President, please comfort me.

Chapter 57 It hurts, be gentle!

You usually don't see girls dressed so flamboyantly around here; it's mostly rough men loading and unloading goods. In a way, what she's doing is even a bit dangerous.

The expensive shoes were casually tossed aside, and a pair of long, fair, and incredibly sexy legs were exposed to the air. The hem of her skirt had ridden up slightly because of her posture, fluttering gently in the breeze.

With her brows slightly furrowed, she slept like a flower, quiet and adorable, unlike the previous two times when she was reckless and bold; she still had a childlike heart.

Tang Chao frowned, got out of the carriage, and walked over.

"Lanling." He called her softly from the side, but there was no response.

"Lanling." He reached out and patted her arm, speaking again.

"Hmm." Lanling slowly opened her eyes and raised her head. A red mark appeared on her face, making her look a little silly. Her voice, just after waking up, was like a lazy cat meowing softly, with a hazy, hoarse, and indistinct quality.

Seeing who it was, she no longer felt the pain. Overjoyed, she stood up, still holding onto Tang Chao's thumbs with both hands. She smiled gently at him, her beautiful eyes crinkling: "Ah Chao."

Tang Chao wanted to take it out, but didn't dare to use too much force. The slightest movement only made Lanling grip even tighter, and she looked at him with a grin, as if to say, "What are you going to do to me?"

He had no choice but to give up and asked her, "Why are you here all alone, and asleep?"

Lanling had already prepared her explanation. She pouted and said pitifully, "Qibao and the others all have to go to work. I was bored staying at home by myself, so I wanted to wander around. I walked for too long and my new shoes didn't fit properly, so they bled. My feet hurt, so I sat down to rest for a while. I didn't expect to fall asleep because I was so sleepy."

"Wandering around, could you really go this far?" Tang Chao was somewhat skeptical.

Lanling lowered her head, her eyes darting left and right: "Yeah, that's right."

Tang Chao didn't expose her, but helped her sit down again, saying in a calm tone, "Let go of her hand, sit down, let me see where you're bleeding."

"Oh." Lanling obediently let go and sat down, placing her hands on either side of her knees, leaning forward, and pointing to her ankle: "It hurts here."

"Wait here." Tang Chao frowned as he looked at the wound, then sized her up and down before tossing out those two words and walking to his car. He then grabbed a light jacket and a first-aid kit.

He draped his coat over Lanling's pale thighs, then squatted down, knelt on one knee, lifted her foot, placed it on his knee, and examined it carefully. He then glanced at the shoes beside her, his face unusually angry, and said in a serious tone, "It's scraped and a little swollen. Wearing such high heels, it's no wonder it bleeds."

Seeing that he didn't comfort her but instead treated her this way, Lanling pursed her lips and looked at him pitifully, clearly becoming much more honest: "Why are you being so fierce? I didn't mean to."

Tang Chao realized that he had to be stricter and more stern with her, otherwise she would not listen to him at all.

Tang Chao opened the medicine box, deliberately ignoring her words, and asked her like he was scolding a child: "Dressed like this, sleeping here alone, have you thought about the consequences?"

Lanling said in a low voice, "I just wanted to rest for a bit."

"Bear with it, the wound might hurt a little after disinfection."

"Ah."

Tang Chao opened a bottle of iodine, dipped a cotton swab in it to disinfect her, and as soon as he touched Lanling, he started yelling, "Ouch, it hurts, it hurts! Be gentle!"

Seeing her face scrunched up, Tang Chao softened his tone slightly: "Don't wear such high heels next time."

Lanling watched as he disinfected her feet and applied ointment. Although her feet still hurt, she felt incredibly happy: "High heels look good on you."

Tang Chao laughed in exasperation: "Then don't cry out in pain."

He packed his medical kit and placed her shoes in front of her: "Let's go, I'll take you to eat."

Lanling's eyes immediately welled up with tears, and she pouted as she whined, "My feet hurt, I don't want to wear shoes."

Tang understood perfectly well that she was so blatantly asking for a hug. He hadn't really intended to let her leave anyway, but when he heard her say that, he simply stepped forward and gave her a princess carry, easily lifting her up.

Lanling wrapped her arms around his neck, enjoying his embrace and feeling his breath and heartbeat. As they walked, she praised him, "You're so amazing! Yang Xu said I was heavy and couldn't carry me."

Tang Chao suddenly paused, and a question blurted out, "Why did you let him carry you?"

Lanling was secretly delighted. He had fallen for it, haha.

She gave a smug yet adorable look: "Oh, it was a game competition. Don't get me wrong, we lost because he couldn't lift him."

"Besides, I don't let just anyone hug me." After saying this, she secretly glanced at Tang Chao to observe his reaction.

Unexpectedly, Tang Chao did not continue the topic. He carried her to the passenger seat, fastened her seatbelt, and got into the car.

As he started the car, he glanced at Lanling and asked, "What do you want to eat? I have to be back at 2 p.m. to sign an important contract, so we can't go to any restaurants that are too far away today."

Lanling was in a good mood and said with a smile, "It's okay, anything is fine, I'm fine with anything."

"Xiamen is by the sea, are you used to eating seafood?"

"Yes, I can get used to the food."

Tang Chao brought Lanling to a seafood restaurant by the dock. It had all kinds of seafood. Tang Chao was a regular customer, and the owner took him directly to the VIP room.

There was a lot of seafood served, and Lanling was probably really hungry by now. As soon as the dishes were served, she started eating without Tang Chao having to invite her.

After eating silently for about ten minutes, Tang Chao had been keeping an eye on Lanling the whole time. Seeing that she didn't touch the shrimp and crab on the table, he couldn't help but ask, "Why aren't you eating the shrimp and crab? Don't you like them?"

Lanling frowned, her gaze falling on the shrimp and crabs laid out in front of her. She pouted and muttered with a hint of disdain, "They're too hard to peel. Just looking at them gives me a headache."

Tang Chao couldn't help but sigh softly. He slowly put down his chopsticks and then reached out to pick up the huge, majestic king crab on the plate.

He skillfully manipulated the tools in his hands, carefully cutting into the edge of the crab shell and removing the crab meat bit by bit.

His movements were elegant and composed, and in no time, the bowl in front of him was filled with plump crab meat and rich crab roe.

Tang Chao placed the peeled meat in front of Lanling, his deep, pleasant voice carrying a hint of barely perceptible helplessness: "Eat up, and see which one you want to eat next?"

"Thank you! This is enough." Lanling looked at Tang Chao, her face beaming with undisguised joy. Then she lowered her head and put the meat into her mouth, her cheeks puffed out like a cute little squirrel.

Seeing that she was enjoying her meal, Tang Chao quietly scooped out another bowl for her: "Will you come back to the dock with me later? I'll have someone take you back."

Lanling didn't want to leave. What a great opportunity to spend time together! She asked, half-coquettishly and half-pleadingly, "Can I stay with you in the warehouse? It's so boring to go back alone now."
