Crossing Over to Yamada Love

Chapter 207 Snow Fun

"Alright, have your mother prepare a room for them tonight. Tell outsiders they're distant relatives, refugees who came here because of famine. Say they're homeless and can stay and help out at the shop." Wang nodded. This was good; having two more people would put her mind at ease. They'd have someone to help them if anything happened in the future.

The next morning, the two men sent by Xue Lingfeng arrived. One was in his forties and the other in his twenties, both in good physical condition.

The man, in his forties, had a square face and an honest appearance, giving off a very reliable and trustworthy vibe.

The young man was in his early twenties, and he was quite handsome. His big eyes sparkled with intelligence. He was clearly a clever and quick-witted person.

Upon meeting the Mo family members, the two knelt down and kowtowed in greeting. Xue Lingfeng had instructed them beforehand that Mo Lan would be their mistress from now on, and everything should be done with Mo Lan's best interests at heart. Their mission was to protect the Mo family. Therefore, they would become servants of the Mo family from then on.

The Mo family members had already heard about this from Madam Wang the night before and were very welcoming of the two. They were all taken aback when they saw the two kneeling and bowing. The Mo family members came from farming backgrounds and felt awkward seeing others kowtow to them. Mo Quan quickly told Mo Changhai to help the two up and told them not to be so polite and to treat each other like family.

And so, Bai Da, in his forties, and Bai Qi, in his twenties, stayed at the Mo family, presenting themselves as father and son. They helped the Mo family with chores, served as waiters, and incidentally protected the Mo family's safety.

The Bai family father and son did not look down on the Mo family because of their low social status. On the contrary, the better and more polite the Mo family treated them, the more they stayed within their bounds and did not overstep their bounds.

After settling the Bai family father and son in, Xue Lingfeng arrived with Xue Lingyun. Mo Lan greeted them in the private room.

Xue Lingyun was pleasantly surprised. He had been quite busy lately and hadn't been to the Mo family shop. Today, Mo Lan actually came to see him. Did that mean she had resolved her inner conflict and was no longer avoiding him?

Mo Lan smiled at the two men, bowed to them, and said in a clear voice, "Lanlan thanks you two gentlemen for saving my family. If it weren't for you, my family would be finished. Please accept Lanlan's bow."

Upon hearing Mo Lan's words, Xue Lingyun spat out the tea in her mouth with a spit, let out a strange laugh, and said, "Are you Lanlan? When did you become so polite and reasonable with us? You've become a refined young lady after just a few days."

Xue Lingfeng also looked at Mo Lan with a smile in his eyes. It's no wonder that the seventh brother lost his composure like this; being so polite is indeed unlike Lanlan.

Mo Lan ignored the two of them, finished her greetings, straightened her back gracefully, and then gave Xue Lingyun a generous glare, saying, "Thank you, and the greetings have been given. Alright, now I am who I am. If you laugh again, I won't give you lunch."

"Haha." Xue Lingyun couldn't help but burst into laughter. "That's more like it. Otherwise, I would have thought I went to the wrong place and met the wrong person."

"Aren't you bored?" Mo Lan glared at Xue Lingyun, realizing that in their eyes she was just a rude and ill-mannered person.

“Boring.” Xue Lingyun straightened his clothes and replied to Mo Lan in a serious tone.

"Bored? Sure, I'll find you something to do." Mo Lan said, tilting her head and thinking for a moment. What to do? She glanced outside; the snow on the ground hadn't melted yet, but it wouldn't be long before it was gone by March. She'd been here for years and had never built a snowman before—how childlike of her! Since the snow was still there and there were no other guests, and she wasn't worried about being seen, she'd build a snowman with them.

After thinking it over, Mo Lan clapped her hands and said happily, "Come on, let's go out. I'll find you some things to do."

As soon as she finished speaking, she turned around and walked out.

"No way? You're really going to do this?" Xue Lingyun groaned. He was just teasing Mo Lan, how could this girl take it so seriously? Is he really going to give them something to do? What will he make them do?

While he was still pondering, Xue Lingfeng had already gotten up and walked out. Xue Lingyun pursed his lips, thinking to himself: So eager. He also got up and followed him out.

Mo Lan ran to the backyard and grabbed two shovels. She ran back over, handed one to each of them, pulled them to the doorway, pointed to the snow on the ground, and said, "Each of you build a snowman, one on each side of the door."

Xue Lingfeng and Xue Lingyun exchanged a glance. This was too ridiculous! They were being asked to do this? They were young masters of the Xue family; if people saw this, they would be laughed at to death.

The two turned their heads and looked around to see if any pedestrians were passing by.

"This? Lanlan, let's forget about this. We don't know how to build a snowman. How about we make something else?" Xue Lingyun discussed with Mo Lan. Although they hadn't seen anyone yet, they might come soon. He didn't want to make this!

"Are you sure you don't want to pile them up?" Mo Lan wasn't annoyed when she saw his reluctance; she just looked at him with a smile.

"Well, I'll pile them up. Yes! I'll pile them up." Seeing Mo Lan's smile, Xue Lingyun quickly agreed, but then muttered, "If I don't pile them up, who knows what weird tricks you'll come up with to punish me. It's better to pile them up."

