Chapter 214 Lu Yao's Brother

In the blink of an eye, the Immortal-Locking Chain hurtled towards Su Yun like a bolt of lightning, carrying a sharp aura and boundless pressure. At this critical moment, Su Yun remained calm. Her gaze sharpened, and her right hand swiftly pulled a large, crystal-clear jade scissor that emitted a mysterious light from her bosom.

With a sudden swing of Su Yun's arm, the jade scissors instantly transformed into a streak of light, colliding violently with the oncoming Immortal-Locking Chains with lightning speed. A crisp "crack" resounded, and the incredibly sturdy Immortal-Locking Chains were easily cut into countless fragments by the jade scissors, as fragile as paper. These fragments scattered everywhere, like starlight scattering across the ground.

Lu Yao watched helplessly as her prized Immortal-Locking Chain was shattered, a raging fire igniting within her. Her eyes widened, glaring fiercely at Su Yun, a chilling killing intent flashing within them. Then, Lu Yao rapidly formed hand seals, chanting incantations, unleashing a powerful spell. In an instant, dark clouds filled the sky, lightning flashed and thunder roared, and tens of thousands of sharp swords rained down from the heavens, a dense, overwhelming barrage hurtling towards Su Yun!

Faced with such a fierce attack, Su Yun showed no fear. She swiftly dodged the incoming swords, simultaneously redirecting the arrow in her hand to accurately strike several of them. Then, with a gentle wave of her left hand, a soft ribbon appeared out of thin air and stretched out swiftly like a serpent. In the blink of an eye, the ribbon tightly wrapped around Lu Yao, binding her securely.

Su Yun forcefully pulled the bound Lu Yao, leading her step by step towards the cave she had been so desperately protecting. The cave appeared deep and mysterious, its walls inlaid with various strange gems that emitted a faint glow. When they reached the end of the cave, they found a tightly closed stone door, its surface covered with intricate runes and patterns, clearly the location of a mechanism concealing an important secret.

Without hesitation, Su Yun channeled her inner strength into her palm and slammed it forward. A deafening roar followed, and the stone door shattered, releasing a pungent, decaying stench. As the dust settled, the scene inside the cave became clear—a large bed carved from a single piece of jade lay before her, upon which rested a snow-white deer. Beside the deer sat a resurrection lamp emitting a ghostly blue light.

Seeing the resurrection lamp, radiating a mysterious light and so close at hand, Lu Yao felt a surge of intense longing and anxiety. Her eyes widened, and she began to twist and struggle frantically. She used all her strength to try and break free from the ribbons tightly bound around her body by Su Yun. However, the ribbons seemed to have a life of their own, tightening their grip with her struggles, binding her completely and rendering her utterly immobile.

Seeing Lu Yao's intense reaction, Su Yun's eyes flashed with doubt. He tentatively asked, "Is this person your husband?"

Upon hearing this, Lu Yao's face turned red with anger, her eyes widened, and she shouted indignantly, "Stop talking nonsense! He's my own brother!"

As Lu Yao struggled, she shouted, "You absolutely cannot take the Soul-Returning Lamp! My brother desperately needs it to wake up. I went through countless hardships to snatch it from the ferocious rhinoceros demon!"

Su Yun raised an eyebrow and pressed, "How long has your brother been using this Soul-Returning Lamp?"

Lu Yao replied, panting heavily, "It's been a full ten years!"

Su Yun frowned and said with a hint of reproach, "Your brother hasn't woken up in the past ten years. Didn't you know to try other methods?"

Lu Yao looked blank and asked anxiously, "What method? If there were, I would have tried it already!"

Su Yun crossed his arms, shook his head, and said, "How would I know? But no matter what, I'm taking this Soul-Returning Lamp today!"

Lu Yao gritted her teeth and roared without backing down, "You won't get the Soul-Returning Lamp from me!"

Su Yun sneered and said disdainfully, "Look at you now, you can't even protect yourself, yet you still dare to try to stop me? That's just wishful thinking!"

Lu Yao snorted coldly, turned her head away, and ignored Su Yun.

Just then, Su Yun's serious expression suddenly changed, and her tone softened as she slowly said, "However, you can rest assured. Since I have made up my mind to take this Soul-Returning Lamp, I will naturally not stand idly by and will do everything I can to rescue your brother."

Without hesitation, Su Yun forcefully tossed Lu Yao into the deep, dark cave. Then, without looking back, she turned and left, leaving behind the words: "Just stay here in peace. I didn't take the Soul-Returning Lamp for nothing. As for your brother's matter, I will find a solution for you."

Su Yun dashed away like an arrow released from a bow, his speed astonishing. Lu Yao, left behind, didn't even have time to react. By the time she realized what was happening and tried to chase after him, he had vanished without a trace, disappearing as quickly as a sudden storm. In the blink of an eye, Su Yun had safely returned home.

As soon as they entered, Su Yun's little black dog eagerly rushed to greet them. Its large, bright black eyes were wide open, sparkling like two crystal-clear black gems, and it asked anxiously, "Master, you're finally back! I wonder if you've successfully retrieved the Soul-Returning Lamp?"

Upon hearing Xiao Hei's question, Su Yun smiled with relief, nodded gently, and then carefully raised her arm to take out the long-awaited treasure—the Soul-Returning Lamp—from the bracelet on her wrist.

Seeing the resurrection lamp emitting a mysterious light, Xiao Hei was so excited it almost jumped up. It shouted excitedly, "Great! Now our Mu Chen can be saved!"

Immediately afterwards, Su Yun and Xiao Hei stood side by side, their eyes fixed on the bright moon in the sky, quietly waiting for the moment when the moon would turn into a crescent. Time passed second by second, and neither of them dared to relax for a moment, staring intently at the night sky, afraid of missing the best opportunity.

Finally, after a long wait, the bright moon in the night sky gradually took on a crescent shape. Seeing this, Xiao Hei confidently and decisively said, "Alright, the time is ripe, we can begin!" And so, Su Yun and Xiao Hei worked together, preparing to face the crucial challenge ahead…
