"can."

After the craftsman gave his assurance, he asked somewhat sheepishly, "Once the house is built, I wonder if I could use the house design for someone else to build it?"

"of course can."

For Fang Yu, once the house was built, the blueprints were just a piece of waste paper, and keeping them was of no use.

The craftsman pulled Fang Yu aside to discuss the blueprints in detail. Fang Xin, feeling a bit bored, took a few steps to the side of the street.

There were many stalls at the street corner, and she walked over to browse. When she turned around unintentionally, she saw two people behind her talking about something with their backs to her.

Having just escaped the wolf's den, Fang Xin had a strong intuition that these two men were not good people.

She wanted to go back to find Fang Yu, but the two men were already walking towards her.

Unsure if it was aimed at her, she turned and ran, stumbling into a dead end.

When I turned around, the two people had already caught up with me and come in.

She forced herself to calm down and asked the two men, "Who are you? You'd better not come any closer, or I'll call the authorities."

One of them walked over and chuckled, "It's not too late to report to the authorities after you've gathered the herbs."

“药??”

Fang Xin glanced back at the dead end with no way out, swallowed hard in fear, and said, "I don't know what you're talking about. I'm going home."

Fang Xin boldly walked outside, but someone directly blocked her way and said, "You can go home, as long as you bring back the elm tree, then we'll let you go home."

Shu Yu, Fang Xin remembered, was the medicine that the doctor had told her sister could treat headaches, which she had picked on the mountain before.

Suddenly, she remembered that the two people who had chased her earlier were after the medicine in her hand. Now, looking at them, she realized why they seemed familiar; they were wearing the same clothes.

“There are plenty of herbs on that mountain. Since you know what kind of herbs they are, go and pick them yourselves. Don’t stop me. I’m going home.”

She took a step forward, but the other person took a step back, still blocking her way, and warned, "Young lady, don't be stubborn. We went through a lot of trouble to find you."

It must be the owner of that pharmacy. Fang Xin clenched her fist and then punched the person who was blocking her way.

How could she possibly fight off two grown men? That's how she got caught.

She was no pushover either. Even with her hands restrained, she still had her mouth. With her head down, she grabbed someone at random and bit them hard.

"what!!"

A scream echoed through the narrow alley. The bitten man raised his hand to hit Fang Xin, but before his hand could strike, his arm was grabbed.

A tall beggar appeared out of nowhere, staring expressionlessly at the two men.

"You shameless beggar, you're asking for it!"

The other man picked up a stick and used it as a weapon before charging at the beggar.

The beggar slowly moved his hand, twisted the man's arm around his neck, and made him howl in pain.

Then, when another person rushed over, he raised his foot and kicked him, sending the person crashing into the wall and nearly knocking them over.

The beggar threw the person he was holding aside and warned impatiently, "Get out of here if you don't want to die!"

Knowing they were no match for the beggar, the two could only flee in panic.

Fang Xin rubbed her wrist, which was sore from being gripped, and stared at the beggar who clapped his hands, walked to the pile of junk next to him, and lay down to continue sleeping.

He was dressed in tattered clothes and had unkempt hair; if you didn't look closely, he looked just like a ragged person.

Fang Xin squatted down next to him and gently poked him with her fingertip: "Thank you for earlier. Why are you sleeping here? Are you hungry? Shall I treat you to something to eat?"

The beggar slowly raised one eyelid and glanced at Fang Xin, who had a naive look on her face, before uttering indifferently, "Go away, don't disturb my sleep."

His voice was cold, and Fang Xin was still a little frightened. She didn't dare to say anything more and slowly got up and left the alley.

The beggar opened his eyes wide and glanced at her retreating figure before closing them again and going back to sleep.

A moment later, Fang Xin returned, carrying the steamed buns she had just bought. She placed them next to the beggar, not wanting to disturb his sleep, and left with light steps.

After she left, the beggar opened his eyes again, picked up the bun wrapped in oil paper next to him, and found a small piece of silver inside.

"Mind your own business," the beggar muttered casually, because he had just glanced at Fang Xin and saw that she was dressed in coarse linen clothes and didn't seem to be living much better than him.

He put away the silver coin, straightened his clothes, stuffed the bun into his pocket, and continued to sleep.

When Fang Xin returned, Fang Yu had just finished talking with the craftsman and was looking for her: "Xin'er, where did you go?"

Fang Xin took her arm, wondering whether she should tell her what had just happened. If she did, her sister might not let her set up her stall today, but they were about to build a house and needed money urgently.

She thought again that with Manager Sun at Tianxiang Restaurant and so many customers, even if those two people came again, they probably wouldn't dare to do anything rash.

She then said, "I just wandered around the neighborhood. How was your chat, sister?"

"I've already spoken with the craftsmen; they'll be coming to my house in three days. Let's head to Tianxiang Tower now."

As she left, Fang Xin glanced back to make sure she didn't see the two people from before before feeling a little relieved.

Despite saying she wasn't afraid, Fang Xin was somewhat distracted while grilling the meat.

Fang Yu was so busy that she didn't notice that she had something on her mind.

"Get out of the way, get out of the way, don't you have eyes?"

A sound suddenly came from behind the crowd waiting in line for barbecue, and everyone in line turned around to look.

A few people walked out from the crowd, and Fang Yu recognized the one in the lead at a glance as Zhang Shicong.

Fang Xin was startled when she saw the two people following behind Zhang Shicong. She subconsciously moved closer to Fang Yu and nervously pinched Fang Yu's cuff.

Fang Yu thought she was frightened by Zhang Shicong's arrogant demeanor, so she whispered to comfort her, "Xin'er, you go in first."

Fearing that she would implicate Fang Yu, Fang Xin obediently went into the backyard of Tianxiang Tower first.

Zhang Shicong walked up to the stall and casually reached out to pick up the meat skewers that Fang Yu had just grilled, but before he could even touch them, Fang Yu pressed his arm down with a palm-leaf fan.

Fang Yu reminded him in a flat tone, "Young master, everything is about first come, first served. If you are also interested in this barbecue, please go to the back of the line."

Zhang Shicong's disdainful gaze swept from Fang Yu's face to the inner hall of Tianxiang Tower behind her. He tapped his folding fan in his hand and suddenly laughed, "You're the first one to make me stand in line in Qingshan City. Do you know who I am?"
