President, please comfort me.

Chapter 26 Did Xiao He bully you?

Ye Lin didn't hear what Wen Qi said. Seeing that Xiao He's expression was not right, he quickly changed the subject and said as if showing off a treasure, "Come, come, Xiao Qi, try this fish."

Seeing this, Tang Chao quickly stepped in to smooth things over and changed the subject.

Xiao He remained silent and said nothing more. The others ate with great relish, and Tang Chao enthusiastically recounted many embarrassing stories about Ye Lin, making Wen Qi laugh heartily.

Xiao He caught a glimpse of her happy and excited expression when she smiled, as dazzling as the sun breaking through the clouds, and his annoyance dissipated somewhat.

Seeing that Wen Qi was in a good mood, Ye Lin took the opportunity to ask cautiously, "Qi, is your friend Chen Nuo still single?"

Upon hearing this, Wen Qi immediately became wary and turned to look at him: "Yeah, what's wrong?"

Ye Lin was overjoyed. Ignoring Xiao He's sharp gaze across from him, he raised an eyebrow and said, "If you'd like to get to know me, bring me out to hang out sometime. I don't have a girlfriend yet."

He thought for a moment and continued, "The other one is called Yang Xu, right? Let's invite him too, and make friends."

Wen Qi immediately understood what he meant, but she didn't want to refuse, so she could only say, "Okay, let me ask her."

Ye Lin made no attempt to hide his thoughts, and casually handed Wen Qi a large piece of dessert: "Okay, my happiness depends on you."

Wen Qi was flattered and half-jokingly said, "My friend has high standards, you still have to rely on yourself."

"Yes, I will definitely work hard." Ye Lin nodded confidently, a bright smile appearing on his lips.

Ye Lin's only purpose for this meal was to get Wen Qi to invite Chen Nuo out. Now that Wen Qi had agreed, he felt much more relaxed.

An hour later, the group stood at the entrance of the cafeteria. Wen Qi looked at Tang Chao and Ye Lin and said, "I'll take you to a place with really good food tonight. I go there all the time."

After saying that, he fell silent, clearly not intending to invite Xiao He.

Ah Chen could only smile awkwardly and remain silent because he had to protect Xiao He. Ye Lin, who now treated Wen Qi like a Bodhisattva, naturally agreed.

Just as Tang Chao was about to plead for Xiao He, Xiao He, with a hint of barely perceptible grievance beneath his calm expression, spoke first: "I'm leaving now, I have a meeting." Then, as if throwing a tantrum, he turned and left.

After greeting everyone, Ah Chen hurriedly followed.

Seeing this, Wen Qi, with her keen eye, waved to the two people in front of her: "See you tonight, bye-bye."

Ye Lin smiled and gave an OK sign. Tang Chao waved his hand and said, "See you tonight. We were both in Xiao He's office this afternoon. Let's go together after get off work."

"it is good."

In the office, Zhou Zhou was already half-asleep on a folding chair. When he saw Wen Qi return, he raised an eyebrow: "Your connections are impressive!"

Wen Qi didn't want to talk about her relationship with Xiao He behind her back with her colleagues, so she changed the subject: "We just happened to know each other. I'm sorry about today. Let's have dinner together again next time."

"It's okay, we can arrange a meal anytime."

Ye Lin and Tang Chao did indeed stay in Xiao He's office all afternoon to discuss work, during which time Wen Qi sent them the restaurant address.

As it was almost time to leave work, Tang Chao saw that Xiao He seemed to have made the company his home, so he kicked his desk with his long leg and said, "Let's go pick up Xiao Qi, let's go together."

Ye Lin closed the file, stood up, and stretched: "Let's go, we're grown men, let's take the initiative."

However, Xiao He, sitting to the side, remained motionless, like a statue.

He sat there calmly, his eyes fixed on the computer screen in front of him, not even lifting his eyelids, and said with a composed expression: "You guys go ahead, I have something to do."

Seeing that he was completely unyielding, the two were utterly exasperated: "Fine, but don't regret it if you don't go."

