Rebirth and Rewriting Fate

Chapter 82 Express your feelings

For the past month, Chiwu had become a regular visitor to Qingfeng Courtyard. Two days ago, he brought news that Dongchi had suffered heavy losses in the battle, but the war was finally coming to an end. Yun Chu felt slightly relieved.

Chiwu appeared at Qingfeng Courtyard early that morning, but this time he didn't bring any fruit.

When Yun Chu got up and opened the door, Mo Han said to her, "Miss, Chi Wu is waiting for you in the study."

Yun Chu frowned in confusion. Could it be that something had happened to Gu Ruoxiao? No, he was safe and sound in his previous life, and he won the battle in the end.

As soon as Yun Chu stepped into the study, she asked, "What happened?"

Upon hearing this, Chiwu turned around and said respectfully, "Please come with me to the Prince's residence for the time being, Miss Yun Chu."

Yun Chu looked at him with even more confusion.

Chiwu lowered its head.

"What happened?"

Chiwu remained silent.

"I won't go unless you tell me," Yun Chu emphasized.

“Miss Shangguan was kidnapped a couple of days ago. This morning I received a letter from the master, asking me to take you back to the Prince’s mansion to avoid the danger for now,” Chiwu said.

"A temporary respite? Miss Shangguan has been arrested again?" Yun Chu asked in surprise. "But if she's arrested, why should she protect me?"

Chiwu hesitated for a moment before speaking, "Yesterday, the other party proposed to exchange you for Miss Shangguan."

"what?"

"No."

Mo Han, Nan Rao, Zhu Ling, Xu Li, and Ping An all stood in front of Yun Chu, who was wrapped up like an onion.

"I'm not trying to capture Miss Yun Chu to exchange for someone else. The Prince's residence is safer; the Prince wants to protect her," Chi Wu hurriedly explained.

Yun Chu stood up, pushed aside the people in front of her one by one, and stood in front of Chi Wu, asking, "Why use me to exchange for someone else? Shouldn't my life be more important than Miss Shangguan's?"

Chiwu shook his head. "This subordinate does not know."

Where is your grandfather now?

"Master is still in the Ice Marsh."

Yun Chu pondered for a moment and then said, "Take me to him."

Chiwu suddenly raised his head to look at Yun Chu, and the others cried out urgently, "Miss! No!"

Yun Chu repeated, "Take me there! There must be something wrong with this."

Everyone knew that once Yun Chu made a decision, it was difficult to change it, so they all looked at her with concern.

Half an hour later, the three horses left Qingfeng Courtyard. The other people in Qingfeng Courtyard watched their young lady's departing figure and could only silently pray that she would return safely.

Chiwu led Yun Chu and Mo Han at a brisk pace, changing horses at each post station. After two days and one night of galloping, they finally arrived at Bingze at nightfall on the second day.

Chiwu led the two to a stop in front of an ordinary house. He stepped forward and knocked rhythmically on the door, which was soon opened.

Sui Bo was startled when he saw Chi Wu, and even more surprised when he saw Yun Chu behind him. Chi Wu pushed away his hand that was blocking the door, and Yun Chu walked in. "Where is your master?"

"Master is in the study over there," Sui Bo pointed instinctively.

Yun Chu hurried off in that direction.

Sui Bo, who was behind, grabbed Chi Wu and whispered, "Didn't Master say to protect Miss Yun Chu? Why did you bring her here?"

Chiwu remained silent, pulled his arm out, and hurriedly followed Yun Chu.

Before even reaching the study, Yun Chu could hear noises coming from inside.

"Master, Dongchi sent another letter today. Do we have any other better ideas?" Chengfeng asked anxiously.

No one answered from inside the house.

"The best solution is to hand me over," Yun Chu said as she stepped into the study.

Gu Ruoxiao suddenly looked up at Yun Chu. This person, who shouldn't be here, was standing brazenly in front of him. Gu Ruoxiao angrily said, "Chiwu!"

Chiwu hurriedly knelt down, and the atmosphere became tense.

“It has nothing to do with him. I forced him to bring me here,” Yun Chu explained.

Gu Ruoxiao remained silent, but one could sense the anger emanating from him.

"The three of you should all go out first," Yun Chu said.

Chiwu and Chengfeng exchanged a glance, then looked at Gu Ruoxiao without moving.

Yun Chu gave Mo Han a wink. Mo Han stepped forward, grabbed one of them with each hand, dragged them out, and closed the door behind him.

"What are you doing here?" Gu Ruoxiao asked, his voice hoarse, his anger having subsided slightly.

"I'll solve the problem," Yun Chu replied, standing in front of the desk across the paper.

"How do we solve this?" Gu Ruoxiao asked her.

"Hand me over."

"Impossible." Gu Ruoxiao refused directly, turning his body to the side, the rise and fall of his chest revealing the turbulent emotions within him.

Yun Chu walked over the desk to him, looked him straight in the eye, and said, "The best thing to do now is to hand me over. You can't possibly not know that." She urged him again.

"I said it's impossible, don't even think about it." Gu Ruoxiao emphasized, his eyes slightly red and his lips tightly pursed.

Yun Chu sighed, "Gu Ruoxiao, be rational. You know perfectly well that this is the best solution. The two countries cannot afford to go to war again."

Gu Ruoxiao remained silent.

Yun Chu continued to persuade her, "I know you're very anxious because Miss Shangguan was arrested, but please be rational. Handing me over is what you should do."

"I said it's impossible!" Gu Ruoxiao stood up.

Reasoning with her and appealing to her emotions were useless; gentle persuasion yielded no results. Yun Chu grew impatient and snapped, "You're so anxious about Miss Shangguan, can't you be a little more rational?"

"I acted irrationally because of you," Gu Ruoxiao roared.

Yun Chu was stunned. She subconsciously asked, "Gu Ruoxiao, do you know what you're saying?" Her eyes were filled with doubt and confusion.

"Yes, you heard me right, Yun Chu, I've fallen for you." Gu Ruoxiao looked directly at Yun Chu and said each word clearly.

Boom! The world that Yun Chu had imagined suddenly collapsed. She was a little panicked and trembling. She swallowed hard and said with difficulty, "Impossible, how could you like me?"

Gu Ruoxiao looked at her and said, "I regret it. When you confessed to me, I felt that the burden on my shoulders was greater than anything else. Later, at Xiyan Mountain, I found that you were not what I thought you were. I misunderstood you. Later, I thought that I was just curious or perhaps more of an alliance based on shared secrets. So when you broke up with me at Juxian Pavilion, I wanted to let time prove it."

But when I saw you standing with Tuge, and he protected you, trying to keep you here, I realized my feelings for you weren't just friendship. So when Luo Yan gave you the jade bracelet, I admit I was jealous, insanely jealous. I know your feelings for Luo Yan aren't romantic, yet you told me you'd learn to like him.

Gu Ruoxiao took a step closer to Yun Chu, gazing at her affectionately. "Yun Chu, I regret it. Can you still like me again?" he asked, his tone even carrying a pleading undertone.

Listening to Gu Ruoxiao's heartfelt analysis, Yun Chu was shocked. She was slightly lost in thought, muttering, "How is this possible? How could you like me?" An extreme sense of insecurity overwhelmed her.

As Gu Ruoxiao listened to her murmurs, he stepped forward, put one arm around Yun Chu's waist, and held her head with the other. He lowered his head and kissed her.