Mo Lan found Xue Lingyun's words amusing; he really knew her well. If he wouldn't do that, she'd find him something even more fun.

Xue Lingfeng was a smart man. He didn't even ask any questions; he knew he had to build a snowman, so without a word, he grabbed a shovel and started shoveling snow. But how to arrange the snow? How to build a snowman? He'd never done that before.

Seeing Xue Lingfeng holding a shovel, unsure how to put the snow on it, and just staring blankly at the snow, Mo Lan laughed out loud. Neither of these young masters had ever done this before.

“You do it like this, like this…” Mo Lan explained to the two of them earnestly.

After listening to Mo Lan's explanation for a while, the two basically understood it; it wasn't difficult at all, quite simple. The two then began to fight.

Steward Xue, the coachman, and Bai Da and Bai Qi, standing under the eaves, stared wide-eyed at the two young masters shoveling snow and building a snowman. That was their master! Their high and mighty master! And he was actually shoveling snow and building a snowman! It was unbelievable!

However, they could only marvel in their hearts and dared not go over. If the master was interested, he would do it willingly. If they went over, they would only be asking for trouble. Well, they would just watch. Such a scene was rare to see.

Seeing the two of them getting into a fight, and doing it quite well, Mo Lan smiled and turned to go into the courtyard.

"Hey, where are you going? You're not going to leave us here, are you? Why don't you go inside and warm up?" Xue Lingyun called out to Mo Lan as she was about to leave.

"Yes, yes, I'm going inside to warm up. I'll be back in a bit. If anyone stacks it slowly or doesn't do it well, I'll punish them. If you guys are lazy, you'll have to deal with it yourselves." Mo Lan made a face at Xue Lingyun and ran to the backyard.

She found two carrots to make the snowman's nose, but what about eyes? She didn't have any black ones. "Okay, I'll use pecans." She grabbed two more pecans.

"Lan'er, where are you going?" Qiu asked, puzzled as her daughter picked up radishes and walnuts.

"Young Master Xue is building a snowman, and I'm using this as the snowman's eyes and nose," Mo Lan giggled, answering her mother's question.

"What? Building a snowman? Was it your idea again, you little brat? Why are you so fussy? What if they get cold in this weather? They're the young masters of the family, not as tough as us. Don't let them freeze outside, quickly get them inside to warm up. You're really something." Qiu complained to her daughter.

"Mother, it's alright. They did it of their own volition. I didn't force them. It's good for their health to exercise. Please don't worry." Mo Lan understood what her mother meant. Although she and Xue Lingfeng had feelings for each other, in her mother's heart, the Xue family was superior and their people were precious. She had never treated her family as an equal to the Xue family.

"Let them be, as long as they're happy. We shouldn't meddle in their business." Mrs. Wang smiled slightly and called her daughter-in-law back. Let her granddaughter and the others make their fuss.

Mrs. Qiu nagged her daughter a couple more times, and Mo Lan made a face at her before running out. Mrs. Qiu, furious, scolded her afterward for being irresponsible and immature.

Xue Lingyun piled up a few shovelfuls and then looked around. He saw that his fifth brother was still diligently piling up the pile and showed no sign of giving up. So he had no choice but to start piling up the pile again.

He piled up another shovelful, then glanced out of the corner of his eye and saw Mo Lan running over, so he hurriedly piled it up again with great effort.

When Mo Lan got closer, she looked at both sides and saw that they were both doing well. However, Xue Lingfeng was more focused and made faster progress, while Xue Lingyun was a little behind.

After the two finished building it, Mo Lan added a nose and eyes to the snowman, and from a distance, it really did look like one.

Xue Lingfeng and Xue Lingyun also admired their masterpiece; they had to admit, it felt really good.

Mo Lan touched the snowman with her hands; the cool, refreshing feeling was wonderful. She secretly scratched the snowman's back and grabbed a handful of snow.

"Seventh Young Master Xue, come here." Mo Lan smiled at Xue Lingyun.

"What are you doing? Are you going to reward me?" Xue Lingyun smiled casually and walked over.

"Yes, it's a reward for you, but you're too tall, I can't reach you." Mo Lan smiled broadly, staring intently at Xue Lingyun's face, as if she were planning to reward him with a kiss.

"Alright, for your reward, I'll bend down. So you can reach it." Xue Lingyun bent down. He wondered what Mo Lan would do next.

Xue Lingfeng remained silent, squinting at Mo Lan's actions. He believed Mo Lan wouldn't be flirting with Xue Lingyun, because the glint in that girl's eyes was playful. She must be up to something again.

Mo Lan stood in front of Xue Lingyun, raised her arm, placed her hand on Xue Lingyun's back, and slowly moved it upwards until it reached his neck. Mo Lan quickly stuffed the snowball in her hand into Xue Lingyun's neck. Then she pulled up his clothes, and the snowball slid down his clothes.

"Ah!" Xue Lingyun cried out, feeling something cool slide down her neck to her back. It was really cold. This girl, she's really up to no good.
