As the two were cautiously searching around, a pack of snow wolves suddenly rushed out of the icy mist ahead and surrounded them.

These wolves have snow-white fur that blends seamlessly with their surroundings; only their blood-red eyes reveal their ferocity.

The snow wolves let out low growls, as if declaring that their territory was inviolable.

"Oh no, they're charging at us!" Tie Zhu exclaimed, quickly gripping his iron mace tightly in his hand.

Liu Xingchen reacted quickly, took out his black sword, the blade radiating a chilling killing intent.

He whispered, "Tiezhu, be careful. These wolves may look ordinary, but they might be quite strong."

Tie Zhu nodded: "Don't worry, Brother Xingchen, a few wolves are nothing to us."

The snow wolf howled for a while, and seeing that the two of them showed no fear, it launched an attack.

They were incredibly fast, like a white whirlwind rushing straight at the two of them.

Liu Xingchen and Tie Zhu exchanged a glance and attacked simultaneously.

Liu Xingchen's black sword drew a black arc, instantly killing more than a dozen snow wolves. Tie Zhu's iron mace was even more powerful and heavy; with one strike, several snow wolves were instantly smashed into a bloody mess.

"These wolves are quite strong, but dealing with them is a piece of cake for us," Tie Zhu said loudly, his voice carrying a hint of ease.

Don't be fooled by how easily Liu Xingchen and his companion chopped down these wolves; it was only because of their superior strength. If it were a lower-level cultivator, they might not be able to break through the wolves' tough hides in a single move.

Liu Xingchen nodded and said, "Don't be too careless. These wolves are fearless and we have to be careful of their group attacks."

As soon as he finished speaking, more snow wolves rushed in from all directions. They seemed fearless, relentlessly attacking Liu Xingchen and Tiezhu.

Liu Xingchen and Tie Zhu could only stand back to back, constantly attacking and killing the snow wolves that pounced on them one by one.

"How come there are so many wolves? It's endless!" Tie Zhu complained as he swung his iron mace.

Liu Xingchen was also somewhat helpless, but he knew he couldn't stay here any longer. He shouted, "Tiezhu, we have to get out of here quickly, or we'll be entangled by these wolves!"

The two were not afraid of the wolves, but the wolves seemed endless. They were afraid that if they fought until the end, they would be exhausted, and that would be terrible.

Tie Zhu nodded and said, "Okay, let's fight and retreat!"

The two of them slowly retreated while dealing with the snow wolf's attacks.

Liu Xingchen's black sword and Tie Zhu's iron mace left bloody streaks on the ice field. The corpses of the snow wolves piled up like mountains, but new snow wolves kept charging up, as if they could never be killed off.

Liu Xingchen and Tie Zhu fought and retreated on the ice field. The two cooperated well, and although there were many snow wolves, the wolf pack could not get close with their combined efforts.

However, as the battle continued, the distance between the two widened without them realizing it.

To avoid trouble, the two used the power of their black robes to change their appearance, making themselves unrecognizable to others. They now appeared to be two ordinary cultivators.

But as they fought and retreated, Tie Zhu unknowingly went beyond the range of Liu Xingchen's black-robed barrier.

At this moment, the originally ordinary cultivator's figure instantly became tall and mighty, with bulging muscles, standing on the snow like a small mountain.

Seeing this, Liu Xingchen was about to come over and bring Tie Zhu back into the barrier of his black robe when he froze.

Faced with the towering iron pillar, the surrounding snow wolves were stunned, and their fierce attacks instantly ceased.

Their gazes were all fixed on the iron pillar, then they all retreated to the side, lowered their heads, and ceased their attacks.

"Why have these wolves suddenly stopped attacking?" Tie Zhu asked, a hint of confusion in his eyes.

Liu Xingchen looked at the snow wolves around him and said, "Were these wolves also frightened by Tie Zhu's transformation?"

Tie Zhu's figure was truly eye-catching; he stood over two meters tall, with bulging muscles, looking imposing and extraordinary. His transformation not only changed his appearance but also exuded a powerful aura, making the surrounding snow wolves feel threatened.

However, these wolves are so ferocious. They weren't afraid of killing so many wolves just now. It would be absurd to think that a tall and strong body could subdue a pack of wolves.

Just as Liu Xingchen and Tie Zhu were still puzzled by the strange behavior of the wolf pack, a loud and long wolf howl suddenly rang out in the distance.

The wolf's howl seemed to pierce the silence of the ice field, carrying an undeniable majesty that echoed across the entire ice plain.

"What is that sound?" Tie Zhu stopped, a hint of surprise in his eyes. He looked into the distance, trying to find the source of the sound.

Liu Xingchen frowned, a hint of wariness flashing in his eyes: "That voice sounds like the leader of the wolf pack. Could it be that their leader has appeared?"

The moment they began to speak, the snow wolves around them suddenly moved. Their posture, which had been surrounding the two, instantly changed, as if they had received some kind of command, and the pack began to disperse in an orderly fashion.

The snow wolves moved in perfect unison, as if they had undergone rigorous training.

They first retreated slowly, then quickly turned around and ran towards the direction from which the sound came, moving at an extremely fast speed, disappearing into the end of the ice field in the blink of an eye.

Liu Xingchen and Tie Zhu watched the wolf pack depart, their hearts filled with questions. Tie Zhu couldn't help but ask, "Why did those wolves suddenly leave?"

Liu Xingchen thought for a moment and said, "I have a guess. It seems that this pack of wolves is guarding this ice field and preventing outsiders from entering."

Tie Zhu scratched his head: "So, their dispersal now means they're allowing us to enter?"

"That's how it should be?"

"why?"

"I think it's probably related to your transformation."

"Transform? Is there anything wrong with me turning back into my original form?" Tie Zhu still looked completely bewildered.

"If we want to know the answer, we'll have to go inside and take a look."

After saying that, Liu Xingchen took the lead and walked forward. Tie Zhu scratched his head and followed, saying, "Wait for me."

Suspecting that all of this was related to Tie Zhu's large size, Liu Xingchen simply stopped Tie Zhu from changing his form and let him remain in his original form to go deep into the ice field and see what happened.

We traveled for another two days across the far northern ice sheet.

The wind and snow continued, but the snow wolf attacks never happened again.

The ice field was a vast expanse of white, where the sky and the earth merged into one. There was nothing else around except ice and snow.

They walked for a long time, but still couldn't see any signs of life, or even a single landmark.

This endless monotony and desolation almost makes one lose their sense of time and direction.

"Brother Xingchen, are we lost?" Tiezhu stopped and looked at the vast white ice plains around him, a hint of confusion in his eyes.

Liu Xingchen also stopped, frowned, and said, "I'm a little unsure too. This ice field is too desolate, there aren't even any landmarks, it's easy to get lost."

They stood on the ice field, surrounded by silence, with only the howling wind whistling in their ears, making it impossible to determine their direction.

The two found a sheltered spot and sat down.

Liu Xingchen took out some dry food and hot water from his storage ring and handed them to Tiezhu: "Eat something first to warm yourself up."

Tie Zhu took the dry rations, took a bite, and said, "This place is so desolate. I feel like we've been walking for a long time, but it's like we're still in the same place."

Liu Xingchen nodded and said, "Yes, this ice field is too big. We have to be careful. Maybe we've already gone a long way, but we just can't see any changes."

After resting for a while, Liu Xingchen stood up, looked around, and suddenly, a hint of surprise flashed in his eyes: "Tiezhu, look over there!"

Following Liu Xingchen's pointing finger, Tie Zhu saw some faint black dots appearing on the distant ice field. These black dots stood out conspicuously against the vast white ice field.
