I heard you had a white moonlight who died young.
Chapter 11 Escape
Fan Zhiyi staggered a few steps and fell downwards, instinctively shielding Xiaobao in his arms and landing on his side. A sharp crack came from his shoulder, and the pain brought him back to his senses.
The opening was shrinking, this side was pitch black, while the other side was filled with dim lights and a group of eerie-smiling, sinister-looking creatures.
The boy cast spell after spell, even thrusting his most precious sword horizontally in the end to shake off the relentless pursuers. However, he still didn't notice his footing and was grabbed by the dark blue ghost hand, losing his balance.
In this situation, once you fall, there is absolutely no chance of getting back up.
Fortunately, the boy reacted extremely quickly. He flicked a spell with his fingertip to break free of the restraints and leaped up, stepping over several heads to reach towards the cave entrance.
But this brief pause gave those things the opportunity to pounce, pulling at the boy like a swamp, threatening to engulf him.
The escape route was getting smaller and smaller, and the boy missed the shrinking black hole. He had already given up hope of escaping in this way, but suddenly someone grabbed his hand tightly.
He saw Fan Zhiyi, whose face was covered in blood, his expression contorted, his waist stuck in the hole, half of his body protruding inside.
Fan Zhiyi felt very uncomfortable being squeezed at the edge of the black hole. He even felt like he was being forcibly crushed into a ball, but he still refused to let go and forcefully dragged the boy outward.
The things behind him began to crawl forward along the boy's body. Because of the previous attack, Fan Zhiyi's eyesight was still not very good. This actually had one advantage: he no longer had to confront these things head-on. Since he couldn't see how scary they were, he wasn't really that afraid.
Fan Zhiyi forcefully stuck the talisman the boy had given him back onto the boy's arm, and with that one move, he repelled the ghost that was pulling at the boy.
Fan Zhiyi pulled the boy forward forcefully, but the boy was immediately grabbed by the foot by the ghost that had followed.
There were simply too many of them; how could Fan Zhiyi possibly move them all by himself in a tug-of-war?
Moreover, the boy wasn't a rope; the pain he felt being pulled like that was no less than Fan Zhiyi's: "Let go!" He meant it; he hadn't even been eaten by the ghost yet, but Fan Zhiyi had already broken him.
Fan Zhiyi thought the boy was afraid of implicating him, and was deeply moved. He worked even harder and actually managed to pull the boy up a bit.
He still has basic human morality; he would never abandon his companion! But his back hurts so much, it feels like it's going to break!
The boy was in so much pain that even his handsome face became contorted. The two distorted faces stared at each other, but Fan Zhiyi couldn't see clearly, while the boy could see it very clearly. He felt that the impact of Fan Zhiyi, with his disheveled hair and blood-covered face, was greater than that of the ghost dragging him below.
"I will find another way out myself, Fan Zhiyi, let go of me!"
Hearing the boy say that, Fan Zhiyi realized he was even less likely to let him go; he was about to succeed!
The boy gritted his teeth in hatred, but in the midst of the pain, he had a sudden inspiration and summoned his long-forgotten sword to force back some of the ghostly hands that were holding him. As a result, he overexerted himself and blood spilled from the corner of his mouth.
In that instant, Fan Zhiyi successfully pulled the boy out and flung him, causing him to crash into a nearby tree with a muffled groan, spitting out a mouthful of blood before passing out. His sword then clattered to the ground.
Fan Zhiyi plopped down on the ground, panting heavily, still somewhat dazed as he watched the black hole disappear rapidly.
About four or five seconds later, Fan Zhiyi, still shaken, looked around and said to Xiaobao, "Xiaobao, don't be afraid, we..."
The words caught in his throat, because when Fan Zhiyi saw the buildings and layout here, his heart sank instantly.
They returned to that street, their backs pressed against the gate of the haunted house, as if they had just come out of it. But this time, the boy was unconscious, and if anything happened again, there was no one to help.
Fan Zhiyi staggered to his feet and ran to the boy, turning him over.
The boy's blood smeared half his face and stuck to a few strands of his hair.
"Hello, hello?" Fan Zhiyi asked weakly, then mustered his courage and patted the boy's face. When there was no response, he panicked and immediately checked the boy's breathing. He was still breathing, and his heart was beating.
Fan Zhiyi breathed a sigh of relief, but dared not linger. After resting for a while, he asked Xiao Bao to help him figure out a way to carry the boy on his back.
In any case, it's not a place to linger in front of this haunted house.
Fan Zhiyi glanced at the boy and saw the talisman he had stuck on the boy's arm. He took it off and stuck it on his chest, then got up and carried the boy on his back.
A sharp pain shot through his waist, making Fan Zhiyi wince and nearly collapse, causing both of them to tumble over.
The boy looked tall and thin, but he was surprisingly heavy. Fan Zhiyi's calves trembled a few times before he finally stood up straight.
Before leaving, Fan Zhiyi realized he had almost forgotten the boy's sword. He asked Xiaobao to pick it up for him, held it in his hand, and said, "Xiaobao, you have to stay close. This time, your brother might not be able to hold your hand."
Xiao Bao nodded.
Taking the first step nearly killed Fan Zhiyi. He persevered for a few more steps, but he simply couldn't go on.
Fan Zhiyi took a deep breath and put the boy down. His thighs ached and his back hurt so much that he fell to the ground with the boy.
Fan Zhiyi, feeling guilty, glanced at the boy. Seeing that the boy was still asleep, he didn't know whether to breathe a sigh of relief or sigh.
He took off his outer robe and put it on the boy, then took the boy's hands, made him lie face down, and dragged him for a distance.
They arrived at the inn again, but this time the inn was dark and the windows were tightly closed.
Fan Zhiyi placed the boy on the steps in front of the inn and then sat down himself.
He's not doing well anymore. He was still a bit warm when he was dragging himself along, but now that he's still and the wind is blowing, he feels incredibly cold.
A dark figure seemed to be approaching from the darkness ahead, the light from the lamp it was carrying was dim and indistinct.
Fan Zhiyi was too exhausted to move, and could only think, "Here we go again. Can't you come up with something new?"
Then, glancing at the unconscious boy, she reluctantly put the talisman she had just pasted back on, and holding up the sword, she said, "Little Bao, your talisman is still there, right? You run, I can't walk anymore. If I survive, I'll wait for you here at dawn."
Xiao Bao didn't move, but instead took out his talisman and gave it to Fan Zhiyi, who was extremely moved.
She's such an angel!
Although he was tempted, Fan Zhiyi still returned the talisman to Xiaobao: "Remember to keep it safe. Don't give it to anyone, not even the two of us."
The shadow ahead was getting closer and closer. Fan Zhiyi shouted, "Xiao Bao, run! Quick... wait!"
The next second, Fan Zhiyi grabbed Xiaobao.
Wait a minute, something seems off.
