Rebirth and Rewriting Fate

Yun Chu looked at the dishes in front of her, but had no appetite at all. She had been missing for an hour and a half, and the people in Wangyou Residence must be frantic with worry. Mo Han must be searching for her everywhere.

Not long after, Dongfang Yunche walked in slowly, his steps steady and powerful. Behind him followed the burly, stern-faced guard he had seen at the Juxian Pavilion.

The guard's hands pressed tightly down on a black-clad man who was bound hand and foot and unable to move. The man seemed to be bound by an invisible gravity, unable to struggle at all. The black veil covering the man's face had already been roughly torn off, revealing a bruised and bloodied face. From his swollen features and bruised skin, it was clear that this man had just suffered a brutal beating.

"These are the assassins who tried to kill you today," Dongfang Yunche said simply and clearly.

"Then..." Yun Chu only wanted to care about Mo Han.

Dongfang Yunche glanced at her and said, "Your guard is fine. With her martial arts skills, she can't get rid of him for a while, but she won't suffer any losses either."

Yun Chu breathed a sigh of relief. She looked at the men in black in front of her and asked, "Why did you want to kill me?"

The kneeling man in black, his face as pale as paper, looked at Dongfang Yunche and opened his mouth with difficulty, his voice trembling with a hint of despair, "Yes, it was you who sent us, Seventh Prince, have you forgotten? You personally gave the order to send us..." His voice grew softer and softer, as if he were terrified.

A sharp glint flashed in his eyes, as if he could see into the fears and secrets in people's hearts.

"Seventh Prince, spare my life! My plan has failed, I deserve to die!"

Yun Chu stood quietly to the side, her gaze complex as she looked at Dongfang Yunche. At this moment, he seemed to have returned to the time when he had kidnapped her for the sake of the treasure—the ruthless, cold-blooded seventh prince who killed without blinking an eye. His eyes held no pity or warmth, only coldness and resolve. Yun Chu's heart sank slightly.

Dongfang Yunche's expression did not change at all because of his words. He simply said slowly, "Wang Song is from Wangjia Village in Xuzhou. He has a mother and a younger brother. He currently lives in Ping'an County, Changle Prefecture. Is that correct?"

Fear instantly filled the man in black's eyes. He had always thought he had kept his family affairs well hidden, so well that even his master hadn't noticed. He had even moved his family to live elsewhere, and the money he sent back always went through many hands before reaching his mother. But now, this seventh prince had found out everything.

"What...what do you want to do?" came the fearful voice of the man in black.

"Tell me everything you know, and I can guarantee your family's safety," Dongfang Yunche's sinister voice rang out.

After a moment of silence, the man in black spoke, "Yes, it's the First Prince. The First Prince said that this girl is your weakness. If he takes her hostage, he's not afraid that you won't submit. He'll definitely catch you off guard."

His words stunned Yun Chu. She subconsciously looked at Dongfang Yun Che in front of her, but he had his back to her, and she could only see his back.

Yun Chu blinked, her eyes filled with disbelief. What had this man in black just said? That she was his weakness? How could that be? Dongfang Yun Che's feelings for her? Impossible, what a ridiculous joke.

Perhaps seeing that no one spoke and they didn't believe him, and in order to protect his mother and younger brother, the man in black continued, "Yes, it's true. The First Prince said it with absolute certainty, and didn't you get injured because of this girl, Seventh Prince?"

Yun Chu's heart was in turmoil, and she subconsciously clutched her clothes tightly. Thinking of how Dongfang Yun Che insisted she go to Dongchi, and as the Seventh Prince's consort no less, she closed her eyes. What was all this about?

Seeing the atmosphere in the room freeze, and noticing his master's grim face as if a storm was about to break, the guard hurriedly said, "I'll take the man away first," and hastily pulled him out.

Only Yun Chu and Dongfang Yunche remained in the room. After a moment of silence, Dongfang Yunche walked towards the door.

Yun Chu instinctively called out to him, "Dongfang Yunche!"

Dongfang Yunche stopped at the door and spoke softly, his voice a mixture of relief and helplessness, "I never thought my secret would still be discovered by my eldest brother." With that, he stepped out the door.

Yun Chu's heart was in turmoil; she was at a loss. Had Dongfang Yunche... admitted it?! Yun Chu was utterly bewildered. She had barely met him—she could count the number of times on her fingers. How could he...?!

Yun Chu sat down inside the room, feeling extremely agitated and unsure of what to do. She missed Gu Ruoxiao somewhat.

Not long after, Dongfang Yunche returned. He looked at her naturally and said, "I'll take you home."

Seeing that Yun Chu was in a daze, he directly grabbed her wrist and led her to the horses outside the door.

Yun Chu was somewhat surprised. He had kidnapped her, but now he wanted to send her back. Didn't he want to take her to Dongchi?

Dongfang Yunche mounted his horse, extended his hand to her, and commanded, "Get on."

Yun Chu looked at him hesitantly and said, "I can ride a horse myself."

Dongfang Yunche frowned and said unhappily, "Stay or go back, it's your choice."

Yun Chu thought for a moment, but instead of taking Dongfang Yunche's hand, she reached out and grabbed the front of the saddle, struggling to climb up.

Dongfang Yunche didn't say anything, but simply stepped back slightly, giving Yun Chu plenty of space.

Dongfang Yunche remained silent throughout the journey, escorting the person to the entrance of Wangyou Residence.

Just as Yun Chu thought he wouldn't speak and was about to dismount, she heard a deep voice behind her, "I admit that the assassin mentioned my weakness today."

Yun Chu was so startled that she forgot to move.

"Whether you succeed in the struggle for the throne or not, I will help you kill the eldest prince, and you should carefully consider my proposal."

The arms that had been loosely wrapped around Yun Chu's sides loosened, and Yun Chu quickly jumped down.

She looked up at Dongfang Yunche on horseback, about to refuse him again, when the sound of rapid, dense hooves filled the air. These sounds quickly converged around them, forming echoes that created an invisible pressure.

The torches burned brightly in the night, illuminating everything around them as if it were daytime. In the firelight, Yun Chu was surprised to find many familiar faces around her. They wore the unique uniforms of the Black Riders' Dark Guard Camp, their black outfits embroidered with silver totems that gleamed coldly in the firelight.
