, save for the rustling of leaves in the gentle breeze. He wondered to himself, was Su Yun truly connected to Wen Shu? Or was it all just a coincidence? Mu Chen said, "I'm looking for Su Yun; I have something to ask her."
The woman smiled gently, gesturing for him to enter. Mu Chen stepped into Fuyao Residence, his gaze wandering through the courtyard, searching for Su Yun. The woman led Mu Chen into the living room, its elegant layout and the furniture complementing the calligraphy and paintings on the walls, creating a refined atmosphere. Su Yun was still resting in the pavilion, contemplating whether it would be better to clarify later that she wasn't Shushu. The woman said, "Su Su is resting; she'll be here in a moment."
Mu Chen sat in the living room, his well-defined knuckles lightly tapping the table, producing a crisp sound. He tried to remain calm, but his heart was far from at peace. Mu Chen's gaze kept drifting towards the doorway, anticipating Su Yun's appearance. Time seemed to slow down at this moment, every second filled with the agonizing wait.
Finally, after a long and silent wait, light footsteps broke the silence, and Su Yun gracefully entered the living room. Her face bore an undisguised weariness, as if she had just completed a long journey. He carefully observed Su Yun's every expression, every subtle movement, and a ripple of emotion stirred within him. The resemblance between her and Shu Shu was simply too striking, almost unbelievable. Although Shu Shu would never make the gesture of scattering fish food with his fingers, the red mole on Su Yun's hand was identical to Shu Shu's. Was this merely a coincidence? If she wasn't Shu Shu, then where was his Shu Shu? Su Yun wore no makeup; her natural beauty made her unadorned face even more pure and captivating. Her hair seemed to possess a magical power, gently soothing the years of hardship he had endured searching for Shu Shu. Every expression, every movement of hers was strikingly similar to his Shu Shu. Mu Chen stood up, nodded politely, and then got straight to the point: "Su Yun, have you ever been to City C?" Su Yun was slightly taken aback, as if she was trying hard to recall something. The Wen family seemed to be in City C. If that was the case, then it was as if she had been there. But Su Yun didn't want to recall. She felt that those lost memories were painful. She only wanted to look forward, find the Moon Key, and understand who she really was. She longed to unravel the mystery of her origins and find the answer that belonged to her.
