Rebirth and Rewriting Fate

Chapter 211 There is a problem

"Miss, wait for me." Mo Han jumped up the tree.

A short while later, she jumped down. "Miss, over there is Luo Garden. The sound is coming from that direction. This wall is newly built and high, which is why you can't see it."

"Luoyuan?" Yun Chu asked, somewhat puzzled.

"Yes, the garden we just visited is the back of Luo Garden. You can only see it from a high vantage point," Mo Han explained.

"Oh dear, Miss, those two servants didn't sign the delivery slips." Ping An said anxiously, his face flushed as he looked at the slips in his hand. He had made a mistake on his first time delivering slips, and he was at a loss for what to do.

"It's alright, no rush. We'll go back and get the family to sign the papers again," Yun Chu reassured her.

The three of them turned around and walked back.

When they reached the original gate, Ping An knocked on the door, but no one answered.

"Miss, it's all my fault. If Sister Zisu hadn't gone to the grand gathering at Luoyuan today, and I had come to deliver the wine, this wouldn't have happened." Ping An was so anxious that she was almost crying.

"Wait a minute, didn't you just say the Luoyuan Grand Gathering is in ten days?" Yun Chu asked in surprise.

"Yes, but the Chamber of Commerce's closing ceremony was originally scheduled for today. However, it was postponed for ten days because the event was so successful. Although everyone knew this, the Chamber of Commerce still decided to hold the ceremony today as a backup option, so there are a lot of people in Luoyuan today."

As Ping An finished speaking, Yun Chu felt a surge of fear. They had all forgotten that today was the originally scheduled closing day, and the extension of the event was only decided three days ago. If the Crown Prince of Dongchi was going to make a move, it was very likely to happen today, especially since Luo Garden was full of people.

Realizing this, Yun Chu swayed and almost lost her balance. "Miss!" Mo Han supported her.

Yun Chu looked at the tightly closed gate. Now that she thought about it, she realized that the behavior of the two servants was a bit strange, and that this garden was actually behind Luo Garden.

Yun Chu forced herself to calm down. It was only 11:00 AM, not yet the busiest time in Luo Garden. She still had time, and she had to go in and take a look at this strange garden.

"Ping An, go back to Shili Pu first and have someone go to the Prince's Mansion and the palace gate to find the Prince. Tell him that today is the originally scheduled closing day and that there is a problem with Luoyuan."

"Miss!"

"Go quickly."

Ping An didn't understand why, but he took off running.

"Mo Han, take me inside!"

"Miss, it's too dangerous. Please wait here for me, I'm going in."

"What if they come to arrest me after you leave?"

"But..."

"Hurry, we need to check if there's a problem as soon as possible!"

“Okay.” Mo Han put his arm around Yun Chu and leaped over the high wall.

The two servants who had just transported the wine cart were carrying wine vats against a wall.

"You know, the wine is for everyone to drink, so why do we have to do the work?" the servant complained.

“Shut up! I got this job with great difficulty. You know how expensive that wine was before? The boss bought it from Juxian Pavilion three months ago. We probably pocketed a lot of money by buying this cheap wine!” the short man said.

"Won't this cause problems?" the servant asked, somewhat frightened.

"Don't worry, I tasted it, and it tastes just like the Juxian Pavilion! Besides, if it weren't for the fact that the boss is coming to check later, I wouldn't have wanted to buy it. In a few more hours, this place will all be reduced to ashes!"

Yun Chu, who had just arrived at the second gate, was carried by Mo Han to leap up into the tree. She had just heard the short man's last words, "In a few hours, this place will all be reduced to ashes."

A nameless fear rose in her heart. She suddenly remembered that Dongchi was known for its firearms. Although the raw materials for gunpowder had gradually disappeared in Dongchi over the past year, it did not mean that Dajin had no raw materials.

"Follow them," Yun Chu whispered.

"Okay." Mo Han quietly followed them with Yun Chu.

Yun Chu was shocked as she passed by the place where the two people had just been. An entire wall was covered with unopened wine jars, stretching for miles. "There must be more than just wine," Yun Chu thought.

Two servants nearby stopped simultaneously in front of a seemingly ordinary yet subtly mysterious wall. Mo Han, with sharp eyes, quickly pulled Yun Chu to a hidden spot nearby.

One of the two servants walked with practiced ease to a covered walkway lamp adorned with exquisite patterns. The lamp seemed to blend seamlessly with its surroundings, but it concealed a hidden mechanism. The servant cautiously extended his finger and gently turned a nearly imperceptible knob beneath the lamp base. As the knob slowly turned, the seemingly impenetrable wall gradually slid open, revealing a tightly closed wooden door. The two servants quickly exchanged a glance, then silently vanished behind the door.

Mo Han and Yun Chu remained hidden in the shadows, waiting patiently until they were sure there was nothing unusual around them. Only then did Yun Chu gently tug at Mo Han's sleeve and step out.

She mimicked the servant's actions, carefully approaching the corridor lamp, her fingers gently touching the knob. As the knob turned softly, the wall silently slid open again, revealing the small door leading to the unknown.

The two exchanged a glance, gently pushed open the door, and entered sideways, their movements swift and cautious.

Behind the door was a deep and mysterious stone passage, winding and twisting. The two women carefully traversed this passage, and after a long and winding journey, they finally emerged from a magnificent artificial mountain. The sight before them was breathtaking; it was a completely new courtyard, utterly different from what they had seen before—a truly hidden paradise.

At this moment, Yun Chu was not in the mood to appreciate it; an inexplicable unease welled up in her heart.

"Miss, wait for me a moment." After looking around, Mo Han pulled Yun Chu to a secluded corner and then jumped back onto the tree.

A moment later, Mo Han jumped down. "Miss, we are now standing outside the wall of Luo Garden."

"What?" Yun Chu was stunned.

"I just checked, the exit of this courtyard is in that direction." Mo Han pointed east.

"Miss, someone's coming." Mo Han's voice was low and urgent. She quickly wrapped her arms around Yun Chu's waist, and in a flash, the two of them lightly leaped onto the top of a tall tree, like two leaves falling silently in the wind.

Under the tree, two men dressed in guard uniforms were struggling to carry a huge wooden crate, their steps heavy, clearly indicating that the contents of the crate were not light. Their faces were covered in sweat, and their eyes revealed a mixture of exhaustion and vigilance.

"Once we finish today, we can go back," the bearded guard said gruffly, his tone carrying a hint of relief.

“I’m never coming here again, it’s too dangerous, Brother Wang. Don’t go ahead today.” Another tall, thin man followed closely behind, his voice trembling slightly, clearly filled with fear and unease. His eyes darted around frequently, as if afraid some uninvited guest might suddenly appear.

"Don't worry, I'm not going to do this deadly job!" The bearded guard laughed, his tone full of mockery and self-deprecation.

The two men, carrying boxes, walked to a rockery. The rockery had a peculiar shape, with moss and vines growing in its crevices, giving it an ancient and mysterious appearance. They skillfully navigated around a corner of the rockery, carrying their boxes inside, and their figures quickly disappeared behind it.

Yun Chu clung tightly to the tree branch, her gaze fixed on the two figures until they completely disappeared. She turned to look at Mo Han, who understood. With another flash, Mo Han leaped down from the tree with Yun Chu, landing lightly on the ground. They cautiously followed along the hidden path behind the artificial hill.