Xiao He didn't even look up. Tang Chao saw this and didn't say anything more. He and Ye Lin exchanged a glance, and the two turned around and walked towards the door in tacit understanding.

As the crisp sound of the door closing echoed throughout the office, Xiao He, who had been motionless, slowly raised his head.

He leaned back slightly in his office chair, his eyes closed, a look of exhaustion on his face, as if he were overwhelmed by the heavy workload.

A moment later, he took out his phone and made a call.

Wen Qi came out of get off work and met Tang Chao and Ye Lin at the door. Tang Chao said, "Xiao He is still busy and probably can't make it. Let's go over."

This was exactly what Wen Qi wanted to hear. She pointed in the direction of the electric bikes and said, "Oh, okay, I'll go ride one."

Ye Lin stopped her: "No need, it's nearby, we'll drive over."

So the three of them rode in the same car to the restaurant.

On a bustling street, there is a shop with an inconspicuous exterior but a brightly lit sign that reads "Sister Cui's Food Stall".

Busy Sister Cui recognized Wen Qi at a glance. She was a little surprised and walked closer with a smile: "Where are the other three today?"

Usually, there are always four people together when they come, but this time there were new people, so it's no wonder the boss asked a few more questions.

Wen Qi was clearly familiar with the boss, and she gestured with her eyes: "Yes, I brought a new friend today."

"Come in first, we've reserved a private room for you. We have whatever you want to eat." Sister Cui leaned closer and raised an eyebrow at Wen Qi, then whispered, "I'll make it for you first."

"Okay, thank you, Sister Cui." Wen Qi was amused by her appearance, and then skillfully led the two of them to the private room.

“My friends and I often come here. Although the environment can’t compare to those big hotels, the taste and atmosphere are better. I don’t know if you’ll be used to it.” Wen Qi sat down and poured them a glass of lemon water.

"I'm used to it, how could I not be? I think it's pretty good here too," Ye Lin quickly replied.

Tang Chao took a sip of lemonade and smiled, "As long as it tastes good, anywhere is fine, I'm not that picky."

"Mmm." Wen Qi felt much more relaxed after hearing that and handed over the menu: "What would you like to eat?"

Tang Chao said, "Just be direct, we don't have any dietary restrictions."

"Okay." Wen Qi ordered some signature dishes and then pressed the button on the table.

A short while later, just as the three of them were chatting enthusiastically, Sister Cui knocked on the door and brought in people to serve the dishes.

Before leaving, Wen Qi waved to her and said, "Sister Cui, save some of the three dishes for me, and make sure they're extra spicy. I'll take them with me later."

"No problem," Sister Cui replied and went out.

Ye Lin thought Wen Qi was bringing it to Xiao He, so he hesitated for a moment and said, "Xiao Qi, Brother Xiao can't eat spicy food."

Wen Qi was stunned by what he said and looked over in confusion: "Huh?"

Then she realized what she meant and said awkwardly, "No, I brought it for my friend."

Tang Chao was genuinely worried for Xiao He. While Ye Lin was in a daze, he asked knowingly, "Xiao Qi, did Xiao He bully you?"

Wen Qi didn't really want to talk about Xiao He, so she shook her head and changed the subject with a smile: "Let's eat. Try the food here and see if it tastes better than the cafeteria food."

Seeing this, Tang Chao and Ye Lin wisely picked up their chopsticks. The three of them ate for more than an hour before leaving the restaurant.

Tang Chao helped Wen Qi carry the packed food, and the three of them returned to the Xiao Group.

After picking up the electric scooter, Wen Qi went straight to Datang Family without even going to the headquarters.

Tang Chao was about to leave when he saw this, but Ye Lin, fearless of death, blurted out, "Why don't we go up and see what Brother Xiao is doing, and whether something's really wrong?"

Upon hearing this, Tang Chao also became interested, and the two hit it off immediately, then went to Xiao He's office.

To their surprise, the office was pitch black and there wasn't a soul in sight; Xiao He had long since disappeared.
